Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but when you see those tie-lapse builds on servers, don't they usually have an extra player standing off to the side just to be logged on and recording?
yes, they do. Most of them have 3 camera mans and the editor just picks scenes from one camera man and mixes it up with other shots from other cameraman to make the timelapse video.
You will definitely also want to check out the Underground Biomes Mod. It adds all kinds of geologically accurate stones to your world, makes mining much more interesting, and gives you a more varied resources to work with (beyond smooth stone, cobble stone and stone bricks)
No doubt Dreamer. UB is third priority on my list. I LOVE the look of its blocks in a mine and the way they fill out the landscape when exposed top side.
The world gen list for my Mod-Pack is as follows so far;
1 Biomes 'o Plenty
2 Metallurgy 4
3 Underground Biomes Constructs
4 Mo Creatures
5 Plant Mega Pack
6 Arcane Ascension
Have been testing with them for a couple days and so far no issues what-so-ever. Looks like every ID is generating with no overwriting (fingers crossed)
Will add these if world gen remains stable with them; Millenaire, Pam's Harvest Craft & Wee Flowers, Ruins, Better Villages, Village Taverns, Mariculture -and/or- OceanCraft, Wild Caves and Shipwrecks, as well as about a dozen single-new-ore dependent weapons and armors mods .... not exactly in that priority order.
2) Looks like there are about 4.71 metric shittons of great mods out there which are appropriate for legit survival builders. I have compiled a list of about 70 that I am considering (probably cut that to ~45 for final .jar) But, Im still looking for a 'standoff' - 'third person' view fixed camera mod so I can record my builds in video instead of SSs... PLEASE HELP
The only one I know of is Camera Studio by Sushen. It has a built in video recorder for 3rd person timelapses. I've only used it for smooth pathing for 1st person panning shots of builds though. Unfortunately, it's currently only updated for 1.7.2.
Welcome back to minecraft Swervish! It's great to see you picking this project back up! And 80 mods?! I must know, what are your computer specs and what FPS do you get with all those mods?
Tell me where to find my 'computer specs' and Ill post em. I am an old man and not a techie. I paid one of my client's college aged son to build my comp about 3 yrs ago. I got a hell of a comp for 1100.00, I think.
As for FPS... i DO know that one; 50-60
I had to switch the minimap mod out for a lighter version because it was hogging my vid card BAD. i kicked the superior MapWriter Mod and will reinstall the old standby Rei's Minimap Mod. And I have my vid settings turned pretty far down.
No OptiFine? I consider OptiFine must have for playing Minecraft. It's worth it just for getting rid of the fog, let alone the fps increase. The 1.7.2_HD_U_D3 version is compatible with the version of forge you're running.
Anyway, good luck! I'm looking forward to the next update!
To find your specs, click your start button and go to Control Panel. In there, look for "Device Manager". Look for "Display adapters" for your video card. As for the ram and processor, go to your start button, right click "computer" and select properties. You'll find how many GB of ram you have and your processor.
I think I need to buy some more RAM. Thats actually scary for me... not the installation. I can handle that just fine, grounded and everything. The scary part is knowing exactly what RAM to buy. I know that it has to 'match exactly' to the existing RAM as well as the CPU and the MB... but Im 100% clueless where to start on that. I dont even know if I have one 6G stick or three 2G sticks, or if that even matters... if anyone knows, and would be so kind as to link a newegg item or an amazon auction for EXACTLY what I need ... well that would ROCK.
At 6 GB of ram, you won't really need much more for what you're doing. Also each stick doesn't have to match, I have 2 completely different sticks of ram in my computer right now, runs just fine. It only has to be the right type to fit the MB. So I'd suggest:
This ram is really fast and reliable, it'll get you to 10 GB unless you want to replace your current ram.
So that's just my recommendation. That stick should work with your MB. If you have any questions just ask.
EDIT: Also if you do plan on replacing all your ram, keep in mind your MB can only hold up to 16 GB of ram total. So the max GB per stick you can get is 4 GB.
Mod Pack....
I would be happy to, but, I wouldn't do it without the direct permission of every mod creator.
OOTH; when I do finally start a new thread, I 'intend' to include a post dedicated to the mods I have chosen and why, and it should contain a spoiler with a DL link to every single mod I'm using... yep 80 links. I have them all bookmarked in my browser.

So if I just wanted to max out I should buy 4 of these exact sticks that you linked, right?
second question; would it be better to replace what I have with 2X8G sticks instead... in other words; Is 4X4 or 2X8 better, or does it make any difference?
Or even better yet, I have a couple hundred $$ to throw at an upgrade and wish to max out... what would you suggest?
Arrive thursday. First upgrade Ive ever made to this box.
Been playing some practice starts.
Been to bedrock twice.... HOLEECRAP minecraft has gotten better. especially with all these mods.... still gonna play 'legit': no flying and no 'toomanyitems' type mods.
Sorry I didn't reply to that second question sooner, I have a bad habit of only checking threads when it says there is a new post. Answer to that question: With your motherboard, 4x4 is best. It can only handle 4 GB sticks or less.
Its all cool Shadow. After you clued me in, I did a little research on my own and found the boundries of what my mobo could handle.
Im pretty stoked to almost triple my ram. This lil gaming box should light up like a blow torch in about a week. (probably end up swapping out my vid card pretty quick too. It only has 1G of on board mem i think).
Haha, more ram definitely has a huge impact on gaming. Also, how many watts is your power supply? Should say on the side of it when you open the case. Just wondering how much room there is for better hardware.

I have spent about 10 days getting up to speed with 1.7.2 mods.
I will be spending about another week practice playing with my finalized .jar.... testing and experimenting with it.
It has 80 mods installed and running stable (I think).
I couple dozen hours of play and a trip to bed rock or two should let me know if this is ready or not. But either way..... Im back.

50-60 FPS with all those mods, nice!
