Bored of playing single player, so I figured why not.
Not gonna bother with a whitelist; if you want to join go right ahead. Just keep in mind that if griefing gets too out of hand, I will shut the server down or turn it over to someone else to fix. Only running now because joining someone else's server is too much hassle.
Also not gonna bother with explaining what technic pack is or how it's installed. If you don't have it installed, go do it. If you don't know how to install it, that's what google's for.
Anyway. I'm using the default server because I don't think it's supported on bukkit yet, which means no plugins. If people are still playing here by the time it's released, I'll switch over and start considering other features to add (commands, economy and such).
So, I'll be on rather infrequently, but at least once a day. If you have any questions and I'm not on minecraft, either post here or pm me.
The server is located at 72.235.246.137, so, join.

Sorry to trouble you, what do I need to install IN the technic pack?
Sorry I haven't been checking this. I had tried hosting on a different computer earlier, and needed to switch the port-forwarding as a result. Simply forgot to switch it back afterwards, so I was sitting in my server wondering why no one was coming on. :|
Anyone know where i can download a good 1.8 jar file? any of the ones I've tried haven't worked so far.
Go delete .minecraft from your %appdata%/roaming and download minecraft again (back up saves server i.ps etc) and get MCnostolgia run it shhose 1.8.1 get the technic pack smp client run installer join server
Aight Whitelist me if you ever choose to make one :smile.gif: Awesome although I detect chests copied by MCedit?
You're misinformed. If you hook up a quarry to multiple chests, it'll sort items into those chests one at a time, thus making the stacks in each chest appear fairly similar.
The only mods currently being used are the ones found in the technic pack, though if we were going to use MCedit, we'd hardly need to spawn chests full of cobble and un-smelted ores now would we? :smile.gif:
Somebody (not pointing any fingers, but very few people had access to tnt due to mobs being off) decided it would be a good idea to set up a tnt-trap near the spawn-point.
It's a classic prank no doubt, but it's no secret by now that I don't exactly have the greatest setup out there. My computer only barely just manages to run both the server and the game client at once, so while had anyone else triggered the trap things might've been fine, the fact that I had triggered it meant my computer went straight to blue-screen.
This in turn caused the server files to go corrupt. No, there aren't any backups (aside from the server only being a week old, I never meant to put that much work into this in the first place), so if I'm unable to recover the world, it's likely it'll be started over, if at all.
Also, the server will be down until I finish backing up the files on my computer, in case something like this happens again (if my computer dies, so does the server, so keep that in mind).
Lastly, I will only run this server until bukkit support is released. I can't afford to upgrade my hardware currently, neither do I have money to spare for outside hosting. So, unless someone with a better setup than me chooses to host, or someone is gracious enough to donate towards a hosted server, don't invest too much time here, because the server will be coming down.
I will send copies of the new world (or old one if i can recover it) to anyone who wants one. Also, I thank everyone for supporting the server so far, and long live technic SMP! :smile.gif:
Alright, so as an update, it seems the damages to my computer were much more severe than I had originally thought (in fact, my computer is now completely dead), so the server wont be coming back online.
I do apologize to anyone who feels disappointed with this development, but believe me, no one is more disappointed with it than I am.
Thanks to everyone who participated in my server, hopefully I'll be running another one sometime in the future, so be on the lookout.

Ill join in a few

You need the SMP version, it's different than the single player.
I'm pretty sure that all the optional mods that you select when installing it aren't required, but I honestly haven't bothered to check.
At this point in time either his computer shut off or he shut down server hopefulkly itll be back shortly
Sorry about the mishap, it should be working now.
