A bunch of us americans have been hanging out on a swedish server. We've got two places going so far:
Possum Lodge: This one's set in a snowy forest just south of Swedenland.
Much further south however is Fort Arf, deep in the desert. Thanks to the planet shifting its axis, it now snows in the desert. :V
(the desert was generated with Sebai's Primordial Desert generator, then added into the server map)
Its an uphill battle to keep snow off my walkways.
It is located on the south side of my castle, but still inside the perimeter wall. I have a small wheat farm on the north side.
Some trees I planted on the top of my castle. It took a few attempts to get all four the same height:
4 block high sugar cane, growing through a tree. A pretty rare find, IMO:
I made most of the 3rd floor of my castle into a library. There are 72 bookcases on the left side, 90 on the right. It took a lot of sugarcanes and wood to complete it. Having two farms helps.
One of the two sugarcane farms. This one is on the west side of the castle, while the other one is near my house.
I've finished the first three floors of the castle, as well as a basement. Here is what each contains:
Basement: storage and workshop, 15 furnaces.
Floor 1: Throne room, treasury, dining hall
Floor 2: Barracks, mess hall, armory, commander's offce & quarters, infirmary
Floor 3: Royal library
I'm thinking of starting a new build project for a citadel in the Nether. I've already decided I want to make it pretty big, and decided to build it in a location with a nice view. For added effect I created a hole in a large lava lake (MCedit, would've taken FOREVER if I did that legit), but I'm lacking some inspiration. Here's the location.
Now, my question to you guys is; what does this make you think of? Have you seen any such scenes in other games, or does it remind you of something in particular? Do you have any ideas for things that this citadel just NEEDS to have? Let me know!
I'm seeing a giant apple on a stick getting dipped into hot caramel.

I think it looks like Ganon's castle from The Legend of Zelda (The N64 version). Although it has been a while since I've played that particular game. Maybe even Blackrock Mountain from World of Warcraft?
Here's my most recent completed project: A bridge leading my group's city on the Yogcast whitelist server. The towers are hooked up to redstone so that you can flip a switch to make the fire turn on and off. All materials were hand-mined.
it's just sitting there watching me...
I made this for my girlfriend
And some Pig photography
think of the creepy children!!!
He is my chicken and I love him.
Or rather, I loved him. After a particularly tragic tragic dungeon run, I returned to my house, only to find dear Oswald gone. :'(

Go to chest, find out you don't actually need anything you've been saving.
