If not, I believe Apple lets you download it. Private message me if that doesn't work because I know of ways that work but require some complicated things that I could not explain here.

I use QuickTime too, for those who don't know how to do auto just click new screen recording and then click the arrow and select the mic you want to use. If you want an example of what it looks like here's one of my videos
Screenflow is quite expensive, but it works really well and is fantastically easy to use. They have a streaming software too but it's too much money for me at $500.
Quicktime player, in 10.7 and higher, will record for you. But it records one audio source -- that means if you are recording your microphone, you get at best the audio echo. That's not very good.
It is possible to use quicktime player, linein, soundflower, and mumbo-jumble-hocus-pocus to do everything -- linein copies microphone to soundflower, quicktime player records sound flower, and you output to soundflower and speakers. But it is NOT 100% perfect. The audio duplication will sometimes fail, and sometimes just be off. I cannot get lineIn to work on my machine at all, but it does work on other people's machines.
SnagIt works, and works well. But be aware of the limitations:
1. 15 FPS.
2. Mono input.
3. Use at least version 2.2.0 (76934) -- earlier version WOULD and WILL ruin your recordings if you are not lucky on long recordings. Do not use 2.1.5. Trust me on this.
SnagIt was designed for short recordings.
2.1.5 would, on occasion, die at the end of a long recording and the resultant file was worthless.
2.2.0 has died at the end of a recording once for me, and was able to recover it the next time I launched the program.
Camtasia/Mac ...
Camtasia//Mac, version 2.4.1, does work really, really well. 30 FPS, good sound, the ability to record both microphone and system audio at the same time (a built-in version of soundflower that works better without the audio loss), plus a really good editor at the same time -- that is my current software program of choice for recording and editing.
But ... earlier versions ... <shudder> Horrible.
If you had lag/stuttering/audio sync issues with last year's version of camtasia, give this new one a try. It works very, very well for me.

... did I really ask that?
Thanks for that great post Keybounce... I was actually just wondering about Camtasia for the mac, I loved using it with my pc, have to give it a try. Currently I am using Screenflow and it works okkay... I have problems where it freezes all the time when saving files but it never fails to save... just gotta deal with the beach ball for a little =p
On anything with about less than 6 GB of ram it does lag your computer a lot. I have a macbook air with 4GB of ram and I can record using quicktime fairly well with about 30 fps.
Quicktime does record, and well, but with these issues:
1. 10 GB per hour for 480p minecraft.
2. Only one audio channel (cannot record game and microphone, unless you are using "speakers echo to the microphone", low quality audio method.)

I use an app called Good Screen Recorder Lite. Look it up in the Mac App Store. It doesn't lag and I can easily edit them with iMovie. It never lags either Hope I helped :)Good Screen Recorder Lite is also free and features everything Screen Capture Pro has.
I have a few things that probably would help.
Installing OptiFine Mod will give you an FPS boost, making it not so much lag. Also, you should allocate Minecraft more RAM, video here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1395030-tutorial-allocate-more-memory-for-minecraft/
These things together will make minecraft run faster, creating less lag when recording.
Other then that i use quicktime, and with these it runs fine.
I would allocate about 4 gigs

Well, You could go with Screenium available here:http://www.syniumsoftware.com/screenium/
Its pretty cheap $60. There is a summer sale in which you can get this at only 30$!
Its works so good NO LAG, with an in software video editor. No problems at all I use this for my Vids.
I also use that and it never lags. The only complaint I have with Quicktime on the Mac is that the video appears a bit darker when you re-watch it. Other than that, it's free and already built in. I recorded my audio with it also and then edited it together in iMovie for my first Let's Play series.
If you'd like to see an example of it, here's the link to episode 1:
QuickTime makes the graphics change, thats why I am also trying to find a new one.
Exactly what issue are you having with quicktime player for recording? I had no problems with it when I used it. (Well, more accurately: it did the recording without issue, the issue was that I wanted it to do more than it was able to do.)

my friend has the same problem.... because his quicktime is basiclly glitched so no capture/recording 4 him unless he uses a program that only record 4 3 minutes
I've tried recording with QuickTime too, but I can't figure out a way to record system audio. I've tried using Soundflower, but it isn't working. What is the best audio recorder on the Mac App Store that records system audio as well (and isn't overly laggy)?
on mac you just get it for free no paying, no download, just there
The video was removed due to a copyright claim. This is obviously illegal.
