It is horrible, do not use this in a map if you are making one. The TUTORIAL is nice, but the build in my opinion is not very good. I build with real style, will be coming out with a tutorial on how to make your house look GOOD.
You do realize this tutorial was made in 2011 right? Detailed and stylistic building had yet to evolve and this was a good starting place for people. So if you want to remake the house be my guest, but keep in mind you're "one-upping" a house that is 4 years old.

Has it really? I don't remember there being cobblestone walls... or colored clay... or colored planks... or stone bricks.... or upside down stairs... Oh I see you used logs and cobblestone. Two of the blocks that were available back in 2011. All these things were added with updates.
i like the simplicity of this house. and how it can be easily built and used in survival. looks like you can add more rooms to the house as well when you run out of room

I've made a nether version of this house. The conversion goes a follows:
Cobblestone = Netherrack and Glowstone
Wood Planks = Nether Brick
Glass = Stained Glass (Red)
Ladders, Doors and Trapdoors = No nether equivalent
