I'm using the John Smith Legacy resource pack. The main reason why I switched to it was because the Minecraft villagers mostly didn't look like Minecraft villagers. They actually look good. You know, like humans.
The exceptions are the cleric and librarian. Incredibly, they are even uglier than the original Minecraft villagers.
Then again there's the pretense that some of the villagers are women, when they all look like men.
I'm looking for some way to change the librarian and cleric into reasonable-looking people - preferably women - without the ugly down-hanging nose. Would just a skin do it? If so, where can I find them? If not, what do I have to do?
Hello JerryAttrick,
You would have to contact the creators of resource pack. A skin is designed for a player's model, whereas the villager model is slightly different. My suggestion to you is find some villager models that you like, and replace the one's in the texture pack, if the authors allow that kind of thing. Make sure you check with them.
Have a good one,
Jakefett
yeah with the long nose the big ears i think it looks just like a human,
better not run from a creeper i is not as smart as he looks,
Actually it dosen't look like a human

I have been in touch with the current maintainers of the John Smith Legacy pack. Still awaiting a response ....
I tried putting a different face on the cleric, complete with removing the extra section of the skin that covered that out-jutting, down-hanging nose. The nose was still there, but it was all white. Looked even uglier that previously.
So the "new" villager animations on which you hang the skins are different from the original animations. I have found the skins (obviously) within the resource pack, but nowhere else can I find anything that relates to the villagers, or even any way that tells the game to use an alternate animation. I tried moving a new skin onto an old skin but it doesn't remove the nose!
I checked out the John Smith Legacy web sites and found some interesting alternatives but none of them pertained to the villagers.
So far I'm not getting anywhere.
