Try dropping that render distance to as low as it can go with the help of optifine. Mess with your video settings for max fps, then record with something lightweight.
I am having the same problem. Here are my specs:
- 32 bit OS
- Intel Core i3 M 380 2.53 GHz
- 4.00 gb RAM (3.29 GB usable)
- Windows 7 Ultimate
- Intel R HD graphics
- Laptop
Also I have the FPS enhancer lag decreaser visual enhancer mod called OptiFine for 1.4.5. HDUB3, I believe. I turn many animations on and off, and I have a modified version of the Vattic's Faithful 32x32 texture pack. It even lags when recording in Flatlands, from 4 to 11 FPS at most. I have used Camtasia, Bandicam, Fraps and DXTory.
Another question; I want to get the unmodified version of the Alienware M14x R2. Will that run FRAPS and Minecraft with no problem, smoothly on servers and other high quality stuff? ATM I just want reccomondations on my crappy laptop.

Let me explain something..
Both Minecraft and all the Recording Programs you use heavily reduce your PC/Laptop's Performances cause they both use a ton of RAM. (Say " Hi " to your new Captain Obvious).
My Laptop's an Acer Aspire 4752G ( 2.2GHz - i3 , 4GB - RAM, GC: NVIDIA Geforce GT520M CUDA 1GB RAM ) and i was able to Record on a Server with 100+ People at 20/30+ FPS with Fancy Graphics, Far Render Distance and a 256x Texture pack. All of this with FRAPS.
You can either give Minecraft some more RAM (2048 Minimum, 4096 Max - 4GB only) or just get a better PC.
Or, if you have a Desktop, you could buy AverMedia's Game Capture HD. It's an excellent Capture card with a great included Recording Software, and it doesn't even take a lot of RAM to use. Like, half than FRAPS takes.
Also, if you have a good HD Camcoder you could always try recording with the " Old way ".
And, yes. I'm your average Italian Captain Obvious.
LOOK AT MEH, IMMA COOK SOME PIZZA 'N SPAGHETTI WHILE I TELL YOU THE OBVIOUS !
If it is a matter of RAM I got the same as you do; 4 gigs; I think its my graphics card. Its an Intel HD

... now that's a bit of an odd resurrection there... simply put, there is no way to stop a performance hit when recording, it's just the nature of the beast (realize, you're essentially creating and writing a LOT of data every second of recording - that's gonna hurt any system's performance).
The most basic thing that a lot of people overlook is going to be harddrive read/write speeds - that is why most serious (or even hobby) game recording rigs run dual harddrives - a play drive and a record-to drive. This cuts away one of the most major overlooked bottlenecks. While ram, processor, gpu, etc. are all very important, they're also very obvious (and sadly are only part of the equation - the 'creating' end... you still have the entire half of shipping/storing all that data on the fly as you play). This is also why a lot of people can record with seemingly 'crap' machines (hell, when I first started I was recording reliably with a Athlon 64 X2 4600+, 2gb ram, with a GeForce 8600 GT 512mb - I've upgraded since then, but yea)

Intel is never the greatest for it's graphics. Just get like a better graphics card. What is your motherboard specs? I can tell you if you can get a better CPU.
I recommend using Mirillis Action. I Use It And It Records Without A Framerate Drop. I recommend At least Having 4Gb of Ram Is You Are Recording Gameplay Though

Don't ask me about prebuilts. The answer is the same. Waste of money.
You really kinda need a AMD graphics card and a AMD cpu!!
to record with direct active window recorder and it will need to be a good specs
ORRR you could record directly from your graphics card with many differnt methods include direct sofware or a camcorder (Frikkin confsing)!
You Definantly Don't Know What You Are Talking About. You Are Just A AMD Fanboy. I admit that AMD has some good CPUs But you don't need one to record Active windows. Most Youtubers have Intel Processors.

If you're looking for best price for power, I would actually go with AMD processors - though if you're going for raw power, Intel will win out... as far as graphics cards, that's up to debate - I currently have an nVidia card, but I'm definitely considering ATI/AMD for my next system... once they solve some of their cooling issues.
The thing that drives me nuts, is so many people think you need a bleeding edge computer to record... my current rig is my 'economy build', ran me about $1000 when I built it... and I only had to do that because my old computer from 2008 finally started giving up the ghost (it served me well, and most of my videos from 2012 were recorded on it).
I use Bandicam and I only drop about 15-20 FPS while recording and I also use Optifine. Maybe try messing around with Optifine's settings and make the game get a higher framerate. Hope this helped you!
I have the same problem but it had got solved by recording with open broadcast software (obs) its premium free software its so good with no drop in FBS if you adjusted your settings well some of the best you tubers record with ob . (Landon mc) his gameplay is very good no lag
It depends on your computer/laptop I have your same specs
Ivan record singular player very well but some lagy servers icant record

You can search ShowMore website and find it offers an free online screen recording application. It works pretty well while recording gameplays when you play Minecraft in windows mode. Anyway, it is worth a recommendation.
I have recently set up a YouTube channel and wish to record some gameplay of Minecraft to upload to the channel.
I have tried to use:
Bandicam (free)
Fraps (free)
Camstudio
.....and all of them drop my FPS, noticeably in videos.
It is weird, but Fraps shows me under 10 FPS when recording, and then when I review the video, it is in upwards of 50 FPS.....? How is that possible?
___
I run using 1 mod, called OptiFine. And nothing I have tried to record works without lag. A bit of an FPS drop is fine, but not THIS noticeable!
Specs:
AMD V140 processor
ATI Mobility Radeon graphics card
2 GB ram usable
____
Gah! I am tearing my hair out over this. I have been recording to an external 1 TB hard drive, and it isn't helping.
Please help!

I found this and it helped improve my fps, btw I use camtasia studio 8 and I get 30-50 fps
