I have been trying to make a 3D game in java after playing Minecraft. Recently I decided to attempt some 4D renderings. Everything is done manually rather than using a graphics library, so there are some(a lot of) errors that need to be fixed. The gifs were created by incrementing the rotation angle and taking screenshots. Effects were added later in paint.net to improve visibility.
These are not exact analogs of the shapes in 4D, I have no idea how to do that. An analogy would be adding a dimension to a 2D triangle to create a triangular prism, instead of a tetrahedron, so technically these are creeper and pig prisms.?
I could attempt to make a zombie and skeleton, but the spider would be very difficult. Even in 3D, it's sort of confusing to make the models(and to get the drawing loops to actually work).
Hey, if you're planning on writing a 3d game in Java, use a graphics library (i.e. OpenGL). Otherwise, your game will have no hardware acceleration and run at one or two fps. In addition, writing a software rasterizer is not an easy task.
Yeah, I know I'll have to eventually learn to use a graphics library. However, it is possible to do everything from scratch and still get reasonable(though still a lot slower than normal) speed. The program I am writing gets ~70 or greater fps, and uses rasterization (you can look up and down, it isn't raycasting). I took a shortcut with the texture mapping though, and there is a problem that doesn't seem to have a fast solution.

Technically you cannot see a four dimensional object from a three dimensional view point. Imagine your in a two dimensional universe. A three dimensional sphere passes through your two dimensional plane. It would look like a small circle getting bigger, then becoming smaller.
(Also, all of you people who think paper is two dimensional, **** you, your retarded.)

Whose retarded? Your retarded or my retarded?
Anyway...
You can see a four dimensional object, just not the entire four dimensional object at the same time.

These are very cool. Not only because you actually know what 4D is, but also because you're able to make some cool renders out of it. +respect, if you care.

I think the retarded is yours. :smile.gif:

Did you even read my post?
You can see parts four-dimensional objects theoretically.
In the same way that a square would theoretically see a bouncing ball as an undulating curved wall/circle.
Do you even have any knowledge on the subject or were you just making weird assumptions and telling people they were wrong?
Well then describe this fourth dimention of space... any point in space can be given by 3 dimentions. I do admit that these are kind of perplexing though.
I seriously wish you guys could get off your high horse trying to look "smart".
Look, it doesn't take much brains to visualize the fourth dimension, it's like picturing a new colour... eZ pZ lemon squeeZ,
Grade-School ****.

Dunning Kruger effect FTL.
i cant wait until its finished.
Space(3D) + Time(1D) =4D
to give you an idea of the way that the fourth spatial dimension works, here's a hypercube, or a tesseract, a four-dimensional cube.
And also, to give you an idea of the way that it relates, here's a video by Carl Sagan:
