Some time ago, I was wondering - all of the items in Minecraft have some sort of use. But there are a few items that are still useless!
I instantly thought of a Coral! Of course, they are a great decoration, but still a really neutral thing.
So, I was thinking, and after a couple of minutes, I knew the answer - Use it for potions!
What effect it might add? - Hostile Mob Immunity! (For example, : Potion Of Devizualizing) You will not attract hostile mobs to yourself while the potion works. Maybe just a certain type of those, but I'm not entirely sure if it would be worth it. For the balance, the effect time should be shorter than the others, depending does it even needs to be shortened.
After all, I think this is a pretty good idea for a new potion + use for a useless item.
I hope You like the idea, and... There is not very much more to say!
Maybe You have others thoughts of creating a new potion or use useless items? Comment!
(P. S. The idea might not be new, I don't really know if someone has already published it yet. It just came to my head, and I didn't take it from somewhere. )
Would be balance-breaking in structures, which difficulty relies on mobs defending them, and useless outside of them because most mobs can be mowed with use of regular tools. Duration time won't help.
Potion of invisibility is the thing that is supposed to achieve partial effect of your potion, cutting mob detection radius in half, so it takes the niche of nerfed version of your potion.
I think corals are meant to be pretty decoration of the biomes and nothing else... in real life they have little use outside of decoration and are endangered.
