How long have you played on Basic Craft? I have been a member for two months
Initial impression: Really good small server with a tight community of regular members. Not too many plugins.
Pros of Basic Craft:
Fun welcoming community of players
Texas (owner) is very easy going and freindly
The map is still quite fresh
No Creepers! No blast craters all over the map!
Still a small server, you get to know your fellow players!
Good website and support (like dynmap)
Cons of Basic Craft:
New membership is putting a strain on the server (lag is becoming an issue)
Actually thats all I can think of!
What is your favorite part of BC? I really like the close community. Because most of the members are donators, we really feel like a part of the server. Some of us donated a little, some a lot. But no matter who donated what, we share a respect and ownership of the server. Its really great. Don't get me wrong, donation is encouraged, but not mandatory. As long as you are friendly and respectful, you will have a great time on Basic Craft!
Suggestions to make Basic Craft better? The only thing I can think of to make the server better is to get the lag issue sorted out. That might require the owner to upgrade his equipment or buy a better hosting provider. None of that comes cheap, but if he wants to be able to grow the server for more members, he'll have to upgrade. No two ways about it.
Final Thoughts? If you are a mature player, are looking for a smaller server, and want to feel like your membership matters, join Basic Craft!
Cleaned the server files and made some changes lag should subside a little bit but I do plan on upgrading when the server fees come due, I did not expect the server to gain as much popularity as it has but I'll make sure to keep checking in until the problem gets solved
I've been on Basic Craft for two months--since 3/28/14. I am an admin now, and learning the ropes.
Initial Impression?
Basic Craft is awesome and so friendly. I haven't been playing MC all that long, but did a little server browsing and found this to be a really simple, fun server. When you arrive, you'll TP to a little safe house area. People will be friendly and normal. There's a dynamic map: http://198.143.140.182:8311/# to help you pick your new home, and lots of space available.
There is not an enormous, elaborate, yet total ghost-town fantasy-spawn and lots of spam in the comments. Those servers tend to leave me wandering around wondering, where is everyone? Who are these guys? How do I get out of here and play? It's not like that at Basic Craft. Here, spawn is a little launch point for tons of fun with friendly players. There is a lot of cooperation on builds and projects, people are helpful and informative and really happy to check out each other's work. I ask a lot of questions and probably chat too much, and everyone's really sweet about it!
The plugins are just right--you get on and play. There are already some amazing builds and projects to check out, and, although we explore a lot, there is still a lot of unexplored map, and lots and lots of space. The nether portal system is well developed, so if you want to live out in the boonies, you can get back close-in pretty quickly for visits. There are lots of new players, and some who have been playing for years, so anyone could feel at home here, I think.
Pros of BC
The owner is a regular player, and responsive. The players are friendly and fun--very nice, smart, bunch. Also, no creepers! Oh, and it's fun to get on TeamSpeak for a community excursion, or boss fight, too.
Cons of BC
It's a little laggy, probably because everyone is building amazing stuff and playing hard, though this is continually addressed and improved.
What is your favorite part of BC?
The players and just playing Minecraft!

About you: I like gaming and spend some time on minecraft
Skills: Good at small but smooth Buildings and good at redstone
Why you want to join: It looks fun and my friends are on there too
What version of Minecraft is Basic Craft using (meaning you might have to downgrade client) You are using 1.7.9
Do you have RL skills you can provide for the server?: Nooooooooooo...
(Made from jag_heter curse user but its my friend)
This is borderline here. I struggled with this one, we have rejected some applications because the individual was an early teen and their answers were very short. Since you have a reference, and jag is a member I'll let it slide. 20/20 hindsight and all, maybe put some more effort into why you wanted to join.
Welcome to BC! Let us know if you need anything in game.
About you:I love Minecraft.I can proudly say Im a ''Geek''.I love the sport Cricket.I live in the Uk.I love creativity.I like to travel.Im friendly and nice .Also I like Mini-Games
Skills:One of my best skills is my building.I love to build.Often I give feedback about how to improve others builds.Im a good explorer and explore a lot in to other biomes.Im good at caving but dont enjoy it that much, its still a little fun! though!Im good at PVP and PVE
Why you want to join:It looks like the perfect server for me.The community seems great and the staff seem very nice.I want to play Minecraft Vannila and just enjoy it.I want to be part of the community and help other players
What version of Minecraft is Basic Craft using (meaning you might have to downgrade client)1.7.9
Do you have RL skills you can provide for the server?:(ex. photoshop, plugin creation)Unfortantly no
Nice application; thorough, a little touch of personality and you complimented the staff. I can be bribed with bacon too.
Being a mature server, we respect one another's stuff and treat each other like family. You seem like you'd be able to handle that, even being a younger teen.
Welcome to Basic Craft, if you need something, let us know in game or the website.
About you: I played Minecraft a long time ago with some friends of mine but the server became crowded with random people and filled with random plugins that required more time troubleshooting and restarting our server than actually playing on it. It turned me off from Minecraft for quite some time. I just started getting back into watching some of the Mindcrack guys on YouTube again and it made Minecraft look interesting again. Playing the game alone only gets you so much enjoyment.
Skills: I've always been on the creative side. I went to school for film and love all forms of art. Obviously, this game gives an outlet for that more than most. I'm a bit rusty as I haven't played Minecraft in quite some time (over a year) but I always enjoyed building and exploring. I would rather play with a group and work on something bigger than be alone in my corner. Pretty much everything but redstone.
Why you want to join: I've bounced around my fair share of MMOs and other games to get my "fix" of a multiplayer experience, but minecraft is always a good one for it. There are a lot of areas of the game to occupy yourself with. Building, exploring, blowing stuff up, etc. And I don't want to come off as rude or anything, and without sounding like a bitter old man, but every other server I look at has too many people that are young teens. This one looks more my age. I understand the pull of this game to the younger audiences, but I'm turning 23 this year and don't seem to have a lot to talk about to middle-schoolers. However, I'm not going to just ignore people or treat them differently because of an age difference. I was there once, I know how it feels.I just want to kick back and hang out with people my own age (mostly) and play some Minecraft. I'm not a hardcore Minecraft player or anything, but I've been looking for the right thing to get myself back into this game again for a while. A server with a community that is a little bit older might just help me with that.
What version of Minecraft is Basic Craft using (meaning you might have to downgrade client): Updated to 1.7.9
Do you have RL skills you can provide for the server?:(ex. photoshop, plugin creation): I have experience with things like photshop, illustrator, and video editing. Going to school for film required that I take courses in all of it. No coding though, I leave that to the technical people
About you: I have been playing minecraft for years but i recently took a break from the game and now that i am out of school im trying to get back into the game
Skills: Im well rounded which means im not great at a certain thing but i have at least a basic knowledge of most things and i am a quick learner.
Why you want to join: The main reason i want to join is because i am looking for a relax server to hang out and not be bothered with other snotty and obnoxious players
What version of Minecraft is Basic Craft using: The server and my client are on the same version.
Do you have RL skills you can provide for the server?: Not much to be honest. i have a wacom tablet but not much experience with it and i cant also use Photoshop and get plug ins but nothing to special

You're a perfect match for Basic Craft. I am very much with you about playing MC with a mature cast of people. At the same time, the younger players we have accepted have all been just fine. We are of course diligent about keeping away griefers, and if a situation ever arose with a player, regardless of the age, the staff will quickly deal with it.
Welcome to Basic Craft, I'll add you to the whitelist in next few minutes. Be sure to visit our website as well to get familiar with what we have going on.

How long have you played on BC? Only played one day so far
Initial Impression? Pretty cool, laid back people. Only met about 3 of them since it was late at night but it was fun.
Pros of BC: So far, a small and relaxed community. Just what I'm looking for.
Cons of BC: None yet, since I haven't met everybody and played too much on the server.
What is your favorite part of BC? The map is still new so there is a lot of room for builds. I hope to be getting some group things together in the future once I get a base set up for myself.
Suggestions on how to make BC better: Nothing as of right now.
