Man I'm depressed. All I have is a relatively tiny lighthouse:
<snip>
It may be small comparatively, but I really like the unique design of it.

Wow, tough stuff to follow here. I'll post mine even though I feel stupid because it's just another castle. You guys have definitely inspired me to build way cooler things than buildings.
<snip>
It is a castle, but it's a cool-looking castle, and I love the look of the floating rock it's built on. Can I see more of that? It really has a natural, ripped from the earth kind of look to it. Well done.

well i cant top all the amazing things here, but i do have a battleship i can show off
it is 277 blocks long, took 56,000 smoothstone and 10,000 planks so far
edit: server this is hosted on is castlecraft.dyndns.org
interior isnt done so u dont get much of that
<snip>
And this battleship is amazing! Cheers and congrats!
My epic, dubbed "Pillaria." Built in the middle of a large sea, it has piers extending in all cardinal directions until it finds land at the same layer. The South Pier goes over lowlands and extends for 970 meters from the center of the tower. It is obviously nowhere near completion, and I am building it on an SMP server, by hand. The primary components are sandstone, smooth stone, and glass. Eventually I aim to make it into a city-like entity, population: me. The towers' base is also raised, so that boats can still get by.
Looking east as the morning sun rises:
At night, it shines in stark contrast to the dark sea below:
Probably a lot less impressive since I liberally used MCEdit and InvEdit...but I think it looks good. And it was fun to build.
It's a bit beyond my draw distance...
A closer look:
The rather empty interior:
And finally the Cartograph:
I'm using Eld's texture pack along with BetterLight. It's based very loosely off of Moscow's Crystal Island, a megastructure (in real life) that is in the planning phase. Look it up if you want some inspiration; it's spectacular and looks a lot better than this Minecraft structure.
I started working on a weird house inside somewhere, but I don't think I like how it turned out. Anyway, here's the save since people requested it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/43096/MC/World5.zip Disclaimer: the interior is not even close to finished; there's tons of empty space. Also there isn't an entrance yet, so you have to climb out on dirt blocks or something. And there's lots of spots mobs can spawn, so set it on peaceful if you don't want issues.
I've become so Numb, I can't feel you there;
Become so tired, so much more aware;
I'm becoming this, all I want to do;
Is be more like me, and be less like you.
spartanmouse - You are a machine dude, the complexity of that thing makes you the dominant Minecraft architect in the world as of today. Anyone who doesn't agree, you don't deserve the opinion.

And here's a Cartograph of my world so far, edited for size.

Woah dude, please show the Sea City. The cartograph of it looks epic.

From the mountain in the first pic:
From a different angle:
I probably made it too tall:
It lights up well at night, though:
And it can be seen from a distance:
Its a sphinx :] My friend asked me to make one...
It's a bit beyond my draw distance...

"Less Impressive"? You're clearly insane.
This is the home of a god.
Amazing.
