So I have taken to playing minecraft in a bit of a strange way. I build an airship, and mcedit it into a new world every once in a while, with all the spoils of war in tow. I started with a dinky little thing I called the Darkwood, only 15 blocks long or so. I collected stuff for about 3 maps until I ran out of space on the Darkwood, so I started building a new, bigger airship.
I present to you: The Sequoia.
This is probably my best build, and it took me a long, long, time to make, maybe about 15 hours to gather all the materials and build it (two hours of that were taken by making that balloon, which took FOREVER to gather all the wool for). This is the biggest thing I have built legit, and all the stuff I have collected is in there.
Here are some more pictures:
At Night
The front of the ship
The back of the ship
The kitchen and storage/furnace room
kitchen
storage room
Dragon Egg chest (there are two in there!)
Viewing Deck
Navigation Room (you can't see it, but that sign over the enchanting table says THE LOGBOOK)
Captain's quarters and Control Deck
Captain's quarters
Control Deck
And here's a (sort of crappy) view of it from a testificate village I found. Can't imagine what they think of it....
If you are interested in the texture pack, it is a version of dokucraft that I made with a texture selector. You can find it at this link:
When you paste it in Mcedit, a lot of the new blocks won't look like they work but they still transfer over right. Also note that it still has all my stuff in it, so if you want to use it clear it out.
And of course, please credit me if you use it in a map or something.
What a novel playing style! I'm half tempted to try doing that myself some time.
Your airship is a thing of beauty. One minor point. . . wouldn't a ladder or ramp look better than a big spiral staircase? Also, do you have any pictures of the Darkwood for comparison?
Thanks for the feedback! And no, I unfortunately do not have any pictures of the Darkwood, although a good size comparison would be that the Darkwood was about a tenth of the size of this one and very VERY cramped on the inside.
And as for the staircase, I didn't really care about it for this map, but I am going to build a ramp of some sort on the next one.
Yeah a different way of accessing the boat other than a staircase would be better. And as for the actual ship, I don't think I really like the shape you chose for the balloon, just seems kind of strange to me.

And if you want it, here is a copy of the Mcedit Schematic that I used!

A Survival Mode Port City Story

Very inspiring.
