Man I remember the airship mod from the yogbox and loving it. It should go well with my skin, and gives me ideas for a faction/town. Eries are we allowed to have steampunky towns? And if so will they be allowed to be on floating islands, at least partially?
Was there anything you did not understand? I would say no, but to claim I know everything would be foolish right off the bat. I feel fairly confident that I won't be a troublemaker. Any loose ends I may have missed i'll be sure to correct as soon as I see them.

All our MODS are installed and working perfectly fine. Most of the work was just simply working with id s and such.
However the Bukkit side has had me banging my head these permissions and PEX stuff..
All my yml parser checks are perfect yet people still have issue with doing stuff in game so I'm guessing its either me putting in the wrong command lines while keeping to the right format? Or perhaps my plugins are just not working..
I have worked with and successfully modified / added ids within already set permissions before.
So I believe if I can get them done correctly I can see what I was doing wrong and able to keep it going if I need to add or modify in the future.
Anyway here is the General idea of Chaos I have been trying to work on.
This is not how I wrote the pex but just a quick example of what I am trying to do.
Main Pex groups - Share same inheritance.
Default - 1000 (Grey List)

Idea is to do this.
Everyone starts as default.
Once approved they get /pex promote username to member which allows them to play in the medieval age (Vanilla MC + Hops - tnt etc etc..)
Once a faction techs up we need a way to promote that factions users up to the next age.
If you can promote a group to another level it may be better to set up group ages and just make each faction their own custom group.
instead of having to promote each member up one at a time.
Would this be hard to do or take a lot of time to do?

I'm looking at roughly two weeks until the estimate time of launch and starting to get worried I'm not going to be able to make it.
I have to say, having been lurking around the forums for a solid few weeks, this has really caught my attention. Kind of has a civilization type feeling, one of my favorite games.
Name: Nicho Age: 16 IGN: nicho96 Do you have a Mic and can you use Teamspeak 3? I do have a mic, and I'm sure I could use Teamspeak quite easily after a quick google search. How well do you know PermissionsEX? Relatively well. I was a tech admin for an old RPG server that was shut down a few months ago, and had to take care of the permissions in the 20 + plugins that needed configuration during update times. As for the "preventing users from placing grass blocks", I would need to know the plugin that's being used to accomplish this or the permission node. I can assure you, however, that I can configure Permissions to your liking in a relatively short period of time.
I would like to add that I am also a plugin developer/experienced with Java in general, so I have a quite deep understanding of how Bukkit works.

Sounds like a cool idea, but won't it eventually be extremely hard for new settlements to start out, seeing that the other factions will have guns and planes while they have sticks and stones?
Yes, However Settlements are also the smallest and can only be attacked by other settlements. Townships and Cities are not allowed to legally attack them and must fight between themselves. Via the rules.
We can enforce this a few ways..
The RP approach:
You have the HAF (Havenwood Armed/Admin Force) which will act as a UN of sorts. If Larger Factions are picking on smaller ones we swoop in find out why and work out a way to calm the peace. If we can't seem to find a peaceful way we then take other actions.
By taking action it could mean Havenwood (Main Trade City) cutting trade ties with such faction until they stop their hostile attacks or push other nations to join the cause and help "convince" them that what they are doing is wrong.
Admins could take an out of game approach by increasing the amount of planned events to help the larger factions keep busy.
Honestly I would rather the server populace enforce the rules more than the admins to encourage a more "Real life" effect. You know "Judged by your Peers"
Let me try to explain this another way...
Factions plugin is here to ultimately protect smaller nations.
Larger Cities will eventually outgrow their faction size and be forced into becoming a Nation. That city then becomes a capital and is protected via World guard giving it protection from impromptu wars and or general grieffing. This frees them up to allow current members to branch off and form another city under that nations Banner. Once it is established it will act as a shield from one side when it comes to wars and gives them a reserve city to fall back to if the capital becomes under direct attack from the other side.
Basically if you lose your city you lose your faction. Which means Admins disband and you all are nomads searching for a new home or can rebuild your old city in a new location.
There really is no other End goal than to take over the entire map as one Nation or Formal Alliance. Which could signal another cataclysmic event / E.L.E (Server Map Wipe if the map is severely depleted of minerals). Then the goal would be to try and escape or survive and either start off with nothing, something or everything on the new map unless prevented then the server would just expand the world border...
Again it all comes down to the players and how they move the world into their own vision.

This server looks amazing. Just the whole rp and mod pack looks like it will make for an exciting minecraft server. Is there a good place to download a mod pack? Or is do we need to install it ourselves?

I am currently waiting to hear back from one of the Mod's Author to give us permissions for our mod pack. Once they say yes we can open the pack to the public. As it is now we are keeping it private while we work and gather all the permissions.
Plus while this is happening we are also setting up our own permissions to try and ensure a smooth start.
Just wondering. Since it takes more members to level up to the next tech would it be possible for two settlements to combine together and be an alliance to get to the modern age? Or instead of 25 players the settlement looks far enough advanced(high tech buildings that are realistic) or making it that you have to build certain buildings to advance to the next level.
