I understand you don't want players just being able to silktouch the budding amethyst and make massive farms, but please allow us to move them with pistons.
If we can do this it'd be much more convenient to make farms for them and it would still require a lot of effort to move all of them in place.
Currently the crystals from them are farmable, but I've messed around in the snapshot trying to make something work but I cannot put full use to them all due to their random positions in the naturally generated globe.
- It's very inefficient.. -
It would be such an improvement.. I'd love if you'd consider this suggestion.
Gonna say no on this one... While it'd be impractical to do so, letting these be moved with pistons kind of defeats the point of them not being movable because... well, they can be moved.
If the concern is about them being organized a certain way, then perhaps they should only spawn in a certain pattern(s)?
I do not oppose this concept actually!
Moving it with pistons would take a lot of mundane work.

I say no to movable budding amethyst.
I have mixed feelings about the crystals beeing farmable with pistons,
on the other hand the chunk needs to be loaded for regrowth.
I like redstone farms a lot, but should we really be able to go nutz on every resource?
I think it's best they don't move. That makes the crystals special!
Every farm will have a unique design becouse you can't just build block for block from a tutorial,
without actually knowing how or why the farm works.
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q

I think the intent is for them to be farmed manually, instead of being just another auto-farm resource. Makes it more special in a way, too.
