Just got back into Minecraft after almost a decade of being away, and looking for advice on new LetsPlay channel. I know Minecraft LetsPlay channels have been done A MILLION times before, but I will be adding various other games to the channel as I go. For now, what do you guys look for in a Minecraft LetsPlay? Mods? Adventures? Comedy? Crazy buildings?
I watched the video, and it's very good! I'm going to have to keep up with this in the future. I have noticed some things about the video you could improve on, though, and from my own experience in YouTube I have other things you can improve on:
Don't try to imitate other YouTubers. Don't ever think that your content isn't as good as other Minecraft YouTubers because you are not others. You are you, and as such do whatever crazy things you want to do. Inspiration is fine, but don't rely too heavily on what others are doing.
Functionality works. If you want to stay a minimalist then don't force yourself to improve.
Don't overexert on putting the videos together. When I go through my clips to edit I notice how much I record story moments to give people an idea of what's going on. I toss them out because I can't put too much story into something; it doesn't fit my video style of "look at this funny thing that happened while I was playing."
Playlists. I cannot stress this enough. If somebody gets hooked on a video they'll be able to easily glide through the rest with minimal effort.
Tag your video under Youtube Gaming Minecraft. It'll appear at some point when it's searched for. Try to come up with fitting tags, too. With the tags I put on, my videos have been recommended to others over 3,000 times, even though they're not very popular, all because of tags.
I really appreciate your succinct advice! Since I uploaded my first video, I have been on a crash-course on how to create enticing videos, and a lot of your recommendations and advice jive with what I have been learning, in addition to new things such as creating Playlists which I had not yet thought of. Love this community! Thanks again!
I am pretty new to the recording / streaming gig. I hope to keep to short, 20-25 min playing sessions, and usually that means editing one of my usual 2hr+ gaming marathons. I will definitely try both out!
Your doing great, inspirations are clear, but the usual for first few videos to give people any idea, but obviously form your own character, and it seems you have or know how you want to do this so that's good. Exploration/building are usually good, but mining can be boring sometimes or be likely a journey to a lack conversation points I find. Upload schedules you'll work out as you go so I won't say much there since you'll know what suits. And most others have said the usual and recommended points already by the looks for things.
If your up for a modded let's play I'd be open to a co-op if you'd like, since I have a 1.12.2 modpack I'd been to do videos on that's lightweight and supposed to also be beginner friendly (yes niche mods, but to start/fit with mods of a new and beginner stage rather than the big mainstream mods which take not much to learn but are lot to take in at first). Or maybe some datapacks/mods from later versions (1.13/1.14 snapshots) since I sort of specialise in those versions these days. Since I have 2 channels.
I'm very low on subs myself since I just got into starting a new channel to focus on other aspects and 'talking with a mic' compared to my 'subtitling' past and beginner skills/lack of time or motivation before with YouTube back in 2016-2017 which I stopped with, but I know what I'm after for my 2018+ video content now.
Thanks for your comments as well man, I totally agree. After watching the latest vid a few times, the mining aspect must be the part most lacking interest. Perhaps there are ways to make this part of the game look as exhilarating on camera as it does when being played, but for now I might stick to the exploration / creative building endeavors.
I was able to visit your channel and I would definitely be up for a co-op Let's Play using either a modded or current snapshot version of the game! Do you have google HangOuts, Teamspeak, or Discord where we could connect and chat about this?
I do have discord, I was going to put my discord information in the same post but then forgot. Here you go: Discord: SuntannedDuck2, #1856

I'm open to anything as long as it's 1.12.2+ for mods or datapacks. I do obviously focus on 1.13/1.14 modding and datapacks of course these days. I don't have any modpacks made for these versions yet (and it's hard to make curse allow 1.13/1.14 modpacks since you can't with Twitch 'officially' to export). But still, we can come up with something together I don't mind.

My quick tip is just to remember that the longer you go into thing's, the less awkward everything get's, the more you just start to have a feel for what your doing. Show yourself and who you are, do the video's you enjoy doing most, because it will show if you like what your doing. I think you will do great with everything, and I wish you the best on your YouTube journey ^-^

I really like the "under the influence" thing! Don't make too many episodes in a row ;P
I've noticed that the video quality is a bit fuzzy. I'd suggest checking your export settings in whatever video editing software you're using. There might be something there you can play with and get visually higher quality videos.
My other critiques have already been said so that's all I'm going to type haha.

My two main points if none of that made sense:
Don't worry, for a beginning YouTuber you're doing great.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
have you tried just practicing on twitch? you can get into some fun stuff with others on a discord voice channel
Thanks VolcanoBomber458!
