Hello everyone and welcome to my shipyard. This thread is meant to be a place to showcase my ships, as well as a place to find tips and techniques for ship building. In this post you will find ships all the way from my first one, up to my most recent one. That is meant to be not only a compiler to keep all my ships in one place, but also how I have improved since I started building ships. Bare in mind that a lot of these creations are old and obviously, not of the best quality/scale as they could be. I don't intend on improving my old builds; rather I will make new ones and I apply everything I've learned in the previous ones. So feel free to comment and drop some suggestions!

Galleon Neptune
Commissioned: 5/27/2013
Golden Swan Galleon
Commissioned:4/16/2013
This Galleon is meant to be my new flagship. It was inspired a a Lego ship. It carries 16 guns. I did changed a couple of features from that of a regular galleon. The masts are taller to give it a sense of elegance and royal-ism. The galleries are a bit lower in the stern do provide more space for decoration, since I am working with blocks.
Fourth Rate Ship of the Line
Commissioned:3/4/2013
A fourth rate ship of the line carrying 56 guns.
Second Rate Ship of the Line
Commissioned: 2/11/2013
This Second Rate carries 98 guns. I am not particularly happy with the hull design, but overall I think it came out pretty decent.
Balloni
Balloni is a fantasy hot air ballon/ship that carries Abigail, a princess in the runnaway. I made this ship for a little story that I want to make via builds. It's a nice break from building realistic looking ships all the time!
Brig Sloop
Commissioned: 1/28/2013
A Brig Sloop was a small two masted vessel, usually carrying 10 and/or 18 guns.
Corvette
Commissioned: 1/16/2013
A corvette was a type of ship developed by the French in the 17th Century. It is a smaller warship, similar to a Frigate and closely related to a sloop of war. Its roles consisted on coastal patrol as well as an escort. This particular build here has 20 guns. It is slightly smaller than a 6th rate, and fully squared rig.
War Brig
Commissioned: 1/16 2013
A brig is a sailing vessel consisting of two squared rigged masts. Back in the day it was fast and and maneuverable. This type of build is a war brig, carrying 18 guns.
Bermuda Sloop
Commissioned: 1/16/2013
This type of vessel has 1 mast. Similar to a cutter class, the Bermuda Sloop is Bermuda rigged. It was known for it's hull strength.
HMS Surprise
HMS Surprise, 24 guns. Replica of the famous Frigate, better known for it's role in the movie Master and the Commander: Far Side of the World. Making a replica in Minecraft is really hard, specially when making a life size replica of with blocks. There are some flaws, but it still looks decent. Interior will be coming soon.
6th Rate Frigate
Commissioned: December 21, 2012
28 guns 6th Rate Frigate.
Third Rate Ship of the Line
Commissioned: December 16, 2012
This is a 74 guns Third Rate Ship of the Line. I will be making different versions of her with different color schemes and furled sails. No interior yet, but will come soon. Just for the record, on the shown version below, some stay sails are not set just give it a bit of dynamicity to the scene.
First Rate Ship of the Line
Commissioned: December 4, 2012
First Rate Ship of the Line with around 114 guns. Amount can increase up to 120. This initial version wears the Nelson Checker colors (black and yellow from the Royal Navy). Other versions for other nations will come up in the future. This ship will be available as soon as the interior is all done.
I found Atlantis
Spanish Galleon
Commissioned: November 3rd, 2012
This Galleon consists of 4 square sails, 1 spritsail, and 1 lateen sail. Pretty much it was modeled after a Spanish Galleon, though the hull came out a bit too high in the water. This ship is a trading vessel, possessing only a handful of cannons. It will become part of Miss_Jillian'sserver Age of Gods and Man.
Seraphim Nisroc - Scourge of the Seas
Commissioned: October 28, 2012
"They say it roams the sea, looking for souls to take. Nobody knows where, nobody knows when...
They say those who see it, are doomed for eternity. Never seen again... Nobody knows what's inside or what evil does it holds. No one knows who crews the cursed ship. Some say it is crewed by the souls of those unfortunate men who it has taken away... Oh, but don't be fooled by it's colors, they say, a foolish mistake that is, as it is the most evil thing to sail the seas. They say, once you see the fire, it's already too late..."
---Disclaimer---
This is NOT an adventure map
For more information and download of this ship, click this link.
This is a Halloween inspired build. It's called "Seraphim Nisroc - Scourge of the Seas". It's a ghost ship that take away those sailors bound to the sea and they are never seen again. No one knows where they go or what is their final resting place. It has a full interior that you can explore and walk around for yourself. Now then let me say this clear, it is not an adventure map. The reason I say that it's because inside there are books that pretty much follow up to what happen with these poor sailors.
Music Record Scavenger HuntYou an try playing the Music Record Scavenger Hunt. There are 11 hidden records on random chests around the ship. Find them all if you can! Here are the rules:1. Play on moody or relatively dark. Do NOT play on bright.2. Play on creative mode, however do not fly. If you feel like killing monsters, play on Survival Mode.3. Play on Easy. 4. Do not place or break anything.5. Do NOT place redstone torches or any triggering device around. You may blow you. No kidding.
6. You can shoot fire charges from the mouth, there is button inside one of the decks!
7. Have fun and don't be a chicken!
Extra!
Trimaran Assault Vehicle (Concept)
This vehicles are small, versatile and agile. Carrying a turret, and having fast speeds, they are ideal for assault combat on water.
5th Rate Frigate
Commissioned: August 2nd, 2012
This is a 5th rate Frigate with 44 guns. All of it's sails are out, even thought in reality, this wasn't always the case and there had to be optimal conditions for this to happen. The sail set consists of 10 square sails, 1 spritsail, 1 spanker sail, 8 stay sails and 1 jib. It is completely furnished. Due to space availability, this ship can carry up to 48 guns, which would be on the edge of a 4th rate; a super frigate in terms of this kind of ship.
Medium Ship
Commissioned: June 21, 2012
Quick ship that I made for a friend. It's is inspired by Chinese junks, but carries a lateen sail. This is somewhat an experimental ship.
Royal Armistice - Galleon
Commissioned: June 5th, 2012
This is a Galleon built exclusively for Miss Jillian'supcoming RP server. The ships has two lateen sails, 9 square sails, 6 stay sails, and 1 jib. It carries around 30 cannons, serving mostly for trading and transportation purposes. It has a whole interior done, which includes Captain's cabin, officers cabins, gathering room, etc. In all honestly, this ship is not very accurate with a real Galleon.
Enigma - Steampunk Fantasy Ship
Commissioned: May 29th, 2012
Enigma is a Steampunk Fantasy ship that servers mostly for transportation and cargo purposes. It has a futuristic looks to it, while also having somewhat of a steampunk attitude.
The ship includes a steam wheel that propels the ship. It also has the main exhaust vent on top of the steam wheel. It has a smaller exhaust chimney at the front that handles the frontal engine that controls the two frontal propellers, as well as various other aspects of the ship. The ships includes a couple of lighting rods, not only to protect the ship from lightnings, but also to gather electricity, store it, and use it as an alternate generator.
The texture pack used is a customized version of Ovo's Rustic Redemption, put together by lynchyinc.
The other texture as well as the banner was made by Antiqua.
Archangel - Pirate Ship
Commissioned: May 24th, 2012
This is somewhat of a fantasy pirate ship. It has 7 square sails, 3 stay sails, 1 jib, 1 mizzen sail, 4 stay sails and a spritsail.
Dartmouth
Commissioned: May 17th, 2012
This is an overly decorated fantasy looking ship. It is a medium size ship that serves mostly for trading purposes. In all honesty, this is one weird and cluttered looking ship.
The Dirty Servant - Pirate Sloop
Commissioned: May 15th 2012
This sloop is called The Dirty Servant and it's a pirate sloop. This ship will be part of Corsairs Refuge, a project by the Angel Block Society.
Red Baron
Commissioned: April 29th, 2012
The Red Baron is a warship consisting of 8 square sails, 6 stay sails, 1 spanker sail, and a jib. It's 30 cannons combined with its speed and agility, make up for a deadly combination.
Princess Doria - Royal Flagship
Commissioned: April 4th, 2012
This fantasy looking ship was built as a royal flagship of a certain kingdom. It shows up his beauty and agility sailing through the sea, while at the same time taking on any ship that stands on its way. Her cannons are as dead as those of a warship.
Eel's Jag - Sloop
Commissioned: March 2nd, 2012
This is a sloop. Not very realistic, more bent towards the fantasy kind of things.
Devil's Menace - Pirate Ship
Commissioned: February 12, 2012
My first pirate ship! It's based on a galleon.
Ironclad
Commissioned: January 2nd, 2012
A generic model of a late 19th century steamer. it consists of 9 square sails, 3 spanker sails, and 4 stay sails. It also contains a few cannons and turrets, as well as life boats. Due to the height limit at the time, I couldn't make the masts taller. Probably one of he worst ships I have ever done.
Rum Runner - Trading Vessel
Commissioned: December 23rd, 2011
Medium size trading vessel used mostly for coastal trading.
Odyssey - Xebec
Commissioned: December 21st, 2011
This is an attempt to make a small Xebec. Not very realistic looking, but nice enough to be posted.
The Dark Gale - Warship
Commissioned: December 15th, 2011
This is a 4 masted warship. Consists of 10 square sails, 7 stay sails, 1 jib, and one mizzen sail. Featured with black and white sails.
Vilma's Quest - Galleon
Commissioned: December 12th, 2011
First big ship. Consists of 6 square sails, 5 stay sails, 1 spanker sail and 1 jib.

This is awesome. This ship looks better than a lot of the ships I've seen. And the sails look great. They make it seem as if the ship is moving. The only thing is the crow's nest. I think it would look better on the second mast. And the second mast should be taller than the other two. Otherwise, this is great. I wouldn't have known it was your first time unless you'd said it.
It looks like a nice little ship from what I can see, though I haven't seen any internal pics yet. For what it's worth, I'm sure that would be fun to load up as a Zeppelin or using the Custom Ship Creator mod.

Thanks for the comments! Yeah after I finish the ship I saw the crow's nest looked a bit weird in that position. I think I placed it there because of the height limit (I built the ship somewhere else). And I agree, the second mast should be taller. Also I think the back needs a little bit of work now that I look at it well. Thanks for the criticism, I'll be sure to change those things.

Oh boy, I haven't done the interior :unsure.gif:. Considering how awful I am at making interiors it'll probably look weird. I'll see what I can do with the interior though .
this is a pretty good ship although i cant give you constructive critism because im no good at building ships myself!
Thanks man. I'm not very good either, this is just my first time, but I'm sure that you could learn just as I am right now. It just takes a lot of patience. :tongue.gif:
lets see...
1. make the whole ship biggger
2. Move the crows nest to the second mast
3. make the second mast the largest
4. 1 block deeper in the water
Thanks guys for all the responses. I am taking them into account and trying to improve. I did checked that VoxelBox Organic Lines tutorial on Youtube and it as really helpful. I would appreciate more guides like that, specially for sails. Again thanks!
it's nice to see others who share the same interests as me out there :smile.gif:
Me too. =)
It is interesting that we use different concepts of shipmodeling - I'm trying to keep the original shapes and sizes of the ship while you using your imagination: free shapes and colors, and I really like this, it looks great! :wink.gif: (Sorry for bad English, my native language is Russian)
Me too. =)

Yeah, right now I'm experimenting with different styles and shapes. I really want to build more realistic looking ships, but I'm getting there. Oh and your English is just fine :smile.gif:
These are some of the best ships I have seen! I need to find some water on my world and give this a try.
How did you flood the area around your ship?
Thanks mate! I did that with Single Player Comands. Can be found here SPC . I used the wooden axe and selected the region I wanted to flood (right click to select first position and left click to select second position). Then I typed "//replace air water" , without the ".

I did not know SPC did that! I have looked at it before and want to try it, but I am avoiding installing mods that can give me items. I am trying to build legit and would be too tempted.

Yes SPC have WorldEdit on it, which is some sort of terrain editor in game. Didn't know about it till the other day either. Anyway, another option would be building it directly in the water. Maybe you can surround and area and take out all the water. Or building it on land and move the sea. :biggrin.gif: It would be awesome to do it legit.

I apologize in advance if I don't post on an RP for a while; I'm still sorting things out.

Thanks! They are suppose to be the colors of the city I am building.
