I think minecraft dev should improve the glass and add few stuff.
The first thing that comes in my mind is pain.
In the real life, if someone breaking glass using he's bare hands will cause an injury.
I know that there are people that think that minecraft shoul'nt be realistic, but adding glass injury will make the game kinda more complex and nice (althorght it can cause to much problems and another stuff).
I think that glass injury will consume 1-1.5 hearts.
Note: breaking glass with a tool (expect hoe) would not cause damage.
It should added only to hardcore mode.
The second thing that I think should be changed is the glass block.
Glass block should work like real thick glass- that can be only destroyed by a tool (of course it can be breaked be hand, but it will be a long procces).
I like the mirror, but that's it. Glass pain, seriously? Do you know how many people build greenhouses made completely out of glass? They would die 15 times, and it would take hours without tools, and even then, why use your precious materials on GLASS?

No support.
LOL
I didn't thougt about that (and I'm really sorry...)
Good gosh, you can't just go make tons of random features in Hardcore mode, people would get so confused as to why breaking glass with their hands hurts them in hardcore but not normal hard survival.
Anyway, the ideas about glass hurting or needing a tool to break is a random and quite frankly, bad, idea. It is a game where your main goal is to build something, making it so you get hurt breaking glass makes it feel unfair, and plus, we can punch cacti (plural of cactus, I think) without getting hurt, so why glass?
The mirror would be fine to put into the game, but it would require a good bit of CPU power (a problem for people running non-gaming computers) and what happens if you place two across from each other on a wall? Mirror-inception or just a blank mirror, either way has a problem (really lagging your computer or just looking weird).
The periscope doesn't really have a point other than decoration, and even at that Mojang doesn't really have 3D modelers who actually make good looking models *cough* hoppers *cough* So even for that it might be kind of pointless.
Unless you are building your house right below the surface and want to see if there is a creeper outside your entrance I can't imagine a practical reason for it.

ragnarock200: awesome, are those things with the creeper faces pistons or furnaces

I'm not a super skilled programmer (or programmer at all), so I not think about bugs and laggs.
Admit that the first versions were very laggy and buggy.
About the cacty, I also think that it should be changed.
I didn't say that breaking glass always hurt.
If you using even the simplest wooden spade you brake it without injury.
The periscope texture problems is not my problems, and I invented that to help people that live under ground.
It kinda annoyed me that you some of the the bad stuff you presented are about the programming, and not about the bigg picture.

Mirrors.
Another thing that should be added is the mirror.
It can help in a few ways:
A great deco item.
You can see things that happens behind you, like a creeper that is behind you.
A crafting ingridient (for another thing)
It can make the game more deatiled.
how to make?
X I G
X I G = 3 M
X I G
X= nothing
I = Iron
G= glass

Periscope.
An another great thing.
Why da **** it should added?!
It can help you see things that above you
A way to look at endermans
A great deco for submarines
how does it work?
The periscope will be 2 blocks high, and will be opened to 3 block if activated by redstone.
You must click the right button on the mouse and you will see the things that the eye is looking at.
You can turn around the periscope by moving while using it.
How to craft?
I X M
M X I = P
I X M
I = Iron
M = Mirror
X = nothing
P= periscope.
Hope you like my idea!

Maybe apply it only to the hardcore mode?
That would be better.
