I'm building a bodiam castle myself (not 1:1 and not entirely stone) but I don't really know what to put in the inside,
so, what have you put inside the castle?
And as unlikely as it may seem, yes I quit on this project.
Kind of
In fact, what I did was take a break from MC... more like an extended break, really. I got stuck. I couldnt build many of the remaining structures I wanted to because of some of the limitations of the MC version on which the project began and some of the limitations of the world that I built.
But, I have been watching MC evolve, and It seems that maybe, with a little help from those of you who have been very close to the game on a daily basis for the last year, all the elements may be in place to take another run at a massive project... maybe even restart this one.
For the last few days I have been reading everything I can find about MC 1.7.X and I think I know what I need to know;
1) Standard world height was finally raised enough to build a big building (256)? Please confirm?
2) Looks like there are about 4.71 metric shittons of great mods out there which are appropriate for legit survival builders. I have compiled a list of about 70 that I am considering (probably cut that to ~45 for final .jar) But, Im still looking for a 'standoff' - 'third person' view fixed camera mod so I can record my builds in video instead of SSs... PLEASE HELP
3) I think I understand how the new Forge works, but I am ABSOLUTELY not a programmer or coder. So a few thing that I cant seem to find with google; (a.) is the Forge item registry now infinite and assuming the various mod creators did their part correctly, will Forge dynamically handle an infinite number of redundant blocks in its ore dictionary and the plant registry etc? (b.) does forge deal with recipes any better than it did in 1.8? (recipes is what killed Regia Anglorum; recipes).
4) I want to use three or four different mods that add blocks / features at world generation and chunk generations times. Will Forge handle multiple biome/village/caveing/mob mods?
Your answers to these questions will be greatly appreciated.

I can answer to of those questions,
1. Yes, Building height was raised to 256 a fair while ago - Mind that normal Minecraft land height is 64
4. You can add as many biome altering mods you want, they will usually allow each other but when you get to the complete overhaul ones (BOP and ATP) usually only one can be used as it is done pre-land generation settings.
When I saw that Swervish had replied to my comment I freaked out, I cant believe your back, you'd been gone so long I was starting to think that maybe you died. Thats why I asked if anyone knew what had happened to you.

2. I don't know an ingame camera mod that takes 3rd person view. But im my knowledge I know they don't exist. But if you want Renders which are awesome use Chunky.
3. Im not a programmer too, so i can't help with that.
Nice to see you're back, I'll look forward to your answer. Be it any of the 4 options. ^^
so, what have you put inside the castle?
That was posted nearly 3 months ago.
"Programmers never repeat themselves. They loop."
