Complete 3/28
I am anxious to get started on my jungle island, so I went ahead and finished out this base. The villagers have been released into their new homes, and seem to be enjoying it. There is a questionable suicide rate though, maybe it's the lack of furniture in the huts. This is by far the largest and most detailed project I have finished in Minecraft so far. I will work on getting the world save updated as quickly as I can, the map is quite large so it will have to be trimmed in MCEdit to get to a manageable download size.
3/10 - General overview of progress so far.
Overview from the top of my spawner.
Down in the ravine.
Heading toward my storage/mine.
View from the bottom.
View from the top.
View from the watchtower.
A little interior design.
My loot/record farm design.
3/11 - Added detail shots.
Mushroom Village
I will probably end up moving this to the surface and making this space my tree farm. (Mushroom idea came from generikb, his is much better)
Mine & Dragon Egg Monument
Enchanting room
It has a total of 4 different level settings.
Brewing Station
Cauldron is just decorative, there's infinite water springs tucked in the corners.
Mob Farm Entrance
Slmes on left wall, Cave Spiders down left hallway, Mobs on Demand on right Hallway.
Storage
Top layer of my slime farm
There is an identicle room directly below this one for a total of 4 slime spawning chunks. Had to add an autokill to the collector, it produces way too fast.
Double Cave Spider XP farm
Basic Xisumavoid design
Sugar Cane & Cactus Farm
Mobs on Demand
This is MonkeyFarms Mobs-on-Demand Spawner.
Mob farm timer
This is my addition to Mobs on Demand. A timer that washes the mobs down for ~20 seconds every 5 minutes. I can either XP farm them, Or send them into the loot/record grinder.
Melon Farm
Vertical Design from Docm77
Wheat Farm
Inspired by Docm, but my own variation.
Colored Wool Cell
Xisumavoid's design, slightly modified. 15 of these, took 3 days to gather resources and build. (I get white wool from spider string)
Villager Breeding Cell
This is completely my design. There's a water elevator and quick drop attached to the mushroom village so I can transport villagers either way.
Chicken/Egg Farm
MonkeyFarm's design, (has some issues in 1.2)
Nether Transport
Netherwart Farm
Ethos Design
Blaze XP farm
Ethos Design, but mines broken because I was cheap and used signs instead of pistons, so now I have to fix it.
Smaller of my two sand quarries
Small amount of proof, that this is legit. Theres a bigger quarry on the other side of a 2nd nether portal.
3/12 **Update** Added world save and texture pack info above. Working on surface mushroom village.
Top-Down progress update
Just a screen from the top of a dirt pillar so you can see where I've been working.
New Chapel & Well
Exact reproduction of standard NPC structure in Sandstone.
Blacksmith/Forge
Exact reproduction of standard NPC structure in Sandstone.
3/14 - Almost finished with the surface village/contraptions.
Spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I wanted to handle the breeding machine. Ended up scrapping my design and going with xisumavoid's design, because it fit my space much better. I have a cell of pig's, and a cell of cow's, I can expand it for Mooshrooms in whenever I go get them. Still have to add a separator mechanism for the babies and a cooker down in the ravine. So that will probably be next.
Almost There
New Animal Breeding Machine
Based on Xisumavoid's design.
3/24 - Polish & potential build sites.
The current world save is well over a gigabyte, thanks to my exploration in search of Mooshrooms(fail). I don't even know if rapidshare will host that...but I will try to find something if there's still interest.
Unbelievable Shaders is unbelievable...too bad my Computer doesn't agree. Installed it and took this right before the update @ 6FPS...lol.
Playing with some of the new planks in my mine.
Added a 'secret' door for future mine expansion.
Replaced all the stone brick walkways with mossy stone brick in the bottom of the ravine for some variety.
Found all these on the way back from my stronghold after collecting a few stacks of mossy stone bricks.
Polished up the cave spider XP farm.
Torches were just added for the picture, everything is halfslabbed.
Secondary brewing station to keep up with my splash potion needs @ the XP farm, plus it gives me something to do while I wait.
Some polish work in my 'mess hall'...kinda reminds me of a fast food joint.
Steak/Porkchop cooker.
Potential Ice Outpost location.
Really nice view over a pond into the jungle...I really want to build something here.
The best of both worlds?
3/26 - Zen Garden
I had to move the mushroom village to the surface, it wasn't working like I wanted it to. Because it was underground and the breeding cell is pretty much directly above the right wall, the villagers would just group in the corner like idiots instead of wandering and using the mushroom huts.
So I built myself a nice garden instead.
No minecraft world is complete without at least one example of pixel art.
I discovered I suck at pixel art. Took me a half hour to make an 8x8 piece look ok.
A fitting shrine.
The vines add some much needed texture to the wool, and make it so the place has a very wild feel.
Another perspective.
It's the first thing you see when you quick drop into the ravine, and the last thing you see riding the boat elevator out.
Thanks. I worked on getting some mushroom houses/huts and a sandstone version of a blacksmith/forge set up on the surface for my villagers for a few hours today. Once I get some more progress I'll get some more pictures up within the next day or two.
That's a really nice legit survival world. My survival worlds never end up like that mainly because after a while I get bored of the world and start a new one.
World Save and new stuff screens added to original post.
Worked a bit on getting some housing and structures added for my labor force (I would like them to feel at home). Also went to the jungle to collect saplings and some jungle shrubs. Will be playing with the jungle shrubs in addition to the long grass and flowers for landscaping.
