Now that the leaf decay has been fixed, I’ve finally been able to work on and finish my World Tree, Forest, and large Swamp areas. Though, I’m not sure I like the roots for the world tree. I made them so they stick up out of the ground and the blockiness of the Minecraft world doesn’t lend very well to artisticness of bare roots and limbs in smaller design resolutions. I’ve been working on the World Tree for 3 months now.
Here are a few screenshots of what things look like right now (in case you can’t tell, the world tree is that massive trunk and canopy that casts a shadow over everything in a few pics),

I’m currently designing a cathedral. It is taking forever and I‘ve only been working on the vaulted ceilings!

Here are a few pics of my latest lighthouse. It is meant to be a replica of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, however, I did not make the sides sloped as they should be. My first light house has the sloped sides (which you can see in the Old Alpha Thread link above.) I confess, I got lazy. Sloped sides take a long time to plan out. At least this one won’t burn down like the other one did that one time. lol I may use an editor like MCEdit to move this lighthouse to a better looking location. I was inspired when I built it (because I has soooo many buckets of lava in the Nether at the time), and didn’t explore to find a good location at the time.
The Clocktower of Cartesian Alignment- materials were donated by an OP, but the mining operation to reach bedrock in a 40x40 area was full legit, as well as the actual exterior construction.

That is nice. Love the glowing clock face. Too bad the height limit restricts tall structures so much. I was only a couple blocks short of the limit with my last lighthouse above.
Wow, that really nice epic pictures you got there.
Thanks. I was disappointed that I needed to make a second thread for this, but the old one(entire Alpha board actually) was locked when Minecraft went into Beta stage. I just want to see all the cool stuff other people have been making.
Tell me how to upload screenshots and I'll show you my castle and/or rebel outpost that has a secret hidden entrance.
No, its not behind that painting.
I use Photobucket.com to upload my images to. You can then get the URL to paste here. If you use the "simg" code it will allow people to click on the image to see the fullsized image and it will make it a thumbnail that will fit more properly on to the board. You can also use any other image hosting website that allows hotlinking like Photobucket does. Is that sufficient info to get you started?
I for some reason can not upload directly to minecraftforum.
Alright, since no one is posting new stuff, Ill post some new stuff. I havent posted this yet, because I was not posting stuff that I created nearly exclusively in MCEdit.

That's pretty epic. Love the lava for ammo going up the leg and in to the guns. They look really cool.

Saw your preview post and your still as amazing as you were XD
Would love to see some rare natural tree like that, now set it on fire while sipping some coffee.

Thanks. I originally was going to make a floating terrarium, but when I saw it from afar I instantly had flashbacks of robots from old B&W sci-fi movies. So, I merged the two.
What mod did you use for those trees? Unless you hacked in leaves and placed everything yourself.
For the world tree, I built the trunks and main limbs with trees I grew and harvested. The canopy of leaves was grown and then some of it sculpted/hacked away to make it look better. It took about 3 months work to make. During the time in Alpha when leaf decay was turned off worked came to a halt and I used a little bit of MCEdit to a few of the near final branches. Once leaf decay came back on and was finally fixed, I resumed growing tree in the top to make the leaves and harvesting a forest to build the limbs and then roots. Because I wanted the roots to extend a great depth into the ground I used MCEdit to clone roots I made by hand and put them into the ground with the editor. This way I could be mining around and find roots, walk in a cave and find roots, etc. Most of the tree is legitimate save the in-ground roots and a few branches.
The swamps and regular forest are another matter. I built them by hand and grew their canopies from saplings like the world tree, however, I cloned many of them to create a massive forest. I personally hand created several different sizes and simply cloned those.
I never used item hacks or mods for the trees.
As for the robot, it is about 99% MCEdit. I just wanted to create. Doing it legitimately would be nearly impossible and more than likely take a couple years to mine all that iron ore to make the blocks.
In hindsight, I should have used more MCEdit for building the World Tree and saved 3 months of my life. When I looks back on it, I can't believe I did most of it by hand and all on Hard mode. I think I've for the most part have moved on from the old mining aspect of the game and now I'm into the more creative aspect of it; though I still do the survival stuff.
