Titanium would be an extremely rare ore found in the end which only generates 1 block per chunk, in the lower end, even rarer than ancient debris. It would be the ultimate tool, after enderite, and would be silver with a slight blue tint. As titanium is a light but strong metal in real life, it would mine stuff extremely fast, have a high attack speed and also have high damage/durability. This would be a trade-off for how rare and dangerous the ore would be collecting, but would also have other special abilities that would make it overpowered unless it would be this difficult to get. It also would have several times more durability than netherite and would require a special forge to repair. It also could generate rarely in end city/ship loot chests. This tool would be the end of the first major phase of the game, and would also be used to make a portal to a new dimension series that would be a whole adventure.
I've said this before: they just finally added a new tier after 10 years, and you want to make it obsolete in a matter of months?
This. Also, rarity does not balance out power. Maybe it does in singleplayer. But once one person has that OP tool/weapon/armor set in multiplayer. nobody will be able to compare to them.

If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
I love Titanium as a metal, and conceptually in minecraft, BUT just adding another material that's "even rarer but stronger" does pretty much nothing good for the game. If you want Titanium, play modded minecraft. I could even whip up a basic Titanium mod in ModMaker for you if that's all you want.
If they added a new tier every few months for the past 10 years, there would be 20 tiers, and a whole lot of resources that would be ignored.
I would rather see a new tier that equals Netherite, but provides different bonuses, and one that preferably comes from the End, creating a sense of duality between the dimensions, with the Overworld caught between.
This would also give the player an actual choice in what kind of armor to wear, instead of there being one best choice, as two equal tiers that provide two different bonuses are situational. Nothing is situationally beneficial in the case of diamond armor over Netherite, nor Netherite over "Titanium".

This ^^
Adding a new tier every couple of months just doesn't make sense to me. I think it would be best if a new tier, the same as netherite, was added to the game but it could give different bonuses. I'm not sure what those bonuses could be though.
Who says new materials have to be better or rarer? Netherite's main draw is the fireproof feature so the only ways to lose them is through 5-minute despawning, inaccessibility of the void, or zombie pickup (and things like being unable to find said mob or switching to peaceful mode).
There could be a new material, say Permantium, that is immune to despawning. Lead could present a constant poisoning effect that prevents zombies from picking it up. Aerite could cause dropped items to not fall (not rise forever like with Levitation, just literally not travel downward).
There are plenty of ability ideas around, the main difficulty will be in where to place them on the current tier scale. If all we ever add is stuff at netherite tier, you're essentially doing the same thing as adding another tier because subjectively we will perceive one ability better than another.
To download the other ones you need to make a folder in the versions folder for minecraft and put the client and JSON file for the versions in there. They all need to be named the same aside from file extensions. Once you do that, you will be able to choose that version when making a new profile with the minecraft launcher.

True, there could be armors that provide bonuses that make up for a lack of protection. Gold already does this by providing a bonus, bartering with piglin, to make up for its inherit weakness.
I would love to see stealth mechanics reworked so the higher the armor tier, the easier the player is to spot. Leather armor would be great for sneaking, and a stealth enchantment could be added (this was discussed as being called "Silent Step")
So, you're rejecting an entire suggestion and potentially good idea because of the timing? That's very irrational.
Alright, so a higher tier could be added in the future. But, how much more protection could it provide before making the game have no challenge at end game. A rework of armor balancing would probably have to be implemented to fix this.
What would you suggest as an alternative? I guess you could argue that it's part of the game's design, style, or the dev's intentions for there to be a tier unmatched by anything.
The different armors coming with bonuses too would be interesting. I know I mentioned stealth being redone previously, so in that case, Netherite would make up for its inability to stealth with shear protection, for example.

Exactly what I said, gold armour is a noticeable exception and turtle helmets the other one (we all forget those because raising turtles is such a long process, getting water breathing or respiration is easier, just like iron vs leather). I'd actually love to see balanced armour - leather easier to get, chainmail stronger than iron, etc. But the unmatched tier thing is quite real. I think netherite armour should slow down players who wear it due to weight, explaining knockback resistance.. On the other hand, leather armour should allow for extra stealth, for instance, especially if dyed similar colours to the area.
I think that the higher the tier of armor, the slower the player becomes, but not dramatically. Each tier could slow the player by about 2%, that way it's only really noticed much at iron armor, and with Netherite, you feel like a tank, a bit slower, but nearly invulnerable.
Now, I know players don't like nerfs, so instead make it a buff. They could increase the player's running speed by about 5%. With each tier decreases movement speed by 2%, (gold and chainmail armor sharing the same speed reduction level), Netherite at the last fifth tier would reduce speed by 10%, but only 5% of the original movement speed due to the 5% buff to normal, unarmored movement speed. I'll make it a bit simpler by listing it.
-unarmored: +5% speed to current speed
-leather: +3%...
-gold/chainmail: +1%...
-iron: -1%...
-diamond: -3%...
-Netherite: -5%...
With this implemented, wearing leather armor would make you still quite fast, but have some protection and capacity to sneak. For those concerned with pvp, a leather wearing player could try to outmaneuver a Netherite wearing player, but would never be able to tank nearly as much damage.
A note on the chainmail armor you mentioned though: chainmail is good for protecting against cutting edges, but not against blunt force trauma. So, until they include blunt weapons, chainmail could have an innate projectile protection bonus. But, chainmail should still protect less that iron (plate) armor, as it is so flexible that it doesn't protect from the previously mentioned blunt force trauma.

Axes are already blunt weapons. A quick Google search confirmed this. Woodcutting axes have a flat side to help it tear through wood easier, so that side would be used for blunt attacks. By comparison, full-on battleaxes would be sharp due to having double-edged heads for extra injury. And since Minecraft has woodcutting axes with optional combat abilities, they perfectly fit in as blunt weapons.
I still want shovels to become weapons similar to maces, though.

I see axes as an edge weapon, considering they do have a blade. I can see your point that they're pretty blunt, but they are used for cutting, or rather chopping. Some games do make a distinction between slicing, chopping, and bludgeoning weapons, so maybe it could be done that way too.
But, hopefully true blunt weapons make an appearance sometime in the future.
Enough of these tiers! They just made another, extremely-hard-to-access-one, and you want more?!
If you wish, make a resource + language pack where you replace Netherite Scrap with titanium, and netherite ingots and tools with its composite with other metals!

They've got a point. Netherite was just added, why add another tier so soon?
I like having progression and adding new tiers within months of each other. I also am making a mod with it.

I feel like having two competing best armours would cause a lot of unhappiness for people who want to be the BEST PRO111!
Well, they can, just that they'll have to decide on what bonuses they prefer.
And I bet there will be fierce fighting and calls for an undo.
