Great great job, not that you don't know that at this point.
So I love to follow your posts, as I'm sure most on this forum do, and I just wanted to give you a tip, one legit player to another.
Do you know torches destroy gravity blocks if placed underneath the gravity affected block?
That way if you use something like this for screenshot poles it's a lot easier to take them down. You just take out the stone or whatever block you place right above the torch, and all the sand falls on the torch and break ready to be picked up.
Could even come in handy if you do want to fill in the basement or fill in any water areas, if you really have a need for them to be dry.
Very very nice so far! And i have a Tip for you. Don't use Coal, Bukkits full of Lava Smelt up to 100 Items and i bet you find in your Mine a Lot of them? (When you Smelt a Lava Bukkit, you bekom the Empty Bukkit back)
Keep it up! Your work ist fantastic!
agreed lava buckets work so much better! and yeah swervish your really good builder!!!!
Will be doing a lot of research today on my chosen mods to see if I can update to 1.3.2... wish me luck.
Good luck! This is easily my favorite thread, and you've inspired me to do my own tekkit build with a friend. (on creative, i dont think i ave the patience to mine as much as you do.)
Its more than critical... without that particular mod, I have no inventory... ie I loose somewhere around 300,000 items which have been mined, crafted, harvested etc, because it is all stored in those chests.... unacceptable.
Hmm, i look sources in .java included in mod.zip and not see big dependences from minecraft version. Do you check existed mod version with 1.3.2 ? Ofc, with backup data before.
[added] I check in my 1.3.2 and it not work indeed.
Heh... if you do happen to update to 1.3.2 will you put up a new .minecraft file download!? Because I'm using all your mods and such on a 1.2.5, I'd love to get it on 1.3 as well

Of course...
But why wait?

This is nice, but i recommned not using so many mods. I used around 12 mods in a legit build one time and even on my PC i got a crash and my world corrupted after about 50 hours playtime. Slowly try to work them out of your builds.
@minionsdevil: I haven't played anything since 1.0.0 with less than a hundred mods running at the same time, and I've never had a corrupted world. It depends on the type of mods you're playing with, big ones like IC, BC, RP or Railcraft won't corrupt your world if something goes wrong (or if they corrupt anything, it's fixable). As Swervish said, (and I fully agree with him on this point), building things this size is nearly impossible to do without mods.
Also: The usefulchest mod doesn't seem too complicated. I'd try my hand at updating it if I'd know any java, but I don't.

Sorry, man.
It takes like 60-90 minutes to craft one of these updates, add all the pics, update the first post, upload the .jar, update the world map jpeg etc etc...
Id rather build/craft/mine/harvest, etc, so I have to reach a really motivated point to do it.
But in response to your humorous post, here's a verbal with a pic.

It may not seem like a big deal to you guys, but its a first for me; I found a stronghold... woohoo
I know that probably means nothing more than a endportal to most of you, but to a guy like me that means a WHOLE different thing... It means stacks and stacks of blocks that cant be crafted,,, ie mossy stone bricks and cracked stone bricks.
Ive just about mined the ENTIRE structure out (sans the portal room)
Lookie what I found!!!
Lookie what Im doin with it

So there's a little fix for yas.
Bodiam gatehouse and another tower are done... Serious update fri or sat.
I've only ever found two strongholds! And I've only beaten a dragon in one heh...
Can't wait till next update and I lol'd reading Jmak's post. I agree completely
Aha, wonderful. Now I don't have to cry myself to sleep.
I mean I'm just playin', I understand that it takes time and effort for you to do this for us. So thanks for that. But MOTHER OF GOD. Poor stronghold got torn up like a baby squirrel caught in a paper shredder.
I would suggest using those gorgeous cracked stones in a pattern resembling a worn-down, damaged wall if your project ever sees one. Not unlike the one seen in . In my opinion, that can be a quintessential representation of aging within the -- who am I kidding with the big words... that would look pretty damn sweet.
Also, I'm excited to see what you can do with SuperSlopes. I used that for a massive project I had in the past and it drastically improved the look and feel of the entire thing. Gotta love it.

VERY cool!
I did know that torches break gravity blocks, but hadnt though of using them this way.
Thanks a ton.

Unfortunately, lava buckets are only useful since 1.3, in 1.2 (which Swervish uses) buckets are one-time resource.
PS. Actually, lava buckets require too much micro-management comparing to coal.
Ayyyep

Hm. That's about it.
G'luck, Swerve.
This seems more like a creative effort.
And once a new update comes out...
