We are thrilled to announce this revision of our recruitment campaign for Monarch Network. With many improvements under and above the cover, we invite you to take a look at this forum thread and consider applying to join the team!
In the exordium to this revision of our recruitment campaign, we took necessary steps to improve the quality of experiences to guarantee the development of Monarch Network will resume favourably:
Recruitment
Updated sections of our recruitment processes to both streamline and introduce an abridged recruitment program where suitable
Composed an individualised welcome document for new recruits to hasten the introduction period
Reviewed currently open roles and positions at TBK and took the time to improve and add descriptions
Allocated an additional budget for advertising to let the recruitment campaign approach more people
Team Culture
Introduced ice-breaker meetings to encourage socialisation between team members and adhere to our determined team culture
Commit to routine check-ups on team members to ensure everyone is staying informed and allow any concerns to be raised
Administratory
Clarified TBK's future goals and ambitions in relation to becoming a non-profit organisation endeavoured to push the grace of institutions behind creative expression and its integrity in youth
Introduced means for team members to announce their commitment schedules in hopes to stimulate the work of other team members
Devised a point-based task assignment system to support team members who want to decide what and how much they would like to contribute

.
The Butterfly Kingdom is looking to further appoint the studio with relevant volunteering team members for a Minecraft server project, previously codenamed Project M. The project will be fully funded for a determined term, during which foundations of a Minecraft server for a Discord community will be made.
TBK is in the process of registering as a non-profit organisation in the UK. You may read our newest, yet incomplete, description of who we are here:
The Butterfly Kingdom is an internationally recognised (soon registered) non-profit organisation endeavoured to push the grace of institutions behind creative expression and its integrity in youth.
Alongside the mission to build a platform with a selection of projects and schemes to excite, educate and inspire young, up-and-coming creators, The Butterfly Kingdom offers support to individuals interested to work creatively; and sustains a safe, operational and serviceable means of communication on a text and voice chat application called Discord.
Formed by the weight of various projects, The Butterfly Kingdom is a community strengthened on values highlighting the importance of fairness, support, respect and belonging amidst a common goal for a creative-centred approach in education systems around the world.
To put simply, we are here to provide a platform of creative works to entertain, educate and excite young aspiring creators and individuals of our community from around the world.
This document will be renewed soon because it's outdated.
Context:
Throughout the initial experimentation with an exclusive Minecraft server for a Discord community, we quickly found that it's rather time-consuming. We were unable to accommodate a continuous update schedule, which rendered the scheme as stagnant. Now, with clear foundations of what the studio is looking to create, a lead project director and a project coordinator, we are looking for talented and helpful individuals to join the team and guide the project forward!
About the project:
Part of several production schemes by The Butterfly Kingdom, Monarch Network is a forthcoming Minecraft server network starring entirely custom Kingdoms: an RPG dungeon-centric gamemode, which highlights its emphasis on questing, player economy as well as multiplayer instances to bring people together.
Itβs developed by a passionate team through community input and positive trends in the MMORPG genre, The Kingdoms is going to feature a compelling storyline, player individualisation, pet system and action-packed combat with a focal point on multiplayer instances that encourage players to work together in a balanced and enjoyable approach.
It's a Minecraft server made specifically for a Discord community - and not the other way round. You can read the released conspectus that outlines the project in a general sense found below.
This document will be renewed soon because it's outdated.
Progress:
Since we are starting intentionally from an absolute scratch, there is plenty to do! However, as the conspectus outlines, there are many positions and roles to break down the tasks and ensure there are no overwhelming amounts of work set just for one individual. Here are the most notable or recently completed tasks:
Designed a brand identity for Monarch Network
Improved staff application and recruitment processes
Please join the Discord server for further opportunities or information. A full list of positions can be found here: π https://airtable.com/shrkpNsd2ZnXaCMdd If you're unsure, but still hope to help, pick "Other" when choosing the position you're applying for in the application form. You can also choose multiple positions!
We are urgently seeking a secondary
Project Director of Monarch Network
Because of the influx of work pressure, we decided to open a complimentary position to alleviate some of that demand of time and ensure the project stays a passion project and not a job for the primary project director. The two directors will share responsibilities and cooperative effectively. We expect reasonable collaboration and understanding of opposing beliefs and grounded attitudes about the project. It's important to clarify,"secondary" does not mean less important.
An excellent opportunity to become the head of the most ambitious Minecraft server project within a community-driven, fast-paced and friendly environment.
Participate in daily operations at TBK and run an impressive Minecraft server network starring a custom MMORPG, dungeon-centric gamemode.
As a Project Director at Monarch Network at TBK, you will:

Develop a timeline for the completion of milestones
Collate and prepare work plans and agendas referring to the coming phases of the project while listening to your teams' input
Mentor and motivate your teams to achieve productivity and engagement
Oversee the selection and training of qualified program teams, assigning clear roles and responsibilities, providing effective supervision, and managing performance to ensure efficient operations
Report on operational performance and suggest improvements
Implement efficient processes and standards
Make presentations to investors, partners and organisation executives concerning different phases of a project
Some experience required.
Self-driven and motivated, with an ability to show initiative in all situations and the ability to take responsibility for actions
Calm under pressure
Ability to write technical reports and program documents, and deliver presentations
Must strive for professionalism, including a general act of confidentially β this role may deal with highly sensitive information
IT literacy across a variety of tools, including GSuite
Excellent literacy
Being mindful of costs and being alert to making the best use of budgetary resources
Excellent verbal communication
Ability to challenge and see beyond current state β spot opportunity for process improvement and act upon these observations
Be well versed at communicating with members of staff from all levels and areas of the organisation
How to apply:
Requirements
Able to contribute at least three hours a week to TBK
Being an MMORPG and Minecraft fan
Interest for bringing change around the world and wearing many hats
Fluent in English

We have paused payments for our server hosting services in the wake of developmental halts to concentrate our efforts in designating crucial, specialised team members.
Answered a frequently asked question: I dislike applications. Can I be interviewed instead?
We have seen many people join and immediately leave the Discord server. With the recent comment highlighting our intermediate disregard on the professionalism shown in the forum thread and the Discord server, we decided to firmly focus our next week's efforts to bring the standards to expectations you come to expect. Together with our newly designated projects coordinator, we'll endeavour to make your Discord experience enjoyable!
Added Discord Administrator position to available roles. You can apply as a Discord administrator and help us maintain the special integrity of our Discord server in terms of presentation and optimisation.
Refreshed certain descriptions of roles, which may have lowered the required criteria for some. We invite you to take a look at the available positions again and apply using the link provided in the original post of this thread!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Will I get paid for my work?
Currently, no. All positions are listed as volunteer roles. With this said, ultimately, we want to compensate for our staff in the near future. We have measures in place to ensure working at TBK does not become a job but a passion project and a compliment to your spare time.
Q. Will I get paid for my work after Monarch Network releases?
TBK is a young organisation based on several projects. We'll be publishing other schemes in an exordium to Monarch Network's release, which should render the community as finally public. And while we will still operate as a free platform, we remain hopeful of donations sent through programmes like Patreon. Because of TBK's benefit of a diverse catalogue of projects, some team members may be paid prior to the network releasing.
Q. How is Monarch Network going to be funded?
The Monarch team is looking to experiment with a no pay-to-win business model for "The Kingdoms" (working title for a gamemode) serviced by cosmetic and convenience items. View our funding policy here: π https://link.thebutterflykingdom.net/funding
Q. Are there any projects previously released?
Currently, there are no projects released. Nonetheless, our community is already around 100 members!
Q. How long will it take for my application to be considered or not? It may range from 3 - 14 days depending on the volume of applications. Any delays will be reported directly to you through Discord.
Q. I've been rejected in the past, can I reapply? Yes. Your previous entry will be considered and may bear no influence over your newer application. Please wait at least a couple of weeks before applying once again.
Q. Will I be notified if my application is rejected?
Yes. We will try to contact you through Discord using the username you provided. However, if a member of our team is unable to send you a direct message (this may be because you do not share a Discord server with them), there won't be further attempts. If your application was successful, a member of our team will add you as a friend on Discord.
Q. How do I withdraw my application?
You can contact a member of our recruitment branch or LACON#9136 directly on Discord with a request to withdraw your application. Note: To have the information you submitted in your application deleted from our database, you must explicitly mention you want to do this. As per our policy, the information you willingly presented in your application will be discarded as we finalise our review to comply with data protection. We store your information for up to three months - and then destroy it permanently.
Q. Do you record the interviews?
Yes. Our interviews are recorded for training and monitoring purposes to ensure the safety of you and our team. This notice will be explicitly given to you at the beginning of an interview. We do not tolerate mischief or abuse.
Q. I dislike applications. Can I be interviewed instead?
No. Unfortunately, this is not feasible: Interviews take time for preparation, execution and training. For efficiency, we only interview potential candidates. To give yourself the best chance to get interviewed, we recommend you apply for less than three positions, use correct formatting including punctuation, spelling and grammar and stay cooperative and patient as we ask for further information.
I can be a youtuber and a staff member, I used to build and run my own servers, so i pretty much know how do everything. Plus I'm bored and I wanna build a server with someone lol, I love messing with plugins and configuring stuff.

Admins should know what the plugins are and how to properly use most staff commands and basic things like world edit on some servers admins have access to the console and make sure the server is running when the Owner is not on the server or if the owner is having issues with the game and he cannot access console. Admins also should know most staff and know how to be leaders in their staff team and also know how to be relaxed and calm in stressful situations too give a good example to the player community and to the staff team. looks quite interesting, though I would like to make some critical comments:
1. Don't overdo it. It seems like you've done 10 months of planning and brainstorming to come up with a fairly basic sounding rpg-kind server.
2. As of some 'roles' I'm curious as to what they even do. 'Environmental concept artist', 'Character concept artist', etc. It sounds like you're creating a whole new game, when in reality you're manipulating an already existing game to do what you want it to do.
3. Realise that if you want some of these roles filled, and them being fully focussed on your project & you want high quality without them copying other plugins you have to be prepared to pay for it. Especially in the state the community is right now.
4. A quick count tells me staff only should be around 40 people, that's way too much for a relatively simple 1 gamemode server. Again, don't overcomplicate things.
5. Honestly it looks like you're already suffering from things some companies suffer from, having too much management and too little people who execute. I read about a full on presentation on ideas with core staff, while brainstorming is great, once again don't overdo it.
6. And just in general, I can appreciate the work that has been going into the project, but 10 months to come up with a concept for a server is just way too long & I suggest you find ways to speed up the process since that sounds crazy.
7. Get your priorities on point. All you seem to have been doing is recruiting, while you didn't even pick a server host yet, from what I read. (also it's not just about the location of the host & ping. Look for upgrade path, cpu performance do you wanna have dedicated or VPS or fully prepared MC server etc)
8. Just get things done. At this point I'm not even involved and already a little annoyed by how bureacratic everything looks.
Sorry for the rant, lemme know if you need a hand with anything, I'd be very happy to help since I know how hard getting a RPG server going can be. (Please read up on MC server performace optimization before creation since that's hard with the heavy plugins you're likely gonna use.)
