Map Download - I still label this a work in progress because, to be honest, I'm not sure I'll ever be done with it. But I'm proud of what I've done so far and wanted to share it. As it is a WIP, expect to see a couple areas that look like they're not finished. There will be future editions as I complete more sections
Wow thats preety amazing =)
Keep up the good work m8 =]
Thanks! Yep, lots more work to do on this. As I said in the Future Build Sites section, I've got at least 9 or 10 things more I'm going to build. And that doesn't include decor for stuff I've already built!

My god, this is wonderful. Especially the smaller details in your map such as the use of trapdoors to make them like window panes and whatnot. It's posts like this that keep me coming on the forums.

Thank you so much! That was very nice of you to say. It's comments like this that help provide encouragement to keep building.

This is pretty awesome! I particularly enjoy the terracing you did on the exterior, with the Netherrack Fences to separate everything! Good work!
Thanks! With the fences, I wanted to add an additional color to the predominate grays that most of the place is made out of. The red of the fences seemed a nice compliment while serving a purpose. Glad you like it!
Allow me to reiterate that I welcome feedback, comments and constructive criticism. I'm always wanting to improve my builds, so if you see any way by which I could do that, please feel free.

Nice build. Really nice. Do you know what the seed is?
And when you are finished, can you put a download link?
I'll give it to you, but I warn you, I generated this map a couple updates ago, and I've since checked and its now made a bit differently even with the same seed. So it will be pretty similar, but you won't quite get this terrain I'm building on. That said, the seed is: 333333333333333333. I found stumbled upon it while testing out how the terrain generator uses different seeds.
wow, great work, the terrain was really a gem
the overall villa and the building is wonderful, must have taken a lot of work
the netherbrick/fence, however, i feel kind of stand out like an eyesore rather than a complimentary color. It may be just me, but i prefer somewhat a more smooth and softer feel, and i feel the nether bricks are just tacky.
I would suggest wood for most of the stuff you did with the nether bricks.
Another suggestion is using stairs for many of the roof/sloped parts, e.g. the little viewing areas in the 4th picture
Gotta say I love all your interior designs and details tho. Esp that grand piano? I've never seen that. That was really awesome.
Overall 9.5/10 (i still question your choice of netherbricks)
Thank you. I'm glad you like it. Yes this has been quite a bit of work. The grand piano wasn't my idea. I borrowed it from a design thread, found here.
And thank you for the constructive criticism about the netherbrick. It really does stand out and sometimes it is rather stark contrast to everything else. I periodically question my use of it, and sometimes wonder if I should replace it. So far I've ended up leaving it in due to a combination of not being sure what else to replace it with, not liking the alternatives, and not wanting to go to the effort of replacing all that netherbrick. I've been hesitant to use wood because I don't like so much the look of it on this texture pack, but the few places I've used it have turned out pretty well, so I might consider replacing it.
Thank you again for your comments. I'll take them into consideration.
Thanks so much for the comments and suggestions everyone had made so far, both here and on the thread where I was asking for suggestions on what to do for a new room. I've already made use of some of them, and am working on including others.
I got a recommendation to replace most of the netherbrick with wood, saying that the netherbrick looked like an eyesore. I took it the recommendation and now the place looks like this:
I've also added an Archive Library! The original library is now a Study Library.
And on the top of the Villa, I've added a vegetable garden with melon and pumpkin patches!

Thanks! I haven't kept track of how many hours I've actually spent making it, but I've been working on this for about a month now.
Thank you! I like seeing other people's work too, so its nice to be able to add to that experience for others.

Bedrooms
Living Room/Rec Room
Welcome to the Living Room/Rec Room. Let me show you around.
Have a look out the Glass Steps. You can step up for a better view.
Or perhaps you'd like to relax and take a load off in the Sunken Lounge?
Or in the Loft?
Or maybe you'd like to tickle the ivories...
There's plenty of music to choose from in the bench
Or you could just curl up by a cozy fire.
There's lot of things to do! Enjoy!
Glad you like it so much. :smile.gif:
And when you are finished, can you put a download link?
Thank you both so much! This means a lot to me.
The texture pack is Mixcraft HD. You can find it here

Yes, I've been building this now with the intent of making it a map download when I'm done.
