Since the first snapshots of Minecraft Cave and Cliff Update are being released, I want to show my ideas on how to make the experience in the mountains better.

As we already know, Powder Snow causes a freezing effect on entities and this can be nullified by wearing leather armor equipped. It is good that this armor has a good use but when exploring between the frozen mountains, the dangers are immense and a leather armor is not enough for you, and this is where my idea number 1 comes in:
Cold Protection Enchantment
The idea is similar to the Fire Protection that you can put on your armor, depending on the level of the Cold Protection enchantment (The max level is IV) the player or mob will take longer to acquire the freezing effect and its damage will be reduced. Obviously the leather armor will be the best protection against the cold! The idea of this enchantment is to appear on the enchantment table.
But wait, there is still more! How about an enchantment similar to soul speed but applied to snow? And this is where the idea number 2 appears:
Snow Speed Enchantment
Obtaining this enchantment can only be in dungeons, its maximum level is III. It must be clarified that the speed will only be activated in contact with the Powder Snow and that its use will spend the use of the boots, similar to the Soul Speed.
Oof how cold it is!!! I need to warm up!!! And this is where my last idea comes in:
Heat sources
Don't worry, this is not another enchantment (although if you prefer, it can be one ...) A method that does not affect the freezing effect or simply reduce its impact, is a heat source. A torch can alleviate the freezing effect a bit, the fire can alleviate a middle point (also the bonfire) and that if we place lava (either directly place it or in a cauldron) it makes the freezing effect null. Another feature that this can provide is that the powder snow can be melted with high heat sources (fire, lava ...)
These have been my little ideas to make the experience in the mountains better, I hope you liked them
I'd rather see the cheap, unenchanted leather armor be the most optimal option to survive in the snow.

I am against adding more enchantments.
At least, when it comes to adding them to the enchantment table, the fishing lootpool or villager trading.
It's already tedious enough to get what you need through these methods.
If the cold prot / snow speed enchantments can be found as treasure in certain structures or something i'm cool with it.
How ever, i don't think that leather armor isn't enough to protect yourself.
You can add the same enchantments to it, you would add to your netherite stuff.
That would give it a huge boost.
I have no problem with cold biomes becoming a little bit more dangerous,
becouse a weaker armor has the advantige to what we are used to wear.
My projects:
-are abandoned for now. I might pick 'em up in the future.
For now i'm working on a private modpack that suit's my own playstyle.
I am gonna stay in modded 1.12.2 untill my potato dies. No mercy! :Q
