Munduno (Mix-up of the words "Mundo Uno", meaning "World One" in Spanish) is my main world in Minecraft.
I started working on it in October of 2010, and in just 2 years, lots of things happened here.
No design plans (mostly) no schedules, not a single idea of how everything was going to look in the future. A work of trial and error, of constant improvement.
Also, since summer 2012, a friend has been taken major action in the world, so it's fair to say it's now a project of two.
It was never planned to be the biggest, prettiest, or most amazing Minecraft world, just the one i liked, and at least, that goal was accomplished.
-14 Main skyscrapers.
-4 multi-purpose buildings.
-2 Housing Complexes.
-Metro network (2 lines).
-Pokemon's National Park replica.
-Large caves system completely reformed, with smooth surfaces, lights, seats...
-Underwater tunnel.
-Stadium and indoor pool.
-A restored stronghold fully lightened.
-And much more!

DECEMBER 2011:
A year ago, i showed my skyscraper complex, called The Pinaculum, but things have changed a lot, and i think it's time to show what happened since.
I tried to play with the stock game, but it was impossible. Now, apart from Single Player Commands and TooManyItems, i also changed some textures as i liked, like the iron door, which is now a glass door, but with an iron frame, the torches, which are now LED torches (without smoke or flames) or the glowstone block, which now looks like a modern day light source.
Also, very little was planned. Almost everything was made using improvisation, that's why some things can look so random. And the last thing i have to say, the materials i used to build everything were not legit, but all the works are. Brick by brick, without flying, using no-clip, or things like that, since it's not like the most amazing thing made in Minecraft, i thought hacking the inventary was enough.
Let's start.
The complex. Well, almost all of it.
The main building. 57 blocks tall.
This double-door mechanism is by far, the most complex thing i ever done with redstone. And i had to see a tutorial...
The lobby:
Going upstairs:
The atrium:
Then, by this glass tunnel:
A nice view:
The side building connected to the skyscraper:
Lower part of the complex, by the sea:
Turning to the left, there's an underground tunnel leading to the buidling to the far left. Also, that tree has been there since the beggining.
Down there? Part of the caves system. It's huge. Really huge. Will be hard to show...
To my right, the main entrance to the caves. That funny slope with the dirt and the trees was also like that since the first day. I'll put some pics later to compare.
Some stairs connecting this beach with the complex. I used the original dirt sharpes as a reference for the stairs:
The complex at night. I'm glad i added lights everywhere.
The last building of the Complex, after taking the tunnel.
That's all. Just a 2 story glass and iron building...
By this bridge, we can also go to the rest of the buildings.
Not very small...i know.
Going back to the plaza. The fountain in the middle...
...hides something.
This giant hole is just below the main skyscraper. I originally wanted it to be as tall as i can, but after doing the hell out of this work, i realized...that all this would remain hidden. Not my smartest move...now i'm thinking what to do here.
Now, going upstairs here:
Here's the museum.
Almost all blocks you could find back in the early alpha days. Now it's obviously outdated.
Originally, instead of a watermelon, there was a cactus. But i thought a modern block would be welcome.
And finally, here...
...here i was planning to make a scale model of the complex using the Little Blocks mod. Then, i found out it doesn't work in this height-modified map. Oh well...
Time to move. By that door...
I arrive at my house. That lake wasn't there, i just filled up the hole with water.
In the early days, my farm used to be here. In my tradition of doing things before knowing the facts, i made a big tunnel connecting the sea with a small pool, in order to have water in it. Then i found out how water works in Minecraft. And also, that a simple bucket could have solve the problem. Now, as you can see, i use the tunnel as an entrance for the caves system.
Here's my house. Yes, it's just that. Why i need more when i have a giant complex just 20 blocks away?
A nice chimney:
Going upstairs, the "kitchen", with a lava-based "things i don´t need dispossal unit" in the wall.
And finally, my bedroom:
...and the bathroom, of course.
By this path...
We arrive to this, which was also a natural small mountain, where i started to mine in search of caves at the very beggining.
Very simple, of course.
If you go upstairs... (Yes, all my signs are now empty, something went wrong one day...)
You'll find another viewing spot. What if you go downstairs? It's hard to explain.
And, if we keep walking by this path, we'll arrive at this:
The X-Cross. 85 blocks tall, and the reason i had to increase the max height.
You can go upstairs entering one of the 4 bottom towers. Then, they join in one floor, and then, they split again.
The beggining of a long way until the top.
The floor where all towers join. Since each floor is in a different position from each other, it was a nightmare to build the stairs, but i managed to do a decent job with that.
Using the roof of the last floor until the towers split again, i made...another viewing spot.
That's a nice fall.
Apart from the skyscraper, i made this fancy fountain:
And...this parking.
Yes. A parking. Since cars are not what i would call common in a cubic world (i know there are mods) it's completely useless...but i like it.
Four levels. The green one:
Blue one...
Red one...
And the yellow one.
What's by that door? Hard to explain, again.
Another path starts here:
It leads to two places. One is this building, called Black&White (Pure cleverness )
I made this just for the hell of it. I thought of doing something in this empty area, and this is the result.
Yup. Pretty useless as well. But the looks are great, i think.
Time to continue. The path finally ends here:
Yes, not modern buildings anymore.
Yes, it's a park!
But not just a normal park...maybe somebody already recognized it.
The south building, which leads to the Pincaculum complex, making a circle.
And yes, it's what you think. Pokemon's Sliver/Gold National Park...an almost exact replica. I actually mixed the styles from the original games and the "restyled" version of SoulSilver/HeartGold.
As i said, everything is connected all together.
This tunnel that leads to the Complex.
Like so.
Now we're heading north, to see this:
A nice set of houses.
This was one of the few things i desgined before building them.
The living room:
Under the stairs, a crafting table and a chest, of course.
And upstairs...
The bedroom.
With a balcony:
And if you're thinking, what the hell was that colored thing in the aerial view of the houses, here's the answer:
The plan was to change the stones, dirt, and ores with colored wool. Until i found out the caves were big. VERY big.
Back to the south. Next to the X-Cross, the last path.
That thing with a glass roof is a small cave. I just added a roof, and some stairs.
Inside:
Oh, where that tunnel leads to? Hard to explain. Don't hate me. If you're not bored after this, i promise i will explain this all.
The path ends here. That M thing is a monument made after the first anniversary of the world
There's another path, that leads to the Complex. Everything's really connected.
And what's this, in the middle of this path? Yeah. I'll tell you if you're interested, i'm afraid i already bored everybody
Well, going back to where we were...this "dock" here:
Have stairs at the end...yet another thing to tell if you want.
Next to it, a big underwater tunnel. That tree was also there since the beggining.
I have tons of pictures of how everything was made. Also, if you want, i can put pics of the construction of all.
But now, let's take the tunnel.
(Oh, a leaking problem...i have to solve this)
When you arrive at the island in the other end...you find this:
What's special about this? It's the least complex thing ever made...
Well, this is my very first construction in Minecraft. Not in this world (i still have to show you what it is) but in the game. I build this more than a year ago, in the browser version. Then, i saved the world, and using MCedit, i imported the house, for that nostalgia feeling.
And this is it, for now!
As i said, i expect you're now sleeping with your head in the keyboard by now, i know this was very dense...so if you want me to keep showing you more things, tell me...just to make sure you actually want to see more.
I really hope you enjoyed the tour...it's not complete yet, so better said, i hope you enjoyed this part of the tour...i welcome all comments, since this is the first time i show my world in public, and i want to know some oppinions besides mine. If you want to actually see the world, i can give you the map, as well.
But for now, all i can just say is...to be continued. (Very soon, i hope!)
Yes, i´ve been working in my world since October of 2010...hours and hours of work. I can tell, by the pictures i took when i build everything (i'll post some too tomorrow!) that the X-Cross, for example, was made in 3 days. Not including the time i spent designing it and looking for a height mod...
Wow.. so much time and effort and dedication! I've noticed a distinct lack of +1's for you so here; have the first :biggrin.gif:!
This is a superb project - the X-Cross is my personal highlight. The months of work which probably went into that one creation were all worth it as it is utterly phenomenal!
Great effort, I'm sure we all can't wait to see more epic builds from you!
It's going to be a very detailed tour of what's hidden underground...more than you may think.
But don't expect something like an underground city, a giant statue or something like that. It's way more simple than all of that, but i can assure i spent most hours working on them.
Wow.. so much time and effort and dedication!
Thank you very much :smile.gif:
My main goal right now is to finish all the current w.i.p works, including the "basement" of the Pinaculum skyscraper (it's been like that for more than a year...i have to make something already!) but in the meanwhile, i'll think what my next project will be.
Before i start, i'll say straight out what the "secret" is. Caves. And a big Stronghold. And lots, lots of tunnels, and hidden tunels i'll show you now, that connect everything.
It's really hard to show you how big the underground constructions are. They're bigger than the surface ones, if that helps. Here's some MCedit pics:
The caves. Just look at the amount of torches and glass placed in here...months and months of work, in order to convert huge caverns into something nice to see:
Another angle. You can compare the size of the caves with the size of the "basement" of the Pinaculum skyscraper, at the right.
Now we're under X-Cross. You can see the parking, and the huge caves below. Also, a part of the stronghold.
Some actual pics of the caves:
I could show you thousand of pics, but i prefer to give you the map to see everything by yourselves, if you want. I can assure you it' better to see the real thing instead of a lot of pics.
This is a former dungeon:
In that signs, it used to say "EMERGENCY EXIT"
Looong stair:
The end.
That's what this building is!
Some more secrets revealed...
This door in the dock:
Leads to a large hallway:
Ending here. The entrance to the Stronghold. (If you're wondering how i have a stronghold in a Alpha version map...i imported it with MCedit)
Some pics of the Stronghold. It's FULLY restored. And it's quite big.
Now, a really big secret. On this wall, in my house...
There's a hidden path.
Which leads to my personal batcave! :laugh.gif:
The houselot. House number 1.
Under the stairs, and under that chest...
A trapdoor.
Guess where this goes to!
Yup. Another cave! My world is full of caves, lol.
And...that's it. The end of the tour! I don't want to spoil more surprises, since i think i'll just give my WIP map away for you to see. I can give some hints:
There's another cave below this part of B&W. Just 1 block deep.
This:
And this:
are connected.
You can also access the Stronghold going by that door. But it's a complex way.
This:
and this:
are connected as well.
I'll give you a link for my world asap! Tomorrow morning, i hope.
And, for the grand finale, the old pics!
The genesis. Remember that house on that island, which i said it was the first thing i made in the game?
2 pictures in the browser version, more than a year ago:
We're moving to my actual world. When i started to build my house there...look at the version! It's been a while.
In that hole i made in the mountain, i made my actual house:
After finishing it...no custom textures, no bed, no Pinaculum in the background...
This was taken seconds before starting to build the dock with the tunnel to the other island. As you can see, the tree was there, as i claimed before:
Do you remember the entrance to the Stronghold, right? (Well, you saw it in this very post, so i think yes :laugh.gif: ) this is what it looked like when i discover the cave it was before:
Making the tunnel. This would be the first of a lot of floods...
National Park has been the longest project with a difference. I started it more than a year ago, beggining with this:
In this stage, the floor was wool, the south building was a joke...and that's almost all.
The beggining of the Pinaculum complex. Inside that area, the main skysraper would be built.
Making the world's most useless hole...
Starting the building itself. Back then, i didn't know you could avoid falling by crouching, so as you can imagine, i died a lot of times doing it...
The fountain, still in the middle of a forest.
Up it goes!
Done!
Making the first house of the lot:
The houses didn't have a balcony at the beggining. I decided to add them when everything else was finished.
Do you remember the entrance to the caves, where i used to have a farm? Here's the farm:
And the huge tunnel i made, which looks very different now.
Before...
After...
The first steps of X-Cross:
In the beggining, the X-Cross was dirt. Literally:
Testing the fachade:
When i was happy with how it looked, i started the actual build:
That's why i said i prefer people to see the world by themselves, the amount of pictures needed to show all the underground estructures would be plain madness... :laugh.gif:
I'm trying to upload my world but Mediafile is failing... :sad.gif:
And yes, it's what you think. Pokemon's Sliver/Gold National Park...an almost exact replica. I actually mixed the styles from the original games and the "restyled" version of SoulSilver/HeartGold.
Holy hell, man, I did a double-take on that one.
Beautiful work you've done, by the way. I am amazed by the X-Cross. I definitely admire your craftsmanship.
Thank you very much, i really appreciate this kind words :smile.gif:
It's a good idea the video tour. In fact, i'll do one!
Hiro TDK, i must say your National Park it's better, even the sourroundings are like in the game...very good job!
1adude, the holes connect a lot of things, they're like underground paths. Most of them were made just by coincidence...i think i'll change my works, it's not hard to explain, it's hard to show.
So then, i'll try to post a video tour tomorrow. It will be helpful in order to show the most complex zones of the world, and also, i'll show you my first house in that world, i showed a picture of how i started building it, but i didn't made a tour of it...now it's the perfect occasion!

Awesome this is some wonderful modern architecture and quite different from all those medieval themed builds so overall its an amazing build. :smile.gif:
Hiro TDK, i must say your National Park it's better, even the sourroundings are like in the game...very good job!
To be honest, I like yours better. While being an exact replica, it brings to life the game but lacks realism. I would love to go through and make the whole map like your Version of National Park.

Lots of work...
And finally, the B&W being made:
And now, finally...
THE END...?
I'm trying to upload my world but Mediafile is failing... :sad.gif:
Here's my world.
Remember, you'll only be able to see it with a height mod set at 256 blocks tall. Otherwise...you'll see some abstract composition.
Holy hell, man, I did a double-take on that one.
Beautiful work you've done, by the way. I am amazed by the X-Cross. I definitely admire your craftsmanship.
I love this! :biggrin.gif:
The Park was one of my favorite things, because I instantly recognized that it was from Pokémon. I still play those games occasionally.
As for the tour, I thought it was great. I can't wait to see more! And where did all those little holes lead? The ones that were…too hard to explain?
Anyway, great job, and Happy Holidays!
To be honest, I like yours better. While being an exact replica, it brings to life the game but lacks realism. I would love to go through and make the whole map like your Version of National Park.
