Hey, I downloaded the screensaver but when I wait for the computer to start the screensaver, it will start and then quit the screensaver after a few seconds. Any ideas on how to fix this?

In the Screensaver's Settings turn on "Ignore Mouse Movement".
For some reason I can't see the "right text", "subtitles" or "version number" on the MineCraft Title Screen. Would really love this to make it more lively!
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
All are checked under the Settings menu.
Edit: Also, can't set Mob Type under Animated Mobs.

Do you see any text with the "Minecraft Logo" mode? Also are you running a "Clean" version of minecraft (As in free of mods) and have the default texture pack selected in the screensaver's options(The screensaver will use the font from minecrafts own jar)?
Note: You can use it with a modded version of Minecraft, though if a mod messes with the fonts then it may cause problems.

The mobs have never been finished off.
For the second one, ah. For the first, I use Magic Launcher which should keep the minecraft.jar clean when it's not in use, however I'll do a fresh install and check this out. No, I can't see the text under MineCraft Logo either. I can see MINECRAFT but not the subtitle text. Will update after trying a fresh version of MineCraft.
Edit:
Did a Force Update of MineCraft. No dice, still no text on the screensaver. Any prerequisites to this I may be missing?
As long as the screensaver can find the Minecraft directory (Well the minecraft.jar) then it will just use the font files found within the minecraft.jar (Unless a texture pack is selected and it will look there first). The screensaver does come with fallback font files if the screensaver doesn't have a valid minecraft directory set.
The fonts are just images so if you can see other images then it should work.
You could try the current Work In Progress version which uses the unicode fonts instead of the ascii one. Extract it to the location you installed the screensaver to (Which should be something like C:\Windows\System32\).
Note: The above download only contains ssmci.exe .
P.S For reference the screensaver only considers a minecraft directory valid if it contains a bin directory which has a minecraft.jar in it. So you can set the screensaver to use a minecraft.jar located in a directory other than the default minecraft one. So for example if you placed a minecraft.jar in C:\bin\ you just tell the screensaver the minecraft directory is C:\ .
Just out of curiousity, did you hit a wall on level viewing? I saw in the beginning you were working on that. Or is it explained somewhere in the last 16 pages.... lol.
Notch changed the level format. I did write a level viewer while i was on holiday in 2011 for the MCR format though the current format is Anvil. The level viewer was basic (With a rubbish frame rate. Iv never worked out how to render a blocky world like Minecraft does while still having a decent framerate) though decent considering i didn't have access to the internet while on holiday and i only had some of the MinecraftWiki.net pages saved(Ones which give details on the level format).
The only application i worked on which supports Anvil was MCI World Map which was designed to render fake isometric views of Minecraft Maps. It supports both the MCR format and Anvil format. Though it rearly needs to be re-designed so that you can have transparent water. Its never been released (It was started around February 2012).
Note: Pink means that its found a block which it doesn't know about. So it renders it pink(Makes it easy to spot blocks which it doesn't know about).
I did an uninstall, reboot, manually cleaned out the files (weren't removed in the uninstall for some reason) and then reinstalled. Running 2.2.0.71. Everything is working now.

Files added after the installation won't be removed(As in anything created by the screensaver, which includes the %appdata%\ssmci\ folder). With Vista/7 you can have problems installing the screensaver with the installer, so there may also be problems uninstalling. From what i can tell the problem is the EVIL UAC which likes to block anything you try and do with the Windows directory. Anti-Virus applications can also block the installer as some assume that any action done on the windows directory has to be malicious....
Because of both, its recommended to manually install using the version which doesn't have an installer. Its the only reason why there are two download options.

I would give you credit.
As long as the screensaver is not altered, used commercially or claimed to be made by others then i don't mind what people do with it.
