I am very new to any recording program. Let say I'm a newbie of all these hard time. I want a recording program that is recommended with high fps, 740p, smooth gameplay, compressed video.
My computer is:
Dell Dimension 5150 (modified computer)
Window XP Professional
Intel Pentium 4 (3.20Ghz) (4 cores)
Nvidia GeForce 5400
1 tb hardrive (about 54 gb used)
6 gb ram
What recording software is smoothly great and dosen't eat up your hardrive space?
Easy to use software too, because I'm a noob
I've tried fraps, but the file size is too big and I want to change the size to mp4. It's also hard to use and I keep pressing random button and I don't know how to stop it. I'm not a expert on computer, so please provide more information if you tell me to use any codec because I don't know how it works.

when you record with fraps, you generally use an editing program to change to a compressed file for upload (it's basically the end-step of editing, when you set it up to render) - I don't think there's any format that records explicitly to mp4 off the top of my head. FRAPs really is the -most- 'user friendly' of the recorders as far as its plug-n-play ability (there's so few settings you can fiddle with that will completely break it, and it really is just 'push button to start') - A lot of people are swearing by Bandicam on here lately, I'm personally a fan of DxTory - but both of these are codec-related, which involves installing the proper codec and editing settings in the program to record exactly how you want.
I've never used hypercam, so I can't attest to its reliability or usability.

It might be a bit difficult to setup though.
No flaws.
