hey im wondering if anyone else has been having this problem.
it started about 3 weeks ago. before that i was able to monetize any of my minecraft videos with no problem.
now every time i do it youtube says it needs more information before it will allow it. and i keep telling them notch gave verbal permission for anyone on youtube to monetize there videos using monecraft.
does anyone else have this problem, and if you were able to solve it how did you?
I have heard of other YouTubers having problems with this.
I would contact the YouTube support team, even though this can be a long process, as the solution can be specific for your case and different to anyone else's.
If you have any further questions, feel free to quote this post to get me back or send me a PM.
Myself I have uploaded a few videos and I've never had this kind of problem but do as Foldager says and contact the support team, would probably be the best solution.
I had the same problem with two of my videos, but every video before and since was fine. The two vids where the problem lies were in the middle of a series too. I've had a couple of ideas as to what the problem could be:
Tags - If you put certain words as tags youtube seems to automatically flag them. But it does give you a warning on screen so unless you've seen that then it's probably not your tags
Trolls - Have you had any problems with youtube trolls? My problem came at a time when I had someone putting hateful comments on my videos for no reason. I know it's possible to report videos, and that the process is handled by an automatic system, like everything else. I suspect the system prefers to take the cautious route and suspends the monetisation of any videos that get reported unless the uploader can provide proof that they have the rights to that content. It's stupid really because it means people can make troll accounts and disrupt other's channels for no other reason than they are pissy little kids with nothing better to do.
I strongly suspect that it's a troll that was causing me problems as I am fairly cautious with tags; it could be the same for you.
hmm, i havent thought of that, i did get 1 thumbs down on 1 of the videos but its only happened once, and i think its my first thumbs down ive ever gotten.
Trolls etc shouldn't be causing this issue. You need to provide proof of consent, simply stating you have verbal consent is not enough to tell YouTube you have all rights to legally profit from someone else's work.
Have you given them proof of written consent?
If not, you need to quote them some information from the Terms of Use and Brand Guidelines from minecraft.net found here: http://minecraft.net/terms and here: http://minecraft.net/brand
The above quotes and links should suffice if you include these when submitting the extra information they request
