Finally, progress has been made again!!
A luxurious shopping plaza, surrounded by spacious apartments with plenty of places to relax and take time out from a busy city life.
I really like how this area turned out, the buildings in the background I redesigned three times before I was finally happy with it.
The fountain I think creates a nice focal point. It's irregular deign fits in with nice and neat surroundings, it isn't my normal style of building however I'm happy I did it. The whole area lights up beautifully at night, in general I'm glad a with how much effort I put into it.
Please let me know what you think of this area,
Please also check out my other threads and follow me on twitter for more updates @MCcitybuilder15
P.s I'm sorry I can't upload more then five pics at a time
Well done! i love the geometric design on the buildings as well. It's very modern and gives a very interesting visual element! The diagonal fountain really helps to echo that geometric design as well.

Thank you !!
The white diagonal lines were a last minute addition as i thought the buildings looked a little bare without them, and yes I think the strange shape of the fountain provides nice contrast to the rest of the plaza which is very formally built,
Thank you for your comment!

I worked on this yesterday and added a few finishing touches today.
A large 30 floor tower constructed from quartz the tower provides nice contrast and height to the apartment buildings that stand next to it. The building, despite it's height doesn't look out of place at the edge of the shopping plaza, providing a luxurious work space.
Despite being plain in design I don't feel the building needs an extra pattern on the outside as I think it's simplicity speaks louder then any extra design ever would do,
however please let me know of your opinions on it and keep checking back soon for more updates!!

The first subway station is born.
I'm gonna be honest I had absolutely no idea how this was gonna turn out but wow I am happy with my result!!
All I new is I wanted the glass panel in the wall and that the trains had to run side by side and not run too deep underground.
I had no other ideas for what I wanted but within a couple of hours of playing around I came to this design.
One thing that I plan on changing for this city is building each individual station with a different design, this differs from my old one as I just copied and pasted each station and just changed the colour depending on the line.
But I think the fact I'm changing that for this world will give it that extra sense of care and thought.
This station that has been built is for my recently completed plaza, I'm yet to come up with a name for it.
I don't think I will upload pictures of each individual station unless they look really good or serve a particular purpose.
I am also going to need names for nine subway lines each is going their own colour so if you have any ideas for Minecraft or real life themed or just any name that sounds cool for one of the coloured lines please let me know and I might just use it.
The colours are
Red
Blue
Green
Orange
Yellow
Grey
Pink
Purple
Brown
Thank you, for viewing and please keep coming back for more updates!!
I don't understand why more people haven't commented on this thread, your builds look very good! A lot of the shapes are really interresting, and it's all quality design in my opinion. Keep at it!
For the names of the subway lines, you could just name the main buildings and landmarks of the city and name the lines after those. Or you could find some fancy alternatives for the colors, like ruby for the red, or amethyste for purple or stuff like that.
Thank you very much!!! That really means a lot to me and gives me the strength to put more of my time into new building designs. The fact that some people really enjoy what I do really makes me happy. So once again thank you and I shall keep building I do hope to finish this city one day!!
Also that is a great idea about the subway lines so once again thank you haha!!

Awesome subway! And I also like the naming ideas. Another option is that sometimes lines are named after the burrows or streets they lead to.
I'm loving your progress on your city. The builds are looking very nice. Be sure to add vehicles, and other things dotting the city to make it seem active and not so hollow. Take time to do interiors of buildings that you can see from the ground through windows. Remember that most cities have a lot to look at. Street lamps, cross walks, bike lanes, scaffolding, trash cans, benches, bus stops, new paper stands, parking meters. Not everything is on one level too, look at highways and bridges. Youre on a great track, so keep up the good work!

Thand you very much. I had thought about using special place names to call my line. One of which is going to be called the Union line (grey line).....just a little hint for things that are coming in the near future!!
Sorry for the lack of updates again I've been ill and have been in bed the past few days I haven't had the strength to play minecraft other come up with new ideas but don't worry I'll be back up again soon.
I'm a little late to the party, and it looks like the things that should have been suggested have been suggested, Keep at it!
You can never be too late to a party!!
As long as you're here now. I'm glad you like my city, it still has a very very very long way to gour before its completed so if you do have any suggestions please let me know!!

So Then I'm sorry I haven't posted on here in ages I've been out of out ideas for either litle filler buildings or the large projects, I do kinda have one i just have no idea as to where to put it. So introducing Colzanberg central, the hub of the cities subway, I intend for it to be large and grand in every way I just at this point in time have no logical place for me to place such a creation. So instead I'm going to start up a new world build it there and make it so i can copy and paste it using the powers of MCEdit when the time is right.
I feel guilty for not uploading but hopefully after this ideas will start flowing back through my mind.
I'm going to start work on it right after this post so I may be able to get an upload either up tonight or within the next couple days Thank you for supporting me!

Alright okay so everything hasnt gone as planned this summer. The idea about builing a central subway station fell flat on it's face. I did have ago at desgining one but to no joy things just didnt look right.
On top of that I just have not had the energy to go on Minecraft I've surprised myslef instead I've been going out and spending time with friends and family and just trying to relax before I get back into my final year at school.
So I apologise for not updaiting very much and hopefully I shall be back to building soon!!
This is really cool, are you planning on releasing this as a map when you are finished? My only suggestion is add an airport if you get the time or haven't thought of it yet. Other than that keep up the great work!

Thank you I'm really gald you like what you see. I was thinking about adding an Airport at some point, maybe a water front one like in Hong Kong I believe, we'll just have to wait and see!!
As for turning this into a downloadable map when it is completed that is very highly likely, but don't hold your breath as thst is a long way off in the future!!!

It fills out that corner very nicely, and adds a nice piece of needed contrast. Great job!
