My son is interested in creating his own Minecraft games. For example, a Parkour game in which others can log-in, spawn at a certain position and go through the course. He is quite good at playing Minecraft, but we are not sure where to begin with creating our own game. I would like to get him one or a few tutorials to get him started. I can make payment through PayPal or another agreed convenient secure method.
Hello, I just came across your post and think I may be able to help. I am a freelance software developer specialising on web and mobile applications (including mobile games) and I also do business consulting and teach programming. I would be happy to take a 30 minute trial session with you and your son to discuss what sort of things he would like to learn. I would suggest that a good way to start would be to use minecraft command blocks to build minigames in minecraft. I can also teach him how to set up servers using Linux and how to use cloud services like Google Cloud Platform and AWS.
I can also teach Java as well as other programming languages however before jumping into that I would need to know a little more about how confident he is with the tasks above (command blocks and setting up servers).
If you'd like to discuss this further feel free to email me at [email protected].
