If you're willing to pay, Fraps has the smallest performance impact of any screen recording software I've used. OBS is also pretty lightweight and can stream to Twitch and the like, and for free software it's surprisingly easy to set up.

Hey, buddy! Thanks for your idea, very inspiring! And here I recommend one application which is also worth your attention. It is a web application offered by ShowMore website. Among all the free recording tools, I consider it as the best screen recorder. Without any watermark or lags, I can record game videos as well as my narration from microphone at the same time. And it contains a real time editing feature which can make my video more vivid. It really can be listed on your thread!
Hi!
Recently I've made a YouTube with my brother, and we were thinking:
"What's the best recording software, free and paid?"
We thought a lot of people must ask themselves this, so I decided to make this thread!
Free SoftWare
BandiCam:
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
BandiCam is best used for a starting channel, it is lightweight, and I recommend it.
BandiCam can also can be used to take screenshots.
FRAPS:
Pros:
Cons:
Best Uses:
This is best used if you pay for it. I highly discourage using FRAPS. The full version is widely popular with YouTubers
Ice Cream Screen Recorder:
Pros:
Cons:
TechSmith Snagit (Chrome Extension):
Pros:
Cons:
Open BroadCaster Software (OBS)
Pros:
I will add more Programs later if it is in high demand...
Programs Coming Soon:
Replay Mod,
More As Requested
As an aspiring (did I spell that right?) Youtuber, I thank you.
Added 1 More Program!
OBS would be good to add.
OBS. Totally.
