As i watch you guys arguing about Prices and ways of making money i wonder is this why everyone left killion, the constant arguing on the forums and the swearing in the game, i know you put the Swear stopper in game but what is that doing to people,to stop people whining i understand that but people like to swear every once in a while, i see Wardens swear every so often and i wonder if they can do it why can't we?I have been playing here since January 2012 and my career and have seen Killion evolve and change over the course of my time playing here and i have loved every single bit of it.When i started and first got free people said "Sheep farm" to get easy money but now they say "Mob farm" and sometimes even "Wheat or cactus farming".Times have change but everyone should accept the fact that the prices won't change unless people give a good damn reason to change the prices of Wool which i doubt they will then it won't change.People need to accept change and not look back on the past, the future is where our path lies.

In-game Name: Scbrakel Who were you banned by? N/A When were you banned?(DateandApprox time,use-5GMT) 05/10/2013 7:30 What was the ban reason? X-Ray? Do you admit fault? Yes What was your current rank (Block)?: A Why should you be unbanned? I Was Not excessively using X-ray and I Have played on many other friends accounts and I have LOVED this server. On this account I have made Good friends, Allys, Memorys. I am So very sorry this happened and please do not let this effect my Love of Evolution gaming and Killion. Any other information: I WAS banned on my old account,CaptainKirke (got muted from launching a firework 10,9,8,etc. After muted Got mad and banned), could not convince you/them to unban me so, I bought another account just to play on my favorite server: Killion. Once I Finally get going on the server again And start having a Blast, I get mad at how long this is taking and start gambling. After losing all my money I talk to my friend on Skype and he tells me of this "hack called Nodus and tells me it has X-ray. I reply saying I've heard of this. So he tells me he has used it on his account on killion and got Free, I am Exited by this so he walks me through it and I join the server realizing I should not abuse this power So, I don't but I end Up getting banned. I have uninstalled It and Am hoping you will accept my Application
Thanks you Very much for Taking your Valuable Time to read this.
ive been reading about this debate about prices and mob farming and such. none of that matters. i ask all who feel against this debate and those who fee for it, to remember what minecraft is about. it was never foucsed on the swords or ways to gain a profit. Minecraft has always been about placing blocks and seeing the beauty in a newly rendered world. Its about building works of art not about the farms or mob drops.
we can all hang together, or we will certainly all hang separately.

And again, people have said this about Killion plenty of times in the past. And here we are today.
I completely trust that Mark and Starzy know how to run this server. They've run it just fine for what will be 2 years in 18 days. As much as you may think you know what will happen, you don't. Also your skewed percentages hold no weight. Each server is different, comparing everyone else to Killion isn't accurate nor a reasonable argument.
AP world history has taught me stuff \o/
On many occasions i have thought about how similar killion is to early societies in and before the classical era. Well its time to talk about it.
MooLa = the Mongolians
killion = the Egyptian empire
Starzy + Gold + Skynub = Pharaohs
Pump/wool economy = Bronze products BEFORE the discovery of iron
Mob drops = Iron
Mob spawners = Chariots
Towns = Early Mesopotamia just after the birth of agriculture in the fertile crescent (the middle east)
Explanation time \o/
MooLa = Mongolians
They spread a new era of violence and destruction, leading to the spreading of ideas (pvping new grief methods etc.) and conquering many civilizations. In real life, violence isnt a bad thing, but on killion, it was an era of large scale pvp, and LOADS of fun.
Killion = egyptian empire
The egyptian empire was, as most people know, an extremely successful civilization. They built large scale monuments to their gods, they had the largest economy of their time, they had (during the "new kingdom") the most powerful military around, and no one saw and end to this magnificent civilization. Killion is going this same rout, and its on its way to being conquered by Alexander the great. The wardens say "oh yeah this has happened many times, and we are still here" yet eventually killion wont pick itself up and keep walking forward. The Babylonians in Mesopotamia said the same thing, and who were the conquered by? oh yeah the persians (who went on and conquered Egyptian but later)
Starzy + Gold + Skynub = Pharaohs
I understand you guys are staff, i understand you are semi responsible for this server, but you guys honestly act like you are gods among us. Pharaohs were "gods in training" so to speak. Their people believed them to be gods, and there for followed their command. This was similar to China's "mandate of heaven" saying that the ruler had the god given right to rule. The Pharaohs didnt consider themselves average citizens, and were honored by their people as full time gods after they died. The people respected their leaders due to them being gods. The wardens on killion gain a good deal of their respect from players from the fear players have of getting banned. The average age of people on killion is very low, because the older kids that play on the server arent as submissive and dont have quite as much respect for the rules. Being really, really disrespectful to a player warrants a mute, or even a permanent mute, but saying even the tiniest insult to a warden = permanent ban. The Pharaohs of ancient Egypt were rarely seen by the public (equivalent to /v) and could induce themselves into any element of a persons life. (such as banning someone for a skype status -.-)
Pump/wool economy = Bronze products BEFORE the discovery of iron
There were two things needed for bronze; tin and copper. Tin deposits and Copper deposits were never close to eachother, making bronze an item for only the elite of society. For pumpkins, you had to get the pumpkins, then interact with other people and trade to get the wood for jackolanterns. Wool farms were not easy to make, and you had to have the space to make them, then you had to import sheep from somewhere, then you had to breed them. (Also you had to have the fps to walk around in a sheep farm q.q)
Mob drops = Iron
Mob Drops brought a new face to the economy, such as iron brought a new face to all technologies for agriculture and war alike. Mob drops sell the best out of anything that has ever been available to sell to the server, and are easy to obtain, and are fast to obtain, along with not as very much space needed to mass produce them. When iron was first discovered, People noticed that it was stronger then Bronze, lasted longer, easier to obtain since it was a pure substance (Fe \o/), and much easier to built with and shape.
Mob spawners = Chariots
Chariots revolutionized warfare. Whoever had chariots, won the battles, and conquered everyone else (OP AS HELL) Whoever has mob spawners can easily get rich, get all the tools and equipment they need, and can do all of that relatively easy. Mob spawners are more powerful then bronze products. With mob spawners you get xp AND you get rich, whereas with bronze products you only get rich. Chariots led the Hittites to conquer the ever powerful Egyptian empire, who were then absorbed into Egyptian society, and then the Egyptians used Chariots to kick the Hittites out of Egypt, and then turn into an extremely powerful military state, allowing them to spread into the Middle east. With mob spawners, you can get easy p4 armor with whatever sword you want, and quick repairs, and go do what you want in the prison and to other bases. A base griefed with 10-15 stacks of obby can be cleaned quite quickly using some eff 4 pics, which can be quickly obtained with mob spawners.
Towns = Early Mesopotamia just after the birth of agriculture in the fertile crescent (the middle east)
Up until the birth of agriculture, food was a valuable resource, and gathering food absorbed all of peoples time. When Mesopotamian societies offered a place with lots of food available, people swarmed there. Large amounts of extra food in the Meso cities led to specialization of labor etc. Towns are similar in regards to the fact that they give people an easy way to get food aka money. New free's SWARM to towns with spanwers, along with other easy ways to make money. (germania was a PERFECT example of this) Since there are easy access spawners for new frees, they are noobs and dont understand the market, and therefore sell enchanted things at low prices, ruining the market for everyone else, all because they have an easy way to make money and enchanted items.
Spend a good amout of time wiriting this, Nothing in here is directed at anyone other then the wardens, but im doing my best to not be offensive in anyway.
This is a prison server, not a creative building server.
yes it is but what about the free world it dosn't take a long time to get though prison and ive heard it stated that once you out is just like a survival server which brings us back to creation
Based on theeggroll's post, I have come up with which Pharaohs we best represent.
Mark: Khafre - 2nd largest temple, Sphinx was modeled after him.
Starzy: Cleopatra - Strong ruler, loved by everyone.
Me: Tut - He was like 12 and according to legend, I am also 12.
Kdog: Cat - Cats were worshiped and stuff. Also punny because her name is dog. get it?!!?! Gold: He's Canadian. Doesn't get to be a Pharaoh. Beans: Akhenaten - Couldn't have kids.
-------------
On a serious note, I think we should all just look towards the future. The past is the past, and there will be new and exciting things to look forward to.
Actually, Akhenaten could have kids. It's just that many believed him to be deformed due to the inbreeding in the royal family at the time. This thought process is because of the large belly and womanly bosom he is often depicted as having. There are actual recorded reliefs of him and his queen Nefertiti playing with their daughters. This stylized form of art though, was left after his death and Egypt was returned to polytheism and stylized art forms.
On topic, Killion Detention Center is seriously one of the greatest servers I've ever played on :> Also, I love being a pharaoh on the server. I'mma find a pharaoh skin.
well I don't even know what to say....... this is the only server that has proven trustworthy not to turn to crap and die, I do 1 thing stupid and get perm banned I fill out a ban appeal and guess what it gets denied. I am realy ed right now :(. I loved this server so much I played for hours a day in my already busy weeks. and now I cant play on it. hell I loved it so much I was going to apply for guard the day I got banned but I hit the wrong key my X-Ray turned on and I was banned in 5 sec. I have deleted the client I used and still want to play on this server. if you guy's could ever reconsider my appeal it would be great. but right now I am so diapointed in myself for the stupid client I am about to flip out. I am getting surgery and will be down for a cuple day's and I have no good servers to play on.
thanks killion
if you can ever unban me ( because I don't donate to any servers) please do.

Interesting, however I like to consider myself more like our great leader and savior, Kim Jong Un, the only known man whos touch can cure cancer.
-snip- If you had more then one farm of one type you'd still be making tons of money.
Examples:
Sheep farm - 640 a stack
Wheat farm - 960 a stack Mob drops - 1060 a stack
Pumpkins - 320 a stack
Cocoa beans - 320 a stack
Chicken/feathers - 960 a stack
Cactus - 320 a stack
-snip- If you all would take the effort to make more then one farm you would make just as much money as you want as if it were wool and pumpkins being buffed up to the thousands again.
-snip-
Some people fail to realize that hostile mob spawners are a premium perk. It's highly unlikely that they would be nerfed. Also, their convenience (size efficiency) could arguably be a part of the package as well.
I believe Mark & Starzy have noted the effects of a "Pay2Win" system, and have adjusted accordingly.
To compensate, alternative methods of making money were introduced, thus allowing "normal" players to still have a fairly high net income compared to that of mob grinding. As for convenience, yes, "normal" players have a harder time than those who have hostile mob spawners, but they aren't terribly far behind.
For example, recall the differences between going through Prestige as a Premium player versus as a "normal" player. Accomplishing Prestige is still a perfectly achievable goal, though somewhat harder and time-consuming. (Especially without a stamped weapon)
Side note: If you refer to the towny guide on the EG forums, notice that there are only pumpkin and sheep farm size limits. Other farms are free game. (I may be mistaken here but you get the point)
Real funny how mob drops are obviously a monopoly no? And all ways of making money without buying items from the premium shop
First off; if you want me to take you seriously, don't insult my Wardens. If you want me to take you seriously, have a mind and argument of your own; not one that is practically copy/pasted every single time the economy is brought up.
I'm tired of having this argument every other month. We have responded to it numerous and countless times.
Yes, mob drops give you more money. Yes, it's slightly easier to farm mob drops. Why? Because spawners are a premium feature. We aren't going to have people pay money and then do more work with less benefit. What sense would that make?
HOWEVER. There are many options for people who do not purchase spawners. I've said this so many damn times; you can farm more than one thing at a time. You don't only need to choose one way of making money. But instead of figuring that out, you'll continue to complain and act pompous. (That's directed at more people than just you.)
You are not listenting to me when I tell you a year ago you had 250+ players on the server at all times, and since then the number has slowly diminished, and from what I have seen you average anywhere from 80-100 players on at all times right now.
We've also discussed this many times.
Every time summer ends and school starts back up, people go "OMG KILLION U DYIN LOL YOU ONLY HAS 100 PPLS", Since when is having 100 people on your Minecraft server a failure? Since when is that not a GREAT thing?
Yes, we did used to have 250 players, Some of them moved on, some of them are back in school and can't devote as much time anymore, and some of them got banned. But honestly? I'd rather have less population than have a population full of hateful, ungrateful trolls. People who did nothing but try to manipulate the server in every possible way. Those who glitched, exploited, hacked or anything else negative. So you can keep bringing up the fact we've banned a lot of people, and I'll keep saying "good riddance"
So you can keep bringing up the fact we've banned a lot of people, and I'll keep saying "good riddance"
Lol starzy...you say good riddance to people like me? This server is where I met every single one of the online friends I have today. I was loved here! I was not banned because you were enforcing the rules, I was banned because you thought I was one of the hateful, ungrateful trolls. I wasn't ungrateful, I was just unhappy with all my friends being banned. It made me sad. I don't stalk this thread it's just still in my favorites and it's the only thing gaming-wise I actually enjoyed and played CONSTANTLY. I was a great part of the community, or so I thought. There was PVP there was farming there was crazy, #1 on minestatus, Killion which was constantly full. I miss everything about this server and honestly if you could please stop running like a business and more like a fun adventure (I definetly remember you having a bunch of fun on mumble in the past) I'm sure a lot of your old crazy players would come back and honestly I'd pay that 55$ unban thing you sent me a year ago when you banned me.
I don't really see the point of "you can't have fun with mob spawners." That's not true. You can have fun doing anything you want. I made my closest friend, LuisAdeur, by joining his clan and helping him build FALL's mob farm. I made so many friends in FALL with a MOB SPAWNER. Cassie60, Adrimay1, LuisAdeur, Sted, Kierand, Vingord. All people that I WONT forget because of the clan I was in. I honestly, honestly, believe that a lot of this is just nostalgia. Your friends you make now won't be the same friends you had 6 months ago. That's a fact. But that's not because you don't have pumpkin farms that make you 1k per stack or sheep farms that give you 2k per stack. That's not the reason. The reason is because you only live in the past.
As a graphic designer, one my jobs is to stay on current trends and ride the wave of popular style. Killion is the same thing, in order to be successful, you gotta stay on that wave. You may not like that mob farms are the best way to make money, but mob farms also cost a premium. There are still pumpkin, wheat, and sheep farms. If you view them as "inefficient" then why not just farm your pumpkins while your sheep are regrowing their wool, and farm your wheat while the pumpkins are regrowing. You don't need to have one massive pumpkin farm.
I don't see why "this server is dying" and "we need more ways to make money" are even in the same realm of discussion. You can have fun doing anything. Absolutely anything. Some people seem to forget there's a massive 5000 radius free world out there, ready to be explored! The most fun I ever had was mining out a huge slime farm on one of the only swamp biomes in the game with my bud LuisAdeur.
Regarding the argument on pstones, it seems some of you are forgetting this whole land called "Euphoria" that allows you have to massive plots that you can mine all the way down to bedrock. You can make disgustingly huge wheat farms there. And you know what, it's already auto-protected. You don't need a single pstone.
Every time summer ends and school starts back up, people go "OMG KILLION U DYIN LOL YOU ONLY HAS 100 PPLS", Since when is having 100 people on your Minecraft server a failure? Since when is that not a GREAT thing?

First off, not sure if the first part of your post was directed towards me as well, however in no place did I insult you or any other warden, nor do I plan too. I never said it was bad to have 100 players on a server, in fact that is great for you and I am happy to know the server I once played is still alive today. The only thing I am trying to say is around a year ago when I played this server, there was at no point less than 250 players online all day every day. Most of these people were not toxic, they did not glitch, exploit, hack, or be negative. However you will always have a portion of the community that is like that, and if I or any of my clan mates brought something like that to the server I truly apologize, because just a year ago we were all kids and we did not know any better. I'd like you to trust me when I say me and my clan have really recently matured when it comes to these things, in fact we have made great friends with our enemies and learned to have friendly rivalries and not bash each other like we used to. I guess the only thing I am trying to say by all of this is that, if you go from 250 players to 100 players you must be doing something wrong, and when I mentioned banning players off I didn't think of that as one of the stronger points in my post, because truly it wasn't. The thing is, I personally believe the old killion was far more enjoyable than this new one. I did not necessarily agree with some decisions made especially ones like killion co., but the thing that really set me off is not allowing Frees to use /clan home. I don't know why it bothered me so much for me to make these kinds of posts, because I no longer play here. Nonetheless, I just really believe that if you change how things work just slightly, and maybe get rid of a few things that have been asked by the community for what it seems like ages now, it would benefit the server so much. People are no longer given an independent feeling when they get free, they are only thinking about which town to join, or what clan to apply for, and when I ventured off and made my own clan and rose to the top with my closest friends, it was by far the most enjoyable thing I have ever experienced on a minecraft server, and I want other players to be able to experience that as well.
Your friends you make now won't be the same friends you had 6 months ago. That's a fact.
The economy thing is so back and forth, seeing as it clearly won't be changing there is no need to argue no matter how much the community begs and pleads for a change. Anyway, this statement above is simply not true, I met my friend Jarzy, Indy, Teke, bman, sardine, mooch, and dundi atleast a year ago, and since then we have become more than friends, I would consider our clan more of a family now, we have grown together and we would never think for a second about leaving each other, and that is what friendship is about, if you only have a friend for 6 months he is not a true friend. This is why the server needs to be free again like it used to be. Think of all the big name clans you sitll hear of today, from what I've been told mine is one of them, and each one of those clans was made because they wanted to make a change, they wanted to be the best, they did not get to free and think about what town to join, or what clan to apply to. They said SCREW EM, and made their own legacy. This is why you have this viewpoint, that in 6 months you won't even remember the friend you used to have, because you joined this server at a time where all of this started happening, and I guarantee you that you have not even experienced what it is like to be at the top and to know that you inspire other people to do what you did, and all I have to say about that is I am sorry, because you have not experienced killion in a way 250 constant players a day used too.

[Brass] Trident Clan Owner on Killion Detention Center http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/724932-the-free-software-list-updt-04112013/

On topic, Killion Detention Center is seriously one of the greatest servers I've ever played on :> Also, I love being a pharaoh on the server. I'mma find a pharaoh skin.
thanks killion
if you can ever unban me ( because I don't donate to any servers) please do.

Interesting, however I like to consider myself more like our great leader and savior, Kim Jong Un, the only known man whos touch can cure cancer.
Nice forum spam EpicLegacy xD [4900th page! \o/]
