I'm back after a while of silence. I put it on hold because I had some other stuff to do, but now I'm back on it. I decided I'd make a new Steve Rig. I'm working on it, more will come later.
Steve Rig Download[17-7-2012] (version 2)
Ok. I decided I'd release a very basic Steve Rig. It actually is the very first rig I put on this forum. It features:
- Face expressions using Shape Keys
- Basic body parts movement
Dude this is really good, I'm trying to create a game using unity 3d, and Blender / Maya models which I have to make myself, and have had no luck. But this is really fantastic keep up the good work.
I've been messing with it a bit more, fixed and tweaked some stuff for me to animate it better.
Longer videos will come later, these are just 'testing' videos to improve animating skills and fix/improve stuff on the model.
This time I went a bit crazy making him go headbanging. Comments/critics appreciated.
Thank you guys for being such posiive :D. I'm currently mainly testing on how everything works and sometimes fix some parts.
@Praash
Hum, how do you use those B-Splines? I don't seem to be able to find them to use in Blender. And I currently already subdivided it a bit more, it looks way better than the first vid.
BTW, those expressions aren't that hard. I have some shape keys used for:
- Eyelids (both upper and lower ones)
- Mouth 'opened' for the X and Y coord.
- Moving teeth.
- Very simple eyebrows, they can move up and down and rotate 'angry'.
Thanks for your help, I implemented the B-Splines. It looks better now. I'm not going to post how it looks now, I'm working on it. But expect an update in a few days.
The creeper is made as well! Sorry Praash I progress that quickly.
BTW, from now on I'm gonna put the images in spoilers as the page can get quite image-heavy over time.
Normal creeper:
Got a new update! From now on all updates will be announced by new posts, and it will be 'published' in the first post. As you may see the first post is edited. This time the skeleton is made and fully rigged, and a bow and diamond sword is made.
Nice job you did :D. Anyway, I found a nice tool called Mc2Obj. You just choose a save file, select an area and it converts it to a .obj file which you can easily import in Blender. The only thing you need to do after is fix the texture settings and (maybe) make a nice reflective water. I messed a bit with it and ended up with this:
I still have to tweak some stuff, but I still got to make a few more mobs. When that's done, I'll give you an update on how they're done and I'm gonna start on a short animation with most mobs included. While I'm doing that I probably won't really update this thread.
Thanks. I can't wait myself as well xD. Anyways, I've been working on the movie, and as a 'side project' (not really, this scene will be used in the movie) I made a good-looking picture. I'll show you the original render, and an post-processed one (it is automated in Blender). As you can see there is a HUGE difference between them. In my opinion the post-processed has a better feeling to it.
I updated the first post! A rig is for download for use in your own work and such. Be sure to credit me if you release it or anything like that. I have animated some stuff, but I stumbled upon a problem and I'm trying to fix/improve it. Also, comments/critics are really appreciated! It makes me feel better, as I currently feel like I'm doing it for... just myself.
