I don't know how you've had trouble with ScreenFlow, you probably had a terrible render setting with a low bit rate. You need a little bit of knowledge to use ScreenFlow. Also, Quicktime doesn't capture in-game audio, which you can however change with Soundflower, but even then it lacks many features that a professional screen recorder should have such as 1-click recording, pausing and stopping which ScreenFlow of course has. I've tested out Camtasia and all other reputable screen recorders and Camtasia is extremely limited with their built-in editor and only has features that I'd never use (as a gamer, Camtasia is good for making tutorials on the desktop). Of course you're entitled to your opinion but I'm simply stating how I feel, I hope you understand, I'm not trying to offend anyone.
the problem with quicktime is you cannot record both microphone and audio from the game. You can use sound flower to record the game, but then you cannot hear the game, and you have to record yourself separately, and put the 2 audio clips in a recording together. its a pain in the ass.
no, not if you just turn up your volume and record what comes out of the speaker...

That works, and I did that for quite a while but to be honest it sounds like crap, and why not just get something that works flawlessly instead of somewhat performing it's job.
ok. check out this video on screenflick, free, no lag, mac. awesome. watch on youtubeand i use a mac with only 4gb of ram people!!!!!! his screeflick is so much more awesome than dumbass fraps, quictime player, or anything else!!!!!!!! (mac) only. too bad for windows people.
oh and, when you are making tutorials that dont use minecraft, it has up to 60 FPS, when you are using minecraft, up to 45FPS, because mineraft uses alot of ram, but never mind, it is still reall yno lag and it is FREE BECAUSE OF THIS AWESOME YOUTUBER THAT POSTED THIS AMAZING VIDEO PEOPLE.
I doubt that the OP is still looking for a screen recorder over half a year later from when he posted.
Probably true, but I feel this has turned into more of a general question of the community and a thread for sharing ideas of what we feel is the best screen recorder.

Actually no I did find a way to setup both in game audio and microphone audio, it takes forever to setup and you can't use skype when doing it so it isn't the best.
I would say Camtasia is the best I have found I haven't used it very much and you do have to mess around with reinstalling it sometimes but I think it's good.
