Orcram and me have been doing many test runs on my own pc. It was the first time I used Bukkit as server mod. The plugins we testet (Essentials and Permissions) worked very good. Essentials added a lot of fun and useful commands (including /home, /sethome and /rules) and permissions allowed us add user groups with different permissions to commands. The groups we used were Default Moderator and Admin. All the test were very positive, so as soon as I can install Bukkit on the dedicated location, it shall be done. It will make the server a even better place to be! :-)
"Alchemist of Terror" dead By A. Mazing
Yesterday, Merlin brought Bavoria good news. The crazed Alchemist who lived off-shore, has been assassinated by the Assassin Bratari. The crazed Alchemist named Ubernox was once working in the Off-Site Mine. More recently, he retreated on the coast in the Broken Sea. There he appeared to have very dark plans in mind. Merlin's first try to stop him failed, but now victory is assured. Bratari: "I sliced my sword through his head! It was awesome! Like a large knife slicing through cake, I saw the blood dripping like strawberry sauce and..." (Our interviewer then lost consciousness...) Currently, his body is being researched by Merlin and a recently appeared magician, Makar.
Faraway in ruins, New Faraway has risen By U. Nimportant
Faraway Town is in ruins! Quite a while ago, the Orcs invaded the far away town without warning. The town got burned down and was besieged. It is unknown if any there were any victims. Currently, the leader of the town has retreated a little more in the hills to create a new fort for His Royal Highness. The fort is supposed to be the center of New Faraway. The Ruins of Faraway are now deserted.
Strange signs appeared in town By N. Leezer
Very recently, strange signs have appeared around town. It appeard that they came shortly after the death of Alchemist Ubernox, who was killed by Bratari the assassin. A sign on Merlin's house show "I hate you", while the "For sale" sign on Ubernox' old house has disappeared and replaced by "...". A new grave also appeared in the graveyard. Citizens now try to avoid walking past the graveyard. Merlin told us not to panic: "We are investigating this mystery as we speak."
Subway slowly rebuilt By P. A. Perflash
The Subway is going well! Currently, the route Sorvius-Small Austria is already complete and the route Sorvius-Romanus is under construction. The new system (Subway System V3.0), allows the passenger to step in the cart without the risk of it passing by on high speed. Frostbreath: "The cart only goes to the next station when a passenger is in. Also, after arrival, you can easily leave the cart. It will only return to the queue without a passenger. The whole system is slowdown-proof!"

Hello people! Good news! I asked the server host if they could install Bukkit for me, and they can! It is very likely that our server will run Bukkit at Saturday. Currently, I am awaiting response from the host when they installed it for me. I have 5 plugins I want to install on our server:
1. Essentials. This plugin adds a lot of useful commands, including /sethome, /home and /spawn.
2. Permissions. This plugin allows me to set specific permissions for each player/group to use certain commands. E.g. Default players won't be allowed to spawn mobs or ban others.
3. NPC mod. This plugin allows us to add real NPC's to Bavoria! It will make the world a much more lively place. However, only Admins and Moderators are allowed to place NPC's!
4. Repair. This plugin allows you, against a bargain price, to repair your tools and armor. Very useful!
5. Travel between servers. Well, this is gonna be used for......... hehehe.......

Having this plugin doesn't mean I will allow traveling between servers who are of someone else. It is used for RP purpose. That's all I'm gonna say...

Yeah, the Essentials plugin allows admins and moderators to create warp points. Regular players will not be allowed to do this.
UPDATE about Bukkit: I currently don't have it yet, still awaiting response. Let's hope it is available before tomorrow evening, because I need to test run it first.
About the "Did you know..." section in here, you can really send in gossips to me! Just come up with some fun fatcs (or lies) about a character in-game and PM it to me! Who knows it will be in the next Newsflash!

Unstable Peace Agreement reached with Orcs Nothing on paper yet By His Royal Highness, King Sorvius Forzen
The hostilities between the Orcs and us humans have reduced a little. Last week, I took the oppertunity to visit the Orc Encampment in the O'Sheran Desert. There we discussed the fact why we had these hostilities. After quite a negotiation we made an agreement. I'd like to use this article to inform everyone in Bavoria about the peace agreement:
1. Nothing is on paper yet. The Orcs are currently talking with their leader (Warchief in their language) about the matter.
2. As promised to the Orcs, we DO NOT COME NEAR THEM ANYMORE. They won't come near us as well during the unofficial agreement.
3. Stable peace doesn't mean we can migrate to Orc towns and vice versa. We will keep living apart from each other, but no longer with the anger in our heads.

Great makeover for the Sorvius Bakery By U. Nimportant
Yesterday, the Bakery finally finished it's great makeover! The building has upgraded to a place where citizens can buy cake, bread and other wheat products. A nice large window has been added, showing fresh pies and cakes. You'll almost guaranteed get hungry when you walk past! The new Bakery in all it's glory!

Ah, yes... dear sla... I mean citizens of Bavoria. I, the great Prince Morvan, have arranged an exlusive interview with Frostbreath. He is one of the major characters in the Subway Project, which had many troubles recently. It is finally fixed. In this interview he shall give us a brief explanation of the old and new system, with pro's and cons. Tell me: what was so bad about the old system?
"The old system was named Subway System V1.0. It was great, but it lacked some features." And those features were...?
"Well, first of all, when you called a Cart... you needed high reflections. The Cart which was called by a passenger raced past, so the passenger had to react quick to get in it. The second bad thing about it was that Carts disappeared when they were on the Ready rail. Third thing was that the system took a LOT of space." Were there any good things about it?
"Yes! The water resevoir was a very useful system to queue Carts." So it didn't work out?
"No. We decided to use a completely different system, Subway System V2.0. But that one didn't work at all. The Cart queue system just didn't work there. It wasn't a resevoir system, but a stack-on-each-other system. They didn't stack on each other, but in each other... So when you called a Cart, they all came out." And after that?
"We had a genious idea! We combined V1.0 and 2.0's good things and created our own Subway System V3.0! It uses the 1.0 queue system, and the rest is from 2.0! Now Carts no longer disappear, and you can easily get into a Cart, as it waits for you until you're in. When you arrive, it also waits until you're out!" A very nice system! Of course, this all didn't happen if I wasn't around, am I right?

I can login to minecraft just fine, but when I try to join the server it just says either "End of Stream" Or something about 503 server not found or something...
Caused by minecraft.net... Now I wish it was the server, so I might've fixed it.
Bukkit got installed, but it doesn't work at all. The server doesn't seem to recognize the bukkit files and plugins. The only thing it did is deleting our whitelist. Gonna try to fix it tomorrow.
Topic:
- I completely changed the OP. It now shows the full background story of our server.
- Characters list has been removed and won't return until it has been revamped.
- The video's are now below the storyline
- More story (from creation until current state) will be added later.
Server:
- Bukkit does not work at all. We will have to wait until the official installation is available.
