Nice to see you're back, and what a spectacular entrance!
I've been following this thread since you started it, but I only recently got a forums account. I left a couple comments on your videos though.
I have lots of suggestions and some of my own builds to share, but I don't want to hog the attention, so I'll post only a bit at a time, and let other people have a chance to post too.
For now here's a few pictures of the MCNS Turmoil, which I built based on your dreadnaught, and is currently my most elaborate build.
I used the basic layout of the dreadnaught, but I gutted it and added my own interior, engines, and decoration.
(She's also a full ten blocks shorter, to help Minecraft handle her flying. 3200 blocks is pushing my computer a bit.)
The third picture is of her main weapon, the ACSC 322 "Ender" with a max range of 470m. You can just see it sticking out the bow in the second pic.
(I built this before you revealed the heavy dreadnaught variant, so I came up with my own way of fitting a tnt cannon on the lower deck.)
And the fourth picture is of the main diesel engine, replacing the old boiler. (I went for a "post-steampunk" look, with a bit more modern machinery to match Flan's WWII vehicles and weapons.) The entire ship reminds me of a U-boat, with its cramped interior and very powerful main weapon.
Edit: What I meant is that the dreadnaught reminds me of a U-boat, both in its design/appearance and that it could probably take down much larger ships if it made hit-and-run attacks with its scattergun. The Turmoil also follows this design scheme, but has a longer ranged main gun.
The light turrets were supposed to be replaced with Flan's flak cannons, but I left them off for now instead of waiting for Flan's to update. The Turmoil has 7 deck mountings and 2 underside turrets, which can freely rotate if the ship is stopped, or can be fired on the move within a fixed arc.

The two screenshots leave me wondering to see what all the supports and piping looks like, its too bad you can't just x-ray through the hull and show off the entire network of pipes and trusses together.
The scale of your heavy carrier is quite impressive, and really doesn't come through in just these couple of pictures.
By the way, I've preserved some of your older craft that are no longer in the latest map download.
The planes and the attack craft are the originals, while the airboats (your old bombers and the one from the roof of the Gasbag and Gondola) are recreated from pictures here on your topic.
I was thinking maybe there could be an aviation museum on board the Icarus, or you could just have a few random vehicles in the hanger bays.

So, getting back into things, CLANG(hits Head on low hanging pipe) D% IT! I've got the internal supports and catwalks done on the heavy carrier.
