In an attempt to replace my cancelled story, Manipulation, I have created this demented tale involving the Wither. If you notice, this story uses the same chapter setup as Manipulation.
" Work"> Each book will be ten chapters, but also have an "intro". An intro is basically a chapter that gets the book going, but does not count as "chapter one" or "chapter six" or whatever. Just keep that in mind and keep reading!
Hello, human. I am the Wither. You must be dying to read this story. Well, here's the chapter titles:

Wither Study with Dr. James White
Wither Study: Introduction
The Wither is one of the most feared creatures in the world of Minecraft. But what exactly is the Wither? Why
does it only reveal itself when you make a strange statue? Well, for years I have been gathering information on the Wither. But first, we must explore the origin of the Nether Star…
Wither Study: Nether Star
The Wither is known to reward a Nether star to those who can defeat of it. But what is it, exactly? After much investigating, I have discovered that it is actually the Wither's soul. Every time it is summoned again, its soul regenerates, allowing anyone to collect a Nether Star an infinite number of times. Its immense power can be used to generate special potion effects when it is used with great treasure such as gold or diamonds. Now that we know what the Nether Star is, let's look into the actual Wither's history…
Wither Study: Wither's History
According to the Mortin tribe, a tribe that worships the Wither, the Wither's origin is a very ancient legend that goes like this:
There once was a warrior who could never be defeated. Whenever someone challenged him, they always lost. Notch knew that many people who fought the warrior weren't actually strong enough but thought they were. The warrior knew of this too, but fought the people anyway. Notch was angry with this and cursed him so that only people who actually had a chance of beating him could defeat him. Those who could defeat the warrior would obtain his soul, which was a great treasure. The warrior, now known as the Wither, is cursed to battle anyone who performs the Ritual of Souls to summon him. However, if the Wither defeats someone in battle, he will be set free until one defeats him again. He can even transform into his human state and disguise himself. The Ritual of Souls will not work until this freed form of the Wither is killed.
Of course, this is a legend, so most of it may not be true. Let's look into a fighting strategy for the Wither…
Wither Study: Wither Battle Strategy
The Wither has the ability to fly around to easily destroy foes. It sees anything as a threat. It is best to use a bow or other ranged weapon when he is flying. It will shoot wither skeletons skulls imbued with the wither effect at anything that it thinks is remotely threatening. However, these are very slow and easy to dodge.
Once the Wither has been greatly damaged, it will summon an energy barrier that arrows cannot pass through, making it only defeat-able by sword or other melee weapon. However, the barrier will weight it down to the ground, making it easier to hit. The Wither will still have the same attacks, but will be much closer to you so it will be harder to dodge. The best thing to do is get somewhat close to the Wither, dodge a skull and then charge at it and hit it a few times, then get out of the way of its next attack.
Upon defeat, the Nether Star will be dropped. Its uses were explained earlier. Now, let's wrap this investigation up...
Wither Study: Conclusion
Though it may come as a shock to you, I believe that the Mortin tribe legend is true. It is the only explanation that has been made and it would fit its magical properties. Let's just hope that no one dies while fighting the Wither.
That would be a disaster.
Book One Introduction:
Three Tomes to Guide You
Setting: White Residence, Six Months Earlier
Perspective: James
Someone, but I don't know who, was clearly an idiot. They tried to fight the Wither with only leather armor, a very damaged bow, and a stone sword. I don't need to explain the gory experience, do I?
Whoever had done this had fought the Wither in the Nether, making it a lot harder to fight. Someone climbed all the way up to my house on a mountain to ask for my help. I knew the most about the Wither and so I was sent to kill it.
I brought my diamond gear and an infinity bow that was only slightly damaged and was about to head over to my Nether portal when my brother Gary walked up to me. We lived here together along with my best friend Luke, who was currently mining.
"Are you trying to slay the Ender Dragon or something?" Gary asked, "You're in your best fighting gear, so I don't see anything else you could be doing."
"Close. I have to go hunt the Wither," I said, then adding, "again."
"Who made the dumb mistake this time?"
"To be honest, I have no idea."
"Well, good luck out there. I better go check on the farm."
"Okay, bye."
Once Gary left the house, I headed over to the bookshelf and removed the only black book. Many pistons retracted to eventually reveal my secret basement. I headed into the entrance and put the black book into a hopper chain. The chain would send the book back to its shelf.
Not much was really inside. The basement was really more of a private office. Out of the desk I pulled out three books: The Legend of Herobrine (a classic in my opinion,) The Eye Project, and Items of Legend.
If I never made it back from my battle with the Wither, everything Gary would need would be in these books. I headed back to the staircase and pushed a button, which opened the door for a few seconds. I quickly ran through.
I went outside and approached my Nether portal. However, a zombie pigman had somehow snuck its way through. I kicked it, snatched its sword and cut its head off before it could react.
I stepped into the portal and suddenly found myself in the Nether. According to my source, the person had fought the Wither at Fortress D. There were five known Nether Fortresses, each labeled A-E.
I finally approached a wall in a cave. Quickly breaking the correct block of Netherrack, I pulled the lever that would open Fortress D. Fortress D had been sealed off due to a blaze infestation. Only a select few fighters still had access.
As soon as the pistons retracted and opened up Fortress D, the Wither stood before me. It seemed to have a smile, though it could barely make expressions.
"Let's just get this over with," I said.
"Did you not realize that this was a trap?" the Wither said. I heard a loud rumbling and look behind me. Netherrack rose up in the form of a hand. The hand lunger for me and grabbed me. I turned back to the Wither.
"Let's have a little fun," he said.
One:
Cosmic Doohickey
Setting: White Residence
Perspective: Gary
"Hey, Gary! You have to come back to the mineshaft with me. You'll never guess what I found!" Luke called from inside the house. He must've just come back from another mining trip. All the animals had just been fed, so I walked inside the house.
It wasn't technically my house. It was my brother's. But he had been missing for six months now ever since he went to fight the Wither. The house was really more of a mansion, with three floors. The bedrooms were on the second floor.
One small room was simply many chests filled with mining supplies and a trapdoor above a ladder. Luke was waiting in the room.
"So, what is it?" I asked.
"Well, I was mining a bit higher since we needed coal when I found this secret room," Luke said, "I knew right away that this had something to do with James."
"We better go see this. If something went wrong, we may be able to take down the Wither ourselves."
"Don't aim too high, Gary."
Me and Luke headed down the ladder into Luke's mineshaft. He led me into one of his many tunnels to a room made of oak planks and logs. A shelf lay on the right side and a desk was in the middle. On the desk were three books.
"Check this place out," I said, "It's like a private office. Why wouldn't James tell us about this?"
"There are some things you have to keep private," Luke said, "But now that James is missing, he must've left something behind to help us."
I picked up Items of Legend and Luke picked up The Legend of Herobrine. I opened the book to the blank page at the beginning. Sure enough, James had written some things in there:
Gary, I knew you were going to pick this book up first. If you're reading this, I've either been killed or captured by the Wither. Give Luke The Legend of Herobrine. The Eye Project will be useful later on. Use this book to find some hidden weapons and armor along with learning how to fight well.
Good luck out there
-J
I continued reading. In the Fabled Weapons section, I noticed on the blade called Nethersbane, James had written, Krtnvm hvg fk gizk. This was a common code that James used. It translated to: Pigmen set up trap. This probably meant not to look for it.
The Cosmic Blade appeared to be an easy one to get. The book said that the Cosmic Blade was hidden in a meteor 500 meters south of the village that this house overlooked and where me and James used to live.
"Find anything useful yet?" I asked Luke.
"Yeah," Luke said, "Get this: somewhere in a deep cave, there's a hidden button that will open up a chamber filled with many of Herobrine's greatest treasures."
"It's a good thing you picked up that book. James actually said for you to read that one. I found out about this sword called the Cosmic Blade which is apparently hidden inside a meteor that is 500 meters south of the village."
"I've actually seen that meteor before. If we're going to be rescuing anyone, we'll definitely want some of the stuff in that book. Did you find anything else?"
"Yeah. There's this sword called Nethersbane, but apparently some zombie pigmen set up a trap so no one can get to it."
"That's odd. Anyway, let's get going."
"Yep. Who knows? We may wind up saving the world or something…"
Two:
Aliomundei, The Wandering Bard
(The Cosmic Blade Part 1/3)
Place: Fortress A in the Nether
Perspective: Gary
You may be wondering why I went into the Nether to look for Nethersbane when James specifically told me not to look for it. Well, not specifically. But you get the point.
Luke said he should get the Cosmic Blade for some reason, so we decided to look for Nethersbane first. Luke knew a lot about redstone to go with his mining skill, so he knew every trap possibility.
The book said that Nethersbane was located under a blaze spawner at Fortress A, so we were gonna have to do some fighting.
"Wait. How much do you know about fighting?" Luke asked.
"Enough to defend myself from blazes. A diamond hoe makes a good scythe and iron armor with protection II on the chestplate makes pretty good defense in my opinion," I said. Luke nodded in approval. He had a diamond chestplate and pants with an iron helmet and boots.
Luke also fought with an iron sword, but it had Sharpness III. He wasn't an idiot. We headed over to the first blaze spawner where two blazes awaited.
"Go for the spawner," I said, "I got the blazes."
I did a roll under a blaze fireball and quickly drank a fire protection potion. Those blazes couldn't hurt me now. I ran up to one and dug my hoe/scythe (I think I'll just refer to it as a scythe when I fight with it) into one of its rods.
The blaze made a weird sound and I hit it again. It whacked one of its other rods into me and knocked me back. Meanwhile, Luke had taken care of the spawners and began sniping the other blaze.
In about thirty more seconds we had taken both down. Under the spawner was a ladder that led down into some chamber under the lava.
I went down the ladder and noticed at the bottom there was a pressure plate. Like that was gonna fool me.
"Hey Luke," I said, "Can you hand me a pick?"
An iron pick clanged its way down the ladder and got stuck in the wall just below me. I grabbed it and tried to pull it out. Eventually, I got it out of the wall. I realized then that my fire resist potion had worn off.
However, it flew out of my hand and fell down, getting stuck in the pressure plate. Nice going, I thought. If I could carefully grab it, I wouldn't set off the trap.
However, my foot slipped and I landed on the pressure plate. Pistons retracted and lava began to pour in.
"Climb back up! Climb back up! This place is gonna flood!" I yelled. Luke quickly climbed up the ladder and I followed. Lava flowed up, burning the ladder as I ascended.
At the top, a man with black hair and brown eyes waited for us. He had a brown shirt and brown pants. His shoes were worn, so he must've been traveling a lot.
"You gotta be careful around here," the man said, "My name's Aliomundei. I've been stuck in here for who knows how long. Do you two know a way out of here?"
"Yeah," I said, "I'm Gary and this is Luke. We just came from the Overworld to get a sword called Nethersbane, but a trap got set off. In fact, we better step away from there."
All three of us backed away. We were just in time, because lava spewed out the top, covering the area where we were just standing.
"We're looking for Gary's brother." Luke said, "who was captured by the Wither. We're looking for some weapons. Hey, wanna help us?"
"Uh, sure," Aliomundei said, "But I already have a weapon. It's been a long time since I was in the Overworld, so I can't wait to see it again."
Three Wither skeletons rushed in, carrying diamond swords instead of the usual stone ones.
"The boss says yous two would be here," one said, "But I wasn't told about a third guy."
"Who cares?" another said, "We'll kill 'em all!"
"You forgot about the farmer," the last one said, "We've got specific orders to capture him, not kill him."
Three:
Master Using It...
(The Cosmic Blade—Part 2/3)
Setting: Fortress A
Perspective: Gary
"So you think we're just gonna go along with this?" Luke said.
"Well, seeing as youse three has no other choice," the first skeleton said, "I do think you're going to go along. Do you think you'll beat us three? Get 'em!"
The three charged at us. Aliomundei took out his diamond sword and was locked in a duel. Luke was dealing with my trouble as the skeleton had a better sword. However, I had my own trouble.
Scythe against sword wasn't the easiest fight, but I think I was doing pretty well. I was used to using it as a hoe, but it was very good in duels, too. I thought I was winning until the skeleton sliced my blade in two.
I ducked under its next strike and picked up the two broken ends of my scythe. My only hope was to dodge until I came up with a plan. However, it wasn't getting any easier. I didn't have a spare scythe, but I did have a stone sword that I could use.
"Funny," the skeleton said, "If the boss hadn't given me this sword, I would've had a measly one like the one you're fighting with now. This will be fun."
The skeleton strikes again, denting my chest plate. Trying to pierce it, he kept pushing with his sword. I used the opportunity and did a backflip, knocking his sword out of the way as I flipped. I caught it as it came down.
"That was just a warm-up. I think you want this sword, but it's mine," the skelton said, pulling out a sword with a yellowish-white blade with a star engraving on the red hilt. The Cosmic Blade.
"Just wait until I'm done with you!" the skeleton shouted, "There'll be both left except dust!"
Before I could strike, he blocked my blow. The Cosmic Blade was clearly much lighter. Maybe if I got him to swing hard enough, the sword would fly out of his hand.
The skeleton held his sword up to the air. I stabbed him, but it wasn't enough to kill him. His sword was now enveloped in light. He brought it down and a giant obsidian meteor appeared out of nowhere headed for me. I tried moving out of the way, but it moved. It clearly was targeting me. I still had to block the skeleton's blows.
Then it hit me. I faked, then rolled under his legs just as the meteor was about to hit. The meteor hit the skeleton, leaving behind only bits of obsidian and black bones. The Cosmic Blade landed a few feet away. Luke and Aliomundei has defeated their skeletons, too.
Luke was about to go over and pick it up when a person who looked more like a shadow jumped down from nowhere and jumped back up just as fast. He was gone before we knew it. The Cosmic Blade was stolen.
A voice echoed through the air, Master using it and you can have this...
"I have no idea what that means, but I am going to hunt that guy down as long as I have to to get that back," Luke said.
"Don't forget about Gary's brother," Aliomundei said, "That is the matter at hand. Who knows what torture he is going through as we speak..."
"Good point," Luke said, "I just wish we knew where to find him."
"I feel the same," I said, "But we're just going to have to live with this. Let's head back to the Overworld. I just realized that we forgot to bring the other two books when we came here."
When we arrived back at the Overworld, Aliomundei seemed awkwardly joyful. It was like he had never seen the Overworld before. Then I remembered that he had been trapped in the Nether.
"Thank you for bringing me back to the Overworld," Aliomundei said, "Now we must do all that we can to fight the Wither. It may already be too late."
Luke, using his amazing knowledge of redstone, had built a secret piston elevator up the mountain. As there was a lot of exposed stone, he easily his a button that would open up a hidden piston door, revealing the entrance to the elevator. People often compared him to someone named SethBling.
"I have to admit," Luke said on the way up, "I've impressed myself."
He actually finished the last part once we had reached the top. The elevator was much faster than climbing up a ladder. Jumping off a cliff was less than three times the speed (which makes the elevator a lot faster than you think).
Instead of heading inside the mineshaft, we just headed over to the bookshelf inside the house. Both me and Luke had silently realized that there was probably a secret entrance in the one place James always was.
"There's probably a secret button behind some of the books. Look behind every single one," I said. We scattered all the books, throwing them behind our backs. I took out a black one and heard a few pistons retract. Clearly James had some redstone knowledge too.
"Nice job, Gary," Luke said, "Now it'll be pretty easy to get back here. You might want to put the book in that hopper."
Inside the short hallway that the piston door lead to was a hopper. I put the book in and the door shut behind us. But a few steps ahead was a button to open it again. The three of us headed into the secret study.
The books were where Luke had left them, but there was an envelope on top of them. I picked it up. It had been sealed with a Wither Skeleton Skull sticker. This meant trouble. I opened it and noticed that the note inside was only three words.
Trust no one.
Four:
…And You Can Have This
(The Cosmic Blade—Part 3/3)
Setting: James's Secret Room
Perspective: Gary
This is something I should keep to myself, I thought. But it was too late. Aliomundei had already looked in that direction.
"What's that?" he asked, looking at the envelope sticking out of my pocket.
"It's nothing," I said, "We should focus on looking through these books to find out who that guy is and how he just appeared in the Nether Fortress."
"Found it," Luke said about two seconds afterwards, "One of the chapters in The Legend of Herobrine mentions a mechanical genius. Three chapters later, he actually appears using a teleportation device."
"Does it say where he lives?" Aliomundei asked.
"Let me check," Luke said, flipping through the pages, "Here we go. After the main character locks Herobrine away in the Nether, James circled a sentence about a mountain with a similar shape to the one we're on right now. In a previous sentence, he circles the word cloud. He must be talking about the Aether!"
"Nice one," Aliomundei said, "You pieced it together well. So how do we activate an Aether portal?"
Aliomundei picked up The Eye Project, which looked longer than normal.
"Wait a minute," he said, "This isn't just the one story. It's the entire series! Into the Heavens is about the Aether. In Chapter Two, Steve makes an Aether portal. This is it!"
"Well, let's go!" I said, "There's no time to waste."
Luke and me headed over to James's Nether portal area. Behind it, Aliomundei took out some glowstone and build a frame that looked like a Nether portal. Before we went in, somebody mined out some blocks and walked in.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I'm Chris," he said, "I'm a miner. What are you doing?"
I explained the entire story to him. I told him everything from the hidden room to the point we had met him.
"Mind if I come along?" Chris asked. After a bit of conversation, we all agreed that Chris could come with us.
"Anybody got a bucket of water?" he asked. I took out mine and handed it to Aliomundei. He tossed the water into the portal frame. It created a blue version of a nether portal. It was amazing.
The portal felt wet when I stepped inside. I didn't dare move or else I might get caught between dimensions. Suddenly, I saw no wall in front of me or room behind me. Everything was simply blue. I felt like I was shooting up as fast as a rocket before I knew what happened. After a few seconds, I was in the Aether.
The Aether was a series of islands floating in the sky. The dirt was blue and the grass was turquoise. I had heard that a bunch of mobs were here, giving it the nickname "Hostile Paradise". However, the Aether seemed to be abandoned.
To the right of the portal was a mountain that looked like the one me and Luke lived on. On the side was a button.
"Well, here we are," Luke said, "The Aether. Hey! I see the mountain! What's with the button?"
I walked over and pressed it. Suddenly, a large chunk of land broke off from the ground and made me rise up to the top of the mountain, where a small shack was. So a mechanical genius lived in a small shack. Odd…
"How the heck did he do that?" Chris asked once he came up, "And why does he live in such a small place?"
A shadowy figure opened the door. He walked over and examined us, as if we seemed familiar. It was strange how he just seemed to be a black figure.
"You here for the Cosmic Blade?" he asked, "The name's Terrence."
"Nice to meet you," I said, "And, yes, we're here from the Cosmic Blade."
"Okay. I got it right here," Terrence said. He reached to his side as if there was an invisible pocket and pulled out the Cosmic Blade. He threw it over to Luke, who caught it.
"Maybe it's time I took this disguise off," Terrence said, "After all, you may remember me, Luke."
"What, how do you know my name?" Luke asked. Terrence tapped on his arm a few times and the shadowy disguise faded, revealing the person behind. All three of us started at Terrence in shock.
Terrence looked exactly like Luke.
Five:
The Last Aethrite
Setting: The Aether
Perspective: Gary
The only difference between Luke and Terrence was the fact that Terrence had a blue, mechanical eyepiece and two silver gloves with a panel of buttons on each.
"What the-?" Luke said, "Why do you look like me?"
"It's a long story," Terrence said, "We're not exactly siblings, but it'll all be explained. Since the Aether had no people in it, a group of scientists came and tested out cloning machines. The machine would make a clone of every person born in the Overworld. I'm one of them, as you can see. Five months or so ago, the Aether was attacked by the forces of the Wither. I am the last survivor. I am the last Aethrite."
"So… you're me?" Luke asked.
"Pretty much. Been living here for a while. I've been working on something that I saw in Shadows of Reality. The glove that makes the opposite energy power of its target."
"I didn't see it in the book," Aliomundei said, "But it sounds powerful. If we can get that glove, we could take down the Wither for good."
"Yeah," Terrence said, "I'm calling it Counterstrike. I've been spending the past month gathering Gravitite to fuel my command block model. If I can make a working command block, I can make Counterstrike with it."
"Genius," Luke said, "What else are you using for the command block?"
"Mainly Zanite, but I've got some meteorite using the Cosmic Blade, which is why I took it. I'm also using ambrosium torches."
"Can I see it?"
"Sure," Terrence said, "All of you, come with me."
We followed him inside his house, which was blocked with iron doors. Terrence pushed a small button on top of his eyepiece and the doors opened. We followed him inside and the doors closed after a short time. Actually, the doors slapped me forward as I walked in.
"It's so… small," Luke said, looking around. It was just a workshop with half of an orange cube on the desk. Inside it were strange materials. Some were pink and purple. Luke walked over and examined the cube. After a while, he came up with his own mechanical analysis.
"Here's your problem," Luke said, "You need some Overworld materials. Some iron and redstone. I brought some with me, so you're in luck."
He handed Terrence the materials he would need. Terrence walked over to his desk and began tinkering with the cube. He pushed a button, and suddenly he was gone. Instantly, he reappeared at the middle of the room.
"I don't believe it!" he said, "It works! But of course, we still have build Counterstrike. Maybe you can help me. I, too, need to kill the Wither. Not just to avenge my people, but because I'll need two power sources. One will be an Aether Star and the other a Dragon Egg."
"Aether Star?" I asked.
"A lost item hidden in one of the Aether temples. Largest power source to exist in the universe and it still can't power Counterstrike by itself. I'll need your help to gather the materials."
"And together we'll get the Wither."
"I've been wanting to ask," Aliomundei said, "What's the eyepiece for?"
"Little did you know," Terrence said, "I'm actually blind. This eyepiece functions as a mechanical set of eyes, but better. It can be used to target things. It's linked to my gloves, which I use to fight. I can manipulate the energy of the earth and I use that against hostiles."
"Nice," Luke said, "We better get going. The Wither is getting more powerful as we speak."

“So, do you know which temple this Aether Star is hidden in?” I asked, “Or do you have some high-tech locator we can use to find it?”
“Well...” Terrence said, ”I do have an energy locator we can use. I've seen where the Aether Star was before, but I would never dare look for it alone.”
“Then what are you waiting for?” Luke said, “Get that thing out! We need to build that contraption and stomp that Wither into dust!”
“You're so impatient. I'll get the locator now,” Terrence said. He pulled a switch under the table to reveal a shelf. He reached over and picked up what looked like a screen with a handle. The device had an antenna sticking out.
I walked over and looked at the screen. A weird sound kept playing. On the screen were many yellow rings which must have represented the energy signals.
“No! That's impossible!” Terrence said, “The Aether Star. It's-it's...”
“It's what?” Chris asked.
“It's gone.”
“What do you mean, gone?”
“Gone, as in, it doesn't exist. At least, not in the Aether it doesn't.”
“How is that possible?”
“Someone stole it. And I thi-”
“Not now,” Luke said, “There's trouble coming.”

Place: Fortress D
Perspective: James
Hopefully Gary had at least made it to the Aether by now. Being in the Nether, I really had no idea if it was day or night. I had been trapped in a bedrock prison, so there was no escape.
From it, I could view the Wither's throne room. He had commanded armies and everything, but nothing interesting had happened up until this point. A pigman walked up to the Wither's throne and bowed.
“What is it, General Commus?” the Wither asked.
“I bring you four prisoners we captured on our third search of the Aether,” Commus said, “One of them is a mechanical genius who may be of use to you.”
Of course, fate played a cruel joke on me. The four prisoners were Gary, Terrence, Luke, and a person I had never seen.
“And this,” Gary said, sighing, “is why I hate pigmen.”
Seven:
Why I Hate Pigmen
Setting: Fortress D Perspective: Gary
Me and the others had been put in a cage across from James.
"So we're all trapped," James said, "So much for you guys saving me."
"We still have Chris," Terrence said.
"Chris?" James asked.
"He's a miner we met right before we went to the Aether," I said, "He managed to get out of a pigman's grasp just before we got thrown into the cell. Looks like he's our only hope."
"Not to poke any holes in your hope," Luke said, "But this cage is made of bedrock."
"Not if you gather a whole lot of ghasts," Chris shouted. Suddenly there was a thundering explosion as a small hole was blown into the cage.
"Kill the Ghasts!" Commus shouted. Millions of arrows whizzed through the air and hit the ghasts. Terrence created a land bridge with his gloves so we could get down safely.
"We'll come back for you, James!" I shouted back, "I promise! We'll find a way to save you!"
Terrence looked at a screen on his glove.
"The Aether Star!" he shouted, "It's here. It's in one of these fortresses!"
"Not now, Terrence!" I said, "We need to run!"
Luke reached for the Cosmic Blade and pulled it out. He summoned down a meteor onto the pigmen soldiers.
"Terrence, netherrack blockade!" I shouted. Terrence swiped his glove in an upwards motion and four walls surrounded the pigmen, trapping them. We kept running until we reached a room in Fortress B. Then Terrence sealed it in.
"Ok," Luke said, "We're safe for now. Good work back there, Chris. How'd you do that?"
"Mining a network of tunnels so every ghast would see me," Chris said, "Pretty simple stuff. Took a nasty burn to the arm, though."
"The Aether Star is close," Terrence said, "This is the fortress that it has. I'm detecting hostiles, but I don't know what."
I looked out the netherbrick fence windows over to Fortress D, where James was still being held.
"We'll save you... I promise."

Two armored Wither Skeletons guarded the entrance of Fortress B, holding place of the Aether Star. Suddenly, two diamonds flew by. The one to the left nudged the one to the right, who then proceeded to pick up the diamonds.
Suddenly, a shadowy figure drop-kicked the one still guarding the entrance. A dagger was struck into its head, cracking it. The other one turned around, but did not react fast enough. The shadowy figure's quick movements were also extremely deadly.
The shadowy figure proceeded through the fortress, which was a labyrinth. Using a diamond pickaxe, the figure tore through the walls, knowing that the end would be straight across. However, this put all of the remaining guards on high alert.
10 Wither Skeletons scrambled into the room, but saw nothing. Suddenly, the shadowy figure came down from the ceiling, crushing most of the guards. She then made quick work of the rest. She went down the stairs to the holding chambers.
There it was. The Aether Star. Pure black with red energy glowing around it. The figure grabbed it. But pulling it away deactivated a hidden tripwire, causing the entire room to collapse. However, the thief had already left.
"Another successful heist," Violet said to herself, "I really am the world's greatest thief."
-------
Place: Fortress B Perspective: Wither
The Wither flew to Fortress B for his weekly inspection of the Aether Star's guards. But upon seeing only piles of bones when he arrived, he already knew what had happened. He'd have to use pigmen next time. The Wither went into the room where the Aether Star had been. Left behind was a piece of violet carpet
"Commus!" The Wither shouted. Commus, who had been trailing behind, approached the wither.
"What is it, sir?" Commus asked.
"Bring me the thief known as Violet," the Wither said.
"As you wish, sir. I'll have my men prepare the execution right away," Commus said.
"Execution?" the Wither said, "Are you crazy? No, I want to offer her a job. She'll be of use to us."
Nine:
One Down, One to Go
Place: Near the Nether Portal Perspective: Violet
Violet tossed the Aether Star in the air then caught it repeadetly as she walked towards the Nether Portal that led back to her secret bunker. It was close to Fortress B, luckily. However, it was so secret that no one knew about it. Suddenly, the celing collapsed in and four people fell in.
"How did you find me?" Violet asked.
"Well, we weren't looking for you," Luke said, "We were tracking down that little artifact you stole."
"Right," Violet said, "Like I'm just going to give it to you. Because of this, I'll be forever known as the world's greatest thief."
"That won't be long," Gary said, "The Wither has an all-out grudge with humanity and is probably preparing an invasion as we speak. If we don't act soon, there won't be a world to keep your record in."
"Like I'll believe you," Violet said, "But how about this? Clone-guy without the crazy eyepatch, you fight me. If you win, you get this. If I win, I keep it and you all get out of my sight forever."
"Deal," Luke said, drawing the Cosmic Blade. Violet took out her dagger. She jumped and climbed right over Luke, stabbing him with her dagger. His armor prevented her from doing any serious damage. Luke back-kicked and summoned down a meteor on Violet. Violet got up, badly injured.
"All right," Violet said, "You win. Fair and square. Goodbye."
Violet tossed over the Aether Star.
"Good riddance," Chris said, catching the Aether Star. With that, the people who broke in left. Violet then continued to go through her portal when it suddenly closed and two Wither Skeletons came in.
"We have strict orders from the Wither to take you into custody," one of them said, "You will not be harmed unless you refuse our Lord's offer."
"Offer?" Violet asked, "Tell me more."

Wither's Identity
Place: Fortress D Perspective: James
I felt horrible for Gary. He almost had the chance to save me, but he couldn't. I'd find some way to help. But there wasn't much to do in this boring holding cell. All I could do was gather intel for when Gary freed me. Hopefully everything I left behind would help them prepare to come back.
Then, finally, something interesting happened about 2 hours after the failed rescue. Two Wither Skeletons carried in a girl who looked somewhat familiar. Violet. I had dealt with her in the past. I was hoping she wouldn't get in the way. And now the Wither had her. This wouldn't end well.
"So what's this about an offer?" Violet asked.
"Yes..." the Wither said, "You managed to defeat my top-rank guards single-handedly. Your skills are incredible. Join my side and your reward shall be great."
"64 diamond blocks," Violet said, "I could probably steal anything less."
"Deal," the Wither said, "I will need you to do a special assassination job once someone I know finishes his ultimate weapon. In the meantime, I am gathering strength. In fact, I am seconds away from turning back into my human form. It's been years since the last time I've been able to do this."
"Now this I'd like to see," Violet said.
"And here it comes," the Wither said. Suddenly, its snakelike body turned into human legs wearing blue pants and grey shoes. Its extra heads turned into hands and its torso turned into a human torso with a cyan shirt.
"No..." I said aloud. Finally, the head came into true form. A humanoid head, but with cold, white, soulless eyes.
Herobrine.
Book Two Intro:
Flashback
Place: The Netherlord Shrines, Ten Years Ago Perspective: Third-Person
"Haha," Herobrine said, "The best all the people of your town could put together were mere boys."
"I still haven't forgot what you did to my brother," 13-year-old James said.
"I didn't kill him," Herobrine said, "Why are you so angry? Because you aren't the hero you always thought you were? Because when the moment of truth came, you couldn't protect Gary? Or is it because deep down inside, you're a scared little kid just like him?"
"You shut your mouth!" James shouted, charging at Herobrine, who teleported away. 11-year-old Luke grabbed his arm.
"I know how much Gary means to you," Luke said, "But if we're going to stop him, we're going to do it together. We're going to leave what happened before behind."
Herobrine reappeared behind the two. Luckily James heard it and jabbed his sword behind him, removing it knowing that it wouldn't kill Herobrine. Suddenly, a blast of dark energy hit James full force, knocking him into one of the inscriptions that told the "legend" of Herobrine.
"James!" Luke cried out, running over to James's body. James was still breathing, but he had been knocked out.
"What did you do to him?" Luke said.
"Oh, just imbued him with one of my special curses," Herobrine said, "He should be 'done' in about two minutes."
Luke, in rage, threw his sword. When it missed Herobrine, he laughed.
"You know how they say not to let your anger blind you?" Herobrine asked, "You may want to take their advice."
"I didn't miss," Luke said. Suddenly, the column Luke's sword had hit began to crumble and the remains crumbled onto Herobrine. Luke ran back over to James, who was just waking up.
"Am I an angel yet?" he asked groggily.
"You're hilarious," Luke said sarcastically, "Now get up. I think we won, but I'm not sticking around to find out."
Luke managed to try to help James up and the two began to run away as fast at they could when suddenly a wall of a strange black essence blocked them. They turned around to see Herobrine alive, but still being crushed by the ruins of the temple.
"I AM NOT DONE WITH YOU YET!" Herobrine shouted, but sounding pained. He perpared to fire another curse at them. But instead of shooting out of his hand, the dark energy just exploded all around him.
"We actually did it!" James said, "Well, you did it. Nice job out there even though I have no idea what you did."
The two walked away triumphantly. However, what they didn't know is that Herobrine had not died. At the last second, he had tried to save himself with a spell. However, it had backfired and turned him into the Wither, trapping his spirit in the Netherlord shrines. Later on, the Herobrine worshippers would make a statue on the Netherlord shrines, which Herobrine used to free himself. However, the people who created the statue would destroy the creature created.
Thus, people began to fight the Wither for fame and glory since it left behind the Nether Star, worthy proof that it had been slain. However, those who worshipped Herobrine did not realize that all along, they had been slaying their lord, who sought revenge.
Gary White:
After having a rough childhood, Gary took up a peaceful life of farming. He is quite an expert, harvesting nearly twice as much as the expert farmer. He is a decent fighter, using a diamond hoe as a scythe (CraftedMovie still hates him). He often uses his wits to take down his opponents. He currently lives in his brother's house.
Luke Carter:
Luke is an expert miner. He's not very good at fighting, but has great redstone ability, making it easy to set up traps. He is very good with redstone-powered transportation, too. He has known James White since they were kids and he currently lives in his house with Gary.
James White:
An expert fighter and scientist, James White tackles the Wither almost daily. James live with Gary and Luke for a few years until he was captured roughly six months ago. In case this were ever to happen, James set up a series of codes for James and Luke to follow in order to kill the Wither.
Terrence:
The Last Aethrite and a clone of Luke. He is a technical mastermind. As he is blind, he created a mechanical eyepiece so he could see. He fights with special matter-manipulating gloves to move the land around him.

By the Great Order of the Wither, you have been accepted! Oh shoot! Wouldn't that be a bad thing...? I is so confuzzled!
My praayers for a story including the Wither have been heard !
Yep. If you notice, the name has been released, yo!
I hast also changed the book Advanced Fighting Strategies to Items of Legend. So if in Chapter One you see a character pick up Items of Legend, you'll know what happened.
There is no order of the Wither. It must say : The order of The great Spirit of Decay, The Mind of Madness and stuff.
Ok, order of the Wither IS better. Ignore me.
Small note: my totally not made up research has showb that Withers appreciate true art very much. Gaving Wither as the worst rating is an insult TO ZE GREAT WITHER !

This character won't appear until Book Two, but play a very important role. But tanksverylot isn't in this realm, don't forget. This is in another world of Minecraft. However, I did throw in The Eye Project for a book.

Two:
Three:

Place: Terrence's Residence
Perspective: Gary

Setting: Fortress D
Perspective: Gary
I promise."
Place: Fortress B
Perspective: Violet
-------
Place: Fortress B
Perspective: Wither
Place: Near the Nether Portal
Perspective: Violet
Perspective: James
Herobrine.
Place: The Netherlord Shrines, Ten Years Ago
Perspective: Third-Person

TT2000, you are genius.
Oh shoot! Wouldn't that be a bad thing...? I is so confuzzled!
Yep. If you notice, the name has been released, yo!
I hast also changed the book Advanced Fighting Strategies to Items of Legend. So if in Chapter One you see a character pick up Items of Legend, you'll know what happened.
Also, Gary's age is around twenty, so Aliomundei is basically just a year older than Gary. Meanwhile, Luke and James are both around 24.
