I have a question about Guard Kits. I would also prefer that this be answered honestly, and why it should/has been considered before.
Why don't Guard Kits give random not-too-OP-enchants on the sword?

Right, so I am a Convicted Guard, obviously, with almost no access to good enchants. It is true that I have a Free alt, so why should I be even posting this? Because of the way Frees get their overpowered enchantments. I am no parkour master. I have never beaten Tunnel Quest before. I am not a donor, so I have never played Siberian Quest before. I play almost exclusively on my Guard account when I play on Convicted. People will rarely see me on my Free account. Because I play a lot more on my Guard account, money is veyr tight for me, so I am usually too broke to buy any.
So I do not have easy access to enchants. The only ways that I can get them is from *rarely* killing a Free, or from other Guards that take pity upon me. Because of this, I am usually defenseless against a Free with all-enchanted-stuff, while I only have my diamond sword.
Back to my suggestion. Guard Kits could be randomized, and give either one select enchant, or just randomly pick one. There could be a filter on the enchant that it chooses. Such a filter could prevent Sharp 8 and Fire 2 swords from being given out. This filter could also prevent Bane of Arthropod swords from being given out as well.
I am aware that such a functionality could be easily abused, which is why this privilege would be given to full Guards only. Guards should be at least somewhat trusted, as they made it through the Trainee phase. However, this would not prevent total abuse. Guards caught abusing this new /kit guard would be automatically perma-banned. Abuse would include: Repeatedly using /kit guard to get the perfect enchantment, storing the enchants in the virtual bank or any other bank chest, and giving the spawned swords to their alternate account/friend/random prisoner.
I understand if this is rejected for being too risky, but Guards should be at least somewhat trusted, and this would help out the Guards who do not have easy access to overpowered enchantments. Thank you for any consideration, and let me know what you guys think!
Edit: Also, to any Frees that would complain about Guards becoming way too overpowered and instantly ragequit, you really don't need that Prot IV Sharp VII Fire II Knockback V combination, do you? Guards are not meant to be target practice, dummies to see how much damage your new sword/bow does. (Believe it or not, I have seen somebody request this once.) We are to protect the prisoners from themselves, and you. Killing Guards may not be as easy as it was in the old days, but it can still be too easy.

7) Why are you the best choice for guard?: As a huge fan of convicted I would love people to keep coming back and playing again. So as a guard doing my job would be keeping the server and players safe and making the atmosphere a nice and enjoyable place. What makes me the best of the best is my passion for this server. As a player I try to help others as much as possible. I feel that becoming a guard will grant me to be able to help the server and the players even more! As a guard I will always follow the rules and help players to the very highest of my ability I would like to also keep the server enjoyable by keeping it fair. By fair I mean no revenge killing and no killing people for no reason. Keeping the server community safe and enjoyable is my top priorty. I have also owned a server before so I know the sure signs of hacking and could spot an x-rayer in flash. I know how to deal with people who will not follow the rules. When I say deal with them I don't mean INSTA-BAN I mean I know how to talk to them to calm them down when there in the raging mood. Please consider me a Guard, I will not let you down!
8) What is your current rank? Do you understand that we will require PROOF of your rank when/if you retire from guard?:I am the rank of B block and I do understand that if I was retired from Guard I would need proof of my rank.

Very interesting point but we can't have enchated swords floating around the prisoners. I think this would give guards an advantage wich is good. I have suggested this to Viper before and it came up as a no but you have a small chance of this idea coming true in the prison. Good luck either way --- LRR, Tom

Like you said, the idea is touchy especially with the possibility of abuse. Maybe it could be reserved for a higher rank? Because it's not that hard to get full guard :/

also one more thing about my most recent ban app. I DID post a screeny right after i was banned of my jar. At that time my MC was open on the ban screen so there was no way i could have deleted or force updated. I have more proof than froot considering I have disproved one of his witnesses and rando could have been lagging or something idk. I just know I was not hacking.
So I was playing 1.4.2 and I learned that when your using a invisi pot you can see all armor and things in the hand so i think we should implement them. Now anvils are very costly to make and I'm pretty sure they break so implementing them in the sense it doesn't last forever is ok but being able to repair enchants isn't a great thing for guards but it is for frees so idk what to think about anvils maybe we should try them out see how it goes.
The anvils maybe costly, but Frees can easly get EXP from SQ and TQ, they can get their crappy swords and mix them up until it becomes a Sharp V, Knock II, Fire II, Looting III Sword, I've tried this and its insane. Also with Bows and they can keep reparing their OP Swords and Armor, This would make the Frees more OP than ever before, The invisability potions hides the name tag, Alphas and Wardens will have trouble to see who is the X-rayer is, and even tho they can be seen with armor and holding items, they can go in without armor and hide the sword per each time they strike, and people would try to make lies about that wasen't them attacking.
Those are the main reasons why the Anvil and invisablity potions are getting black listed. I saw its a good idea that both are getting black listed, would make Frees less OP, and stopping X-rayers from using the pots and people wanting to mass troll the guards with invisa pots.

No no no and no guards do not need a boost they are fine how they are we dont want to up set the balance we dont want another insta-eat problem again were ever guard is to OP and sucks the fun out of PvP but really guys guards are fine as it is I dont know if you know this but guards only had iron armor and diamond sword and I could kill 1 guard with a stone sword with no armor if he sucked at PvP there is no need for a buff to guards. the highest enchant you can get is a sharp 4 not many frees have higher then that the people who got the real op swords is SDA (not even so sure about) Benje, Aldron, Wez and a few more and they are all guards so please look at the guards before you judge the frees

Yep, we need the invisibility pots and the anvils banned. We don't want people trolling us guards

My guts say that carrotts is innocent, dunno why, but it would help if there was a bit more evidence :3
Builder that is a excellent Idea but i think it could be abused a bit
maybe add voting for Guards gives you a Sharp II sword
Or make a Guard XP quest where you Pay Money to go in and if you play to Much you Get banned from it
Or maybe just a simple Mob farm,
Or Make XP bottles Cheaper.
These are many ways to make Guards Get XP But all can be abused
Voting: Guards could try to use a glitch where you can vote earlier than 24 hours (Happens to me alot Sometimes i can vote in the next 30min) not sure how to do it thought there are glitches that can let you vote twice
XP Quest: This can be abused as Guards dont die as fast in lava and can buy speed pots from Guard shop plus guards might do it too Often Plus Some Guards Who are Rich like Redrum (if he rejoins) can pay the money but what about the poor Guards they Cant pay enough as well
Mob Farm: This can be abused with the splash Heal Pots as they Hurt Undead Creatures (Zombies PigZombie Skeles) while Harm pots heal them i believe so guards will be doing /kit potion alot more plus with the OP armor you last alot longer
Cheap XP bottles: Guards will Buy them really cheap and sell them to prisoners who then can enchant Stuff and get OP gear or maybe They would Just buy tons and save it for the next update (if they change enchantments again)

When the bukkit version for 1.4.2 comes out, which was estimated to be around 2 weeks. Yeah, this server is definitely worth playing, but idk if you're really in-need, only if you're really bored and have no favorite server right now you could downgrade, but the wait isn't that long :/

Isn't that a generalization though? Not all frees are donors, and not all frees are capable of completing TQ and/or SQ. Of course, they can just pay people that are good at SQ/TQ to repair or combine for them, but not all frees are rich as well.
I would love to repair my good pick and axes so I can keep mining, rather than fork over thousands of BP for a new one.

I see the problems with it but as Galuzer said renaming items is very cool and it super costly to repair items so I think the anvil could be tested the invisi pot I understand the issues with not seeing xrayers so that shouldn't be implemented.
Guards don't need to be more op I was a former guard and I held my own against frees guards I want to say if you work together stay with a partner you will have a easier time. You don't need more op I'm not a good parkour person so I earn my xp through mob farm it takes a long time to do that just to lose it to some op guard free is supposed to have advantages. You are no longer target practice we can't one hit kill you any more admittedly trainee armor blows so we can 1 hit them at times.
I have a report to file. TyToTo2 decided to dupe iron and went into c and filled a guys inventory. Also, he held an "Event" where he gave me 500k for picking the number 32, which pecyboy took. I dont want to get caught in the middle of this so i am posting this report with good intentions. thank you #takeaction

That is totally not true I started guard with just a sharp 2 witch I got from exp events. When I left guard I had some mix and match prot 4's and some prot 3's and I was in Guard with not alot of money maybe 10k if I can come out of guard with a Sharp 4 fire 2 without even enchanting it I know for a fact Guards can get really good enchants there is a cycle you know Free makes enchants -----> Free dies with enchants------> Guard gets enchant----------> Guard dies----------> Free get enchant Guards can get sword very easy from frees with riots tthats how I got my sharp 4

I am the best choice for guard as I am a fairly good PvPer, I also have a lot of enchanted swords that I can use to aid me in guarding. I will certainly not back away from fights and will guard to my fullest potential. I also have quite an unique timezone so I am able to guard when there are very little guards online. I also understand the rules very well, not just the written rules, but the rules that have not been stated, but should be known.
I am also very kind and helpful, I will not hesitate to show a new prisoner around, and explain to him how a prison server works. Many times, I see a newcomer and he/she usually gets killed by others and after getting killed a few times, they start to hate the server and begin spamming, resulting in themselves being banned from the server once an alpha or warden gets online. I wish to change this by helping to keep the Cs safe and allow them to work their way up the ranks in peace, without disruption from others.
I hope I will be accepted as guard and will do my best to help enforce the rules on the server, and also try to make it more enjoyable for others. I will not abuse my power as a guard and use it solely for doing my job.

Not exactly, we are supposed to wait for 1.4.2, but we are supposed to wait for the essential plugins that make up convicted as well. Some plugin makers like the creaters of Pex or factions are quick updaters, but some take a long time. Maybe about 1-4 weeks until 1.4

Agreed. Maybe guards could get a Sharp I - II diamond sword? Convicted guard kits shouldn't have too OP swords or too weak swords
My guts say that carrotts is innocent, dunno why, but it would help if there was a bit more evidence :3
maybe add voting for Guards gives you a Sharp II sword
Or make a Guard XP quest where you Pay Money to go in and if you play to Much you Get banned from it
Or maybe just a simple Mob farm,
Or Make XP bottles Cheaper.
These are many ways to make Guards Get XP But all can be abused
Voting: Guards could try to use a glitch where you can vote earlier than 24 hours (Happens to me alot Sometimes i can vote in the next 30min) not sure how to do it thought there are glitches that can let you vote twice
XP Quest: This can be abused as Guards dont die as fast in lava and can buy speed pots from Guard shop plus guards might do it too Often Plus Some Guards Who are Rich like Redrum (if he rejoins) can pay the money but what about the poor Guards they Cant pay enough as well
Mob Farm: This can be abused with the splash Heal Pots as they Hurt Undead Creatures (Zombies PigZombie Skeles) while Harm pots heal them i believe so guards will be doing /kit potion alot more plus with the OP armor you last alot longer
Cheap XP bottles: Guards will Buy them really cheap and sell them to prisoners who then can enchant Stuff and get OP gear or maybe They would Just buy tons and save it for the next update (if they change enchantments again)
See there are many Ways all ideas can be abused,

When the bukkit version for 1.4.2 comes out, which was estimated to be around 2 weeks. Yeah, this server is definitely worth playing, but idk if you're really in-need, only if you're really bored and have no favorite server right now you could downgrade, but the wait isn't that long :/

Isn't that a generalization though? Not all frees are donors, and not all frees are capable of completing TQ and/or SQ. Of course, they can just pay people that are good at SQ/TQ to repair or combine for them, but not all frees are rich as well.
I would love to repair my good pick and axes so I can keep mining, rather than fork over thousands of BP for a new one.

That is totally not true I started guard with just a sharp 2 witch I got from exp events. When I left guard I had some mix and match prot 4's and some prot 3's and I was in Guard with not alot of money maybe 10k if I can come out of guard with a Sharp 4 fire 2 without even enchanting it I know for a fact Guards can get really good enchants there is a cycle you know Free makes enchants -----> Free dies with enchants------> Guard gets enchant----------> Guard dies----------> Free get enchant Guards can get sword very easy from frees with riots tthats how I got my sharp 4

5) Any experience with the prison genre? I have been playing this server for a very long time and I believe I understand fully how these types of prison work.

7) Why are you the best choice for guard?
I am the best choice for guard as I am a fairly good PvPer, I also have a lot of enchanted swords that I can use to aid me in guarding. I will certainly not back away from fights and will guard to my fullest potential. I also have quite an unique timezone so I am able to guard when there are very little guards online. I also understand the rules very well, not just the written rules, but the rules that have not been stated, but should be known.
I am also very kind and helpful, I will not hesitate to show a new prisoner around, and explain to him how a prison server works. Many times, I see a newcomer and he/she usually gets killed by others and after getting killed a few times, they start to hate the server and begin spamming, resulting in themselves being banned from the server once an alpha or warden gets online. I wish to change this by helping to keep the Cs safe and allow them to work their way up the ranks in peace, without disruption from others.
I hope I will be accepted as guard and will do my best to help enforce the rules on the server, and also try to make it more enjoyable for others. I will not abuse my power as a guard and use it solely for doing my job.
8) What is your current rank? Do you understand that we will require PROOF of your rank when/if you retire from guard? I am currently a C prisoner.
