My name is dekema2, Owner of FreshUniverse Gaming. I established our serve as a Factions server in February of this year after leaving my old server, Dodge Them All. I didn't start the server with the plan, I just started it with a dream of creating a successful server based on the servers I've ran or been staff on in the past, from 2011 to the present.
The problem is because I didn't have a plan everything started to move slowly, and even with a decent spawn, we didn't open until memorial Day, May 25 the highest amount of players we've ever had was 15, on opening day. After we opened, we did have some success, with returning players committing to donations, and I'm sure they would have. I was too nice about not taking their donations, but at the same time I felt we were serving an inferior product anyways, Factions that you can get practically anywhere and would probably be better than our server. We also made bad financial decisions; hosting a $9.99 USD plan for hosting with MCProHosting that k could get for $4.00 at GGServers, and running our XenForo website out of GoDaddy without ever getting any real traffic.
Months went on, I never exactly had time for a summer job because of volunteer work and working on our server. It wasn't until early this month that I had a revelation; serious changes needed to happen to our server if we didn't want to fail.
I set out on here and Planet Minecraft to look for the best admins, including a staff member from Hypixel who has become the heart and soul of our rebirth; artists, builders who were featured on the "pop reel" of PMC, and they all were interested in our rebirth plans.
What was most important to me however was knowing we needed custom plugins, so I went and looked for developers, including myself since I study computer science as my minor. They in turn brought along developers, and we are currently developing custom mini games that I know nobody would have thought of, and features I couldn't find myself. We are building a brand new hub spawn system to connect to our arenas, secret mini games, and more, and we're de-emphasizing the role that Factions once played for us: no role.
So why am I asking for investors when it seems that we have a plan in place after my first failure? Well, I'm asking because our staff has put full trust in me and everyone involved, and I'd hate to close when we are coming back to life, and plan to do so in a big way. I'm 18 now, I've had experience with these servers for years and would like to use it as a tool for me and our developers but also as just a cool place to be a part of for the average Minecrafter. If you'd like to help please either PM me or reply below.
