Today, I was recording some gameplay (with fraps, for the first time), and realised that the game was lagging allot. So I tried recording with a minimised screen, and it worked much better! (higher FPS)
So, I was wondering, why is that? And how can I get that performance on full screen?
The main reason for the FPS change is because it is recording at a higher resolution. The bigger the window you record, the slower it will go. The easiest way to increase FPS is to close any other programs running while you are recording. If that doesn't help, you probably need to upgrade your PC or turn down your Minecraft settings.

could also be the read/write of the drive... not necessarily processor/gfx power (at higher resolutions this can happen, because fraps files are fairly raw - therefore quite large file-wise)
But yea, windowed mode allows you better control of the footage (and its generally a good idea to have the 'recorded footage' be the same resolution as the 'rendered footage', as any resizing will create artifacts/fuzz - so if you release at 720p, record at 720p for best results)
