Here is my latest video tutorial. It's a binary based, variable delay, redstone timer. This timer is a modified version of AEtherimp's original variable delay timer. AEtherimp deserves most of the credit for this device because it was his original idea and he figured out how to do most of the redstone wiring for it.
Here is my tutorial:
AEtherimp has also made a tutorial for my modified version here:
And this is AEtherimp's original variable delay timer design which I modified:
The intended purpose for this timer is for single button activated TNT cannnons. You can see applied examples of the variable timer in my 360 Cannon video and my Underwater 360 Cannon video.

is there a way that you could move the wiring around so that you could stack a second set of 4 dispenser on top of the first 4? i'm curious to see just how many you could get firing at once like that, even if you would never need that many at once for supplies

I got a bit of a challenge for all you water-wizards here:
I'm trying to design a water-elevator that works on minecarts, based on the minecart dispenser Etho displayed in his first post. Whereas the device pictured is able to drop minecarts, the one I have in mind would be able to lift them to whatever height is required.
In the limited experimentation I've done so far, I've discovered a few things:
1.) Minecarts are able to pass through a space of 1x1.
2.) Boats are not able to pass through a similarly sized space.
3.) For a minecart to fall onto a boat, a hole two spaces deep must be dug, then filled with water and the boat resting on top.
4.) If a minecart is on top of a boat, the boat will not rise or fall in the water. (Still unsure about this one)
Ok Ethos and entourage: if you can figure some way to cause a minecart to move vertically up, you will have my eternal gratitude, and the thanks of people everywhere.
Very nice.
But as it seemed in teh first video about the falling minecarts with chests.
That was brilliant,
but the problem is, it looked like they just keep falling down.
now it would be really epic if they went back up somehow. say a booster and some minetracks?
I may put that little neato contraption somewhere in my house....
But thanks for priviewing it and bringing it to my attention.

Yes, that is the idea. It is essentially the same thing as a door booster with a few notable differences.
Main Disadvantages:
- it's larger
- slightly more complicated
Main Advantages:
- can drop 1 or many mine carts at once
- mine carts fall directly below
- it works with other things besides mine carts, such as items, mobs, players, and with some slight modification... it can even drop a stack of boats

I love all of your stuff, can't wait to check this thread regularly :wink.gif:
I am especially curious about the mob water elevator, maybe a video showing the mechanics?

You should give us a world save of that boat station. Would be helpful in being able to examine it more.
I happen to love redstone and wouldn't mind remaking it, but can't do something blindly.
I have tons of redstone inventions. including
-A light up wall (a big wall full of redstone torches, and the other side has levers so I can display things on the wall, ie; writing)
-4 minecart stations (2 in the nether, 2 out of)
-A 3 button combination lock into my vault with an added alarm and lock.
-A TNT drop station on the surface that drops 8 TNT into a pit to drill down into the earth.

That video is hilarious. I'ma go make me one of those.
You would need to do it something like this:
= Water Source
= Water Stream
= Pressure Plate
So the boat goes up and then right.
