The cards under the spell and trap card zone in the second image is your hand, I presume
What is that thing between your deck and the anvil in your inventory? Is it something special? Cause it doesn't look like anything that is normally found in vanilla minecraft
Light blue is the fusion deck zone, at least by GX rules but everything else you said is correct! The item in my inventory is a garbage can. I don't know if it's ever been seen in item form but I showed pictures of it on page 132 (albeit with an old texture). The secret is still out there for you to find! There are technically two secrets in these sets of pictures! One is a new feature while the other is more of something that I am playing with using things already in minecraft.
Congratulations Riotman you've gotten the secrets! The first secret is that we now have duel mats and not just duel tables and the second (smaller) one is that I messed around with some designs for dueling zones. The idea is that each player has a trunk they can access in between duels along with a duel mat in between. It's not perfect but it's something I was messing around with. Along with those two changes, trunks and other smaller than a block blocks now have better hitboxes so you can punch through them (better for the builders).
All of this before I even looked at the pictures! You guys are fast, looks like I've gotta step up my game. So Chug, with duel mats, will each duelist have access to their own personal mat that they can place down anywhere and duel someone with? Although I think it would be harder to limit duel mat placing to houses and hangouts (the places with duel tables), it would definitely make the server more organized. Now for a question: why would you want both players to be able to access their trunks in between duels? The only reason I could think of is for switching decks, but I thought that people could already carry around their deck trunks with them and access them anywhere.
I think all of the duel mats will be the same; I meant that one person would put down a mat and the other would join them by clicking on that same mat. Although, as I understand it, each player will have customizable colors.
Just an update: I'm still here and looking at the thread for any ideas to give. Unfortunately. I've been low on time because of junior year.
Pictures are looking great, especially the trunk visuals! We're almost there!
Exactly!!! **** Junior Year! lol
Question code wise chug, how do you program the entire deck into one object? Does it just have multiple sub classes or how does that work?
i don't think syncs and xyz, and now the new Pend summon are so complicated, in fact, these are easier to use than fusion summon, cause you don't need a card or an eff to do so, so i think they would deserve a place in this server, anyway, that's your decision, not mine, but having syncs, xyz and pendulum would make the game have more variability, obviously don't make the meta easy to get, in fact, make it extremely hard to get, either due to rarity to find, or ridiculously high amount of money to get 1 of these cards, so more original decks can stand a chance, like Dragunities, Dark World, or X-Saber, but meta like Burning Abyss, Kozmo, Qliphort, etc
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Don't worry, i won't harm you, if you don't harm me or try to steal my treasures
Syncs, xyz, and all other new cards MAY be added in the future but for now they will not be in the server. My feeling is that they make the older cards obsolete rather and so rather than adding to the amount of cool cards we have it instead just replaces other cards. Either way they may be added if everyone wants them but that will come later.
If you wouldn't mind explaining your question about the decks a little bit more jpes I could probably answer it better. Overall though the key to good object oriented programming is to use objects, use them well, but don't overuse them, especially inheritance. Currently I use an object that can store any amount of cards and use special methods to create the specific containers I need (makeDeck(), makeTrunk(), makeHand(), etc...). After server release I may put up the source code excluding the cards up for download. The cards would be excluded in case there were flaws in my implementation of their effects and someone found an exploit (doubtful due to the simplicity of individual effects but it could happen).
Good to see you back commander and don't worry about being late to the party person you were pretty fast on the first secret I put up ;)!
As for placing duel mats, the original idea I had when I put them in was to make it so that there was just some more variety in what you can duel on (mats, tables, etc) but the idea of giving people a mat they could place in special duel zones would be interesting. I will have to consider that! As for why there are trunks at the duel station I made, this is because while you always have your trunk on you in the sense that it is part of your character, you only have access to it through the trunk block (think like an enderchest which is where I got the idea from). Now both trunk blocks and dueling mats/tables will be common so there wont be a big worry about accessing your trunk or finding a place to duel but having the player be able to place down their own blocks (1 of each so its imperative you collect yours back and don't just leave it lying around) could be interesting.
Wow, I just checked this thread out of happenstance. Sorry I have not been active for so long, I thought the project had died. I am very happy to see that you have continued development Chugwig. Now I am going to read through the twenty or so pages I have missed.
True, don't worry about it too much! Chug did say he was busy, and that it would take a while to reach a point where he would be able to give us a good progress update. Just gotta be patient at this point.
thanks
Edit:
So;
Yellow = Main Deck Zone
Light Blue = Extra Deck Zone
Light Green = Field Zone
Gray = Graveyard
Red & White = Monster Card Zones
Blue = Spell and Trap Card Zones
The cards under the spell and trap card zone in the second image is your hand, I presume

Well, I got the chair from earlier pages. Hm...
First picture, the hell is that briefcase?
item right of anvil?
odd that you have glowstone in your inventory next to the chair (far right, left of chair). Unless you needed that glowstone for light
Edit:
Wait, in the first pic, there's an obvious briefcase, then to the left is the duel mat, but what's to the left of the duel mat?

This Looks Amazing. Cant wait for it to be finished. when this is uploaded you will be seeing me on the server for sure:D:D:lol:
I'm really just amazed at how you coded all of this. Was there a certain website you used to teach yourself Java?
Hey Chug, will you update the design of the Dueling GUI? For me, it's a bit hard on the eyes due to the vibrant colors.
what happened to all the chat in this thread
I don't know. I hope Chug is still working on this
I really really really doubt that Chug quit without telling us again, so don't worry!
I agree with commander if you ask me there just isn't much to talk about in this late stage of development.
