Hello Zworby,
No one's come to kick this back to you yet, so I'll just get it out of the way.
Not sure if this is still up but might as well try
1) What is your Minecraft username (or "IGN")?:
Chisk_Soul
2) Please explain why you would like to join the Server.
To be honest this will be my first Gulliver server i really want to try it i love the idea of it. Hehe i really cant think of much but just to say i would help out as much as could as i learned and would never treat anyone badly. Ive also watched the videos so many times hehe... Well and also lastly there isn't many servers out there.
3) Please explain how your
talents, skills, experience, personality traits, and aspirations can
help contribute positively to our server.
I am loving and kind and love to befriend everyone as long as they are kind. I have some talents and i learn fast. im not good at parkour or .. building... (friends say im good at building when im focused) I can get mad if i get irritated alot but if i keep my cool which is always but i wanted you to at least know that im not always chill...
4) Please list five random facts about yourself that can help differentiate you from other players.
• I Cook Amazingly IRL
•I have a boyfriend which i love to death.

3) My talents can help contribute to this server by helping other players feel welcomed and have a good time. (Yes, I know I will probably be the newest person for a while, but I hope to welcome newer players as they come! I am also very nice (so I've been told).
4) Some random facts about me:
I am a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and I have been participating in it for about five years.
I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!! (Even though I haven't watched it lately..)
I enjoy drawing and practicing calligraphy (basically, fancy writing with a special pen or marker).
I love math! (Everyone else hates my math teacher..)
I'm also about the only one in my class who actually likes the new computer teacher. Even one of my friends who usually likes everyone doesn't like her!
5) "You have the right to post on said forum" (I think that's what it said. Last time I opened it, it opened in the tab that I was doing my application in, and I was scared because I thought it deleted what I wrote. Now I'm a little scared to open it for too long XD)
6) Cheese (Eats all of it) XP
Thanks! Another fact about me: I have an average words per minute in typing of about 54.
Thanks again!
WAIT ONE MORE THING
I may not be able to join super often because of school and my dad not wanting me on screens for too long, but I promise that if this application is accepted I will join as much as I can.
Wait.. Quick question!!
Does the Gulliver mod have to be installed before I can join? If so, I am having a few issues with that, so I will try to figure it out asap. Thank you!!
The words per minute was supposed to be 54, not 5 XD. I changed it.
Hello. Poking out of retirement to post this... ^^
[also, the whitelist application has been updated thusly...]
UPDATE 5/27/2017: Please note that discussions are currently underway to retire the Gulliver aspect of the Big Sister Server earlier than anticipated, and to replace this with a cutting-edge Vanilla server. This means that whitelist applications for the Gulliver server will be discontinued soon and a new whitelist server will be created to accommodate the Vanilla server.
Stay tuned for more information in the coming month!
Okay, this doesn't have to do with applying for the whitelist, but for getting the right version of gullivers to use the server (gulliver forged)
So, I followed the instructions in the dropbox page you provided, COMPLETELY. But when I click "Play," the actual game never launches. It's not for any of the reasons I saw on your dropbox page. It just never opens, as if I didn't open the minecraft launcher in the first place. Help?
EDIT: Oh, nevermind. if the server is discontinued, I might not need to deal with all this stuff anyway, rip.

I'm a bit confused. Will the actual Gulliver server still exist??
Edit: Please don't discontinue it D:
I have been looking to join this server for a while, I have just never had the nerve to apply until recently D:
Hello. To address both of your concerns...
- Yes, Gulliver is getting harder and harder for a lot of our players or would-be players to install with the ever-increasing changes to the launcher -- and as I don't play Gulliver much anymore or own Windows, I can't really update this document to keep up to date. This, in combination with the fact that the server was targeted to be retired anyway in January 2018, pretty much prompted the decision to retire it early in favour of a more up-to-date server that could take better advantage of the hardware we're paying for.
- The Big Sister server will drop Gulliver completely, possibly some time in July 2017 (though the new owners have to confirm that). However, we will have the original map file available so a few people have expressed interest in mirroring the server on their own machines to recreate the Big Sister Gulliver server experience, with their own specific spin on it and whitelist. Obviously this isn't going to happen until it happens so take this news with a grain of salt, but if all you want is to play with Gulliver than this opens up potential options for you.
Well the server isn't closing per se, but it will be switching to a Vanilla model, so for all intents and purposes the Gulliver aspect will be gone soon. This may be a problem for people looking exclusively for Gulliver; but for those who grew up with our server and enjoyed pouring their talent into their creations, this is a great way to keep their creations alive and well for a few years longer. [so to answer your other question, the map will live on, albeit with Minecraft 1.12 features added to it going forward]
LB could always have a Gulliver instance, but bear in mind that interest in the mod has waned in recent years, and it's far more likely that the players would vote for some crazy Magic mod or Pokemon mod over another Gulliver flavour. The last Gulliver flavour done on LB was nearly two years ago, and it was met with a collective yawn. ^^;
I don't control any of the trailers hosted on Youtube, so my guess is that they will stay up there forever for historical purposes.
I've stopped tracking other servers that host the Gulliver mod... it's possible that new ones have sprung up, or at least will spring up once we make our Big Sister Gulliver map available for download. Some of our die-hard Gulliver fan players have expressed interest in hosting the old BS map on their own home-based servers, though I won't speculate on whether they'll actually do it.
And as for other similar Gulliver mods... As Princess Peach noted, the Antman mod offers somewhat similar functionality to Gulliver, and may have improved since we saw it last. I've always thought that the Morph Mod offered a good foundation for camera resizing... when pairing with a mod such as Mo Creatures, your viewpoint could "shrink" when you morph into a mouse or roach, or expand when morphing into an ogre or wyvern. The Twilight Forest mod has giants and giant items, and these take on the appearance of the player... when paired with the Moprh Mod it can offer some surreal comparisons to being a Gulliver 8x. Custom NPCs allows you to create giant or tiny versions of NPC characters... the maximum size of a giant CustomNPC is comparable to a Gulliver 6x, while the tiniest size is comparable to a Gulliver 1/6x. Lastly, I heard the Witchery has some shrinking capabilities, but that might be against enemies and not yourself.
This is as far as I know or have heard -- there may be other new mods out there that may offer similar functionality, but as I haven't really been doing a whole lot of Minecrafting these days, I've simply lost touch. As with most things in life, it all comes down to your own personal research. ^^
Oh good, it's always nice to see people who are proactive, especially when it comes to hosting legacy servers! Yes, when the new vanilla server is ready, the original 1.6.4 Gulliver server map will be archived and available for download for those who still wish to recreate the original Big Sister Gulliver Server experience. There's also a lot of interesting structures and cities that the original architects will probably want to archive for themselves. When this happens there will be quite a lot of fanfare (including the locking down of this thread), so you will know when it happens even if I forget to tell you (but I will certainly try). Just be sure to download around 5-6GB worth, it's quite a big file even when archived.
As for your second question -- what I've heard from the new server owners is that the new BS server will be whitelisted, but it will be replacing the original strict whitelist with one that's a lot easier to fill out. This will be hosted on a brand new thread both here on the MC forum, and on the official Big Sister forum, so all new updates and such will be handled from there.
Feel free to post more questions regarding this, I enjoy answering them. ^^
To be honest, I mainly want to try and find Gulliver servers since this mod is pretty underrated, which is why I said nevermind on my edit of my original comment.
It would be cool if I would be able to play on it, whether it's whitelisted or not. But, as I stated in my original comment, I'm still having some issues getting the Gulliver Forged profile to function properly, such as actually opening the game itself..
Yeah, thanks to all the latest changes to the Launcher, a lot of my players have been having lots of difficulties installing Gulliver, hence why it's been a big issue with new whitelistees. Personally I haven't had much of a problem at all since I'm using an older Linux launcher and it never really changes, but then I think I've only logged onto Minecraft perhaps only once in the last three months, so I'm hardly representative. XD
Anyway, I do agree that home-based servers aren't great, which is why I was willing to pay to circumvent all that insanity these past three years. ^^
Technically no, Gulliver doesn't work with either Bukkit or Spigot, so we have operated Gulliver without any kind of server plugins common elsewhere. We do make use of Forge Essentials, however, but that's more of an elaborate mod and the 1.6.4 version is somewhat incomplete. We relied heavily on Tarig's help (Tarig of Little Blocks fame) to help code out some of the incomplete features, and most of his work was never pushed upstream so it never became part of the FE 1.6.4 official releases. I believe you can still find the 1.6.4 version available for download somewhere, but documentation is going to be very spotty as all the original wikis got replaced with the newer release info. To save yourself the headache, it might be better to just stick with vanilla Gulliver for now.
Sorry, I'm not aware of this Bad Login error thing -- whenever we would have a Bad Login message on my server, players would just log out of their launcher, log back in, and it would work. If this is an issue specific to 1.6.4, it would explain why topics on this are so rare, since players have moved on to 1.7 and beyond.
And while I sadly can't give you any specifics, I can tell you that the MInecraft host I use is based in the U.S. and has been very reliable for the past three years -- they have a two-tier pricing system with budget servers (HDD, no backups, fewer player slots) and premium servers (SDD, daily backups, more players lots, etc). Budget server prices range from $1.99 a month for 512MB of RAM, to $24 a month for 8GB of RAM, while for the premium server prices range from $5.99 a month for 512MB of RAM to $64 a month for 8GB of RAM. These are all for virtual Minecraft servers... hardcore gamers can also rent dedicated servers with all sorts of fancy mumbo jumbo (Intel Xeon something-or-other with 300GB of RAM and your own tropical island) -- prices for these range from $93 a month to $172 a month. You'd have to have some major monetization scheme, a good job, or rich parents to pay these crazy prices, but I'm sure some people do it. XD
I just now heard that server died( haven't been on the forums in a while ) but thought it was a joke until I dropped by here. Kinda shocking in all honesty but I completely agree with the reasons for dropping gulliver. To be honest I haven't been back on the server in forever due to that very reason: the launcher fighting me all the way when installing gulliver after reinstalling windows. You probably remember me as InsanityPie892 before I changed my name a while back.
On another note is there anywhere players can download the map?

Hi Pinkie Pie! Of course I remember you. ^^
Anyway, the server has not technically died, Big Sister is alive and kicking and going on it's fourth year of existence. It has, however, just transitioned to a 1.12 vanilla world starting today. As stated before, interest in the mod has waned quite a lot and it's no longer feasible [cost-wise] to maintain a 1.6.4 "museum" that only gets around 1 or 2 visitors a month. The server was destined to close down permanently in January and be succeeded only by Little Brother -- but then one of the current owners thought it was a brilliant idea to repurpose Big Sister as a cutting-edge vanilla world to at least preserve the community aspect. After months of testing and experimentation, this ended up being the best way to keep our community alive, and so we went with it; and while I'm not a server owner anymore, I'm happy to keep the server alive a bit longer if it can still have value as a social tool, and a as a living tribute for all the three years worth of hard work and dedication (including your own little Insania town).
Speaking of which, I have done the map backup, but the server staff want to hold off officially announcing them until everything is straightened out -- as with all big changes, there are LOTS of bugs to iron out [but they're making great progress]. I would say by next week the links should be publicly available -- they are privately available among staff right now, so either which way the old Big Sister map is alive and kicking in the interwebs. ^^
It happened... 1.12 I just saw it when I started up Minecraft and went to multiplayer so... when can I apply for the server...?
Hey there, I saw you also posted on Mion's board about us. ^^
We've been around as a Gulliver server for three years so I'm surprised you're hearing about us now, I'm guessing you're new.
Anyway, yes, the server owners have converted the Big Sister Gulliver Server into a Minecraft 1.12 vanilla server starting today. They need some time to work out the conversion issues with their staff and current player base; once they have everything in order, they will release a new whitelist thread for the Big Sister Vanilla server. When that day comes, I can share the link here so you can apply and experience the world we've crafted. ^^
I hope I did well on my application, thanks in advance!
Hey there, welcome back.
I know you've had a rough application history, but as you can read above the Big Sister Gulliver Minecraft server is no more, and will be replaced by the Big Sister Vanilla Minecraft server (and associated Little Brother companion server). The server will still have the same map file (albeit augmented by Minecraft 1.12 goodness over time) -- but it will have a much easier whitelist and more opportunities to interact with people. I think it'll be a great way to have a fresh start. ^^
So when you're ready to join that server (the new whitelist thread will be up either later this week or next, maybe), I hope you'll get the whitelist and finally enjoy the world you've been wanting to see for a few years now.
Thank you Spookie! And yes, I have also updated the front page of this thread to reflect the new page location. I will keep this thread open for a while to redirect any existing stragglers, but after a few weeks I'll see if the MC Forum admins can lock this down as we don't want any new applications listed here.
The new thread for the Big Sister server and its new whitelist application can be found here:

Guess I'll just have to squeeze into my old tiny home. Shouldn't be too hard
As a sidenote, I hope nobody thought I abandoned the server. I actually had a cool idea for an underwater grotto, but kept recieving login issues with minecraft. Sorry you guys had to discontinue the project :<
All your creations are still there, btw, so once you resolve your technical issues you should be good to return. You can try joining our Discord group as well! ^^

Good luck.

Only as a Gulliver server, it still exists as a 1.12 server...

All your creations are still there, btw, so once you resolve your technical issues you should be good to return. You can try joining our Discord group as well! ^^

Oh, sorry for wasting your time on that reply but I already knew xD
Still wonder how I'm gonna fit into my secret hovel on a vanilla server tho 🤔
Should be interesting in general for everyone since alot of the builds were Gulliver based like peoples tiny holes or giant houses.
The x8 houses are big enough to fit at least 10 players in a single one with even the basic ones xD
