Tungsten is something I thought of for Minecraft, seeing as it could be useful for a few things.
Wolframite (Tungsten Ore) () would be found 0-30 blocks above the Bottom of the map, and as common as Redstone. When smelted, it would produce a Tungsten Ingot () that could be used in crafting things like:
Lightbulb
Can be activated/deactivated with Redstone and a generator, light level of 15.
Battery
Used to power Headlamps and make Generators.
Generator
Place things inside the squares to charge/recharge them, the more things there are, the slower they charge (default is 30 seconds, every extra item adds 15 seconds and every lightbulb wired to it adds 5 seconds).
Headlamp
Right click with no tool selected to activate/deactivate, goes in head slot, emits light level of 14, lasts 10 minutes before going out, can also have a battery plugged in to add 5 minutes of light, power is shown via durability and can be recharged)
I also thought of Tungsten wires craftable from a Tungsten Ingot, but I didn't think it would be a great idea, but if you think otherwise I'd like to hear your opinion.
And I know some of you will go, "Minecraft isn't supposed to be modern, it's supposed to be medieval!" but if that's true, why would we have Electricity (Redstone), Portals, Sulphur/Gunpower and TNT? And since Wolframite can naturaly be found and not artificialy be made (like steel), why not add it?
I like the idea! I would love it if the range of the light bulb's light was twice that of a torch. Right now, to keep crap from spawning in my house I have to have so many torches it's stupid, my house would have burned down IRL.

So, you think minecraft is medieval huh? TNT(1863)/Dynamite(7 May 1867) and steel railways(1857) in medieval times? I call BS, sure there's armor and swords, but it's NOT medieval. Either give me a source or cram it!
