Reasons I Find The Hunger Overhaul Annoying At Times, number... Umm... Lost count:
-Makes house
-House is in swamp-like biome, everything takes forever to grow
-Moves everything to Twilight Forest. Forest = faster growing for most crops
-Makes house
-Hunger Overhaul: Nope! This is a magical forest with tons of huge plants, but since it's never day, obviously your wheat, soybeans, tea, and everything else CAN NOT GROW HERE!
Sense, this logic makes none.
You can change that with a simple config change in hunger overhaul
hey guys,
recently got a new (way, way better) computer. I haven't really been following the topic cos I couldn't run the pack well before so I don't know what to do about the new IP and recent updates. is it the same download? and how do I get the new IP?

Same download as before. The new IP is 198.8.95.59
Don't worry if you experience some lag, that's not your new computer, it's probably the server. I look forward to seeing a new face online, there haven't been a lot recently...
I vote for the removal of ATG and a map reset. These errors and crashes make it impossible to explore properly, which is like half the game.
I thought most of the crashes were due to the server's memory limit being reached from exploration. If anyone wants my opinion in the matter, I say don't screw with what we have just yet. If we're going to remove an integral terrain gen mod, we should do so when the terrain's going to get screwed up anyways. (AKA 1.7.X) It'd be sad to see it go, because of it's fantastic, beautiful terrain, but would also let deserts and villages spawn with some semblance of normality... Gosh they're rare.
I figure I should mention a theory I have on the topic of exploration woes...
I have a feeling that the 'bad chunks' are only resultant from the early modpack, given the issue is no where as large as it was the first few days (people crashing out every few chunks from entity errors). I think a better solution than resetting everything (especially since it apparently wasn't just ATG causing the bad chunks / crashes as I heard from either Steel or qqq at one point) would be to regenerate the effected chunks then 'repair' (landscape them to fit the surrounding area. and ensure the biomes are consistent) the ones that are closer to spawn.
Though; that all hinges on the theory that it's resultant from the early mod generations; and is fixed or being fixed right now. Though of course; the bad chunk issue is an interesting one from what I've seen before because the thing is there's not that many of said chunks, but whenever they're rendered by X player, that player is crashed out; giving them a large area of impact but a relatively small area effected.
Then of course as Shade said; the memory limit was/is an issue still, however that's (for the most part) only something that can be 'fixed' by purchasing more server power. I'm probably not much help on this; but I figured it was worth mentioning my theory + proposed solution (if said theory could be verified).
Yea I was the one who had a magical ability to find them all over the place but now that I moved to a newly generated area I havent had one since. Crashlemeir hasnt crashed the server in weeks!

Haha. Very funny. ._. You don't look very mature. Anyways did you even read the GIANT DAMN RED SIGN?I haven't been on for a while either... I got Terraria about 2 weeks ago, and I was busy playing it. I'll be on the server soon.
lol, I've been waiting for the Ars Magica 2 1.1 update to release an update. Didn't quite realize he would post the changelog for said update 2+ weeks before releasing it... meh, whatever. Server runs as is. I'll be on on Christmas day for the secret santa think Happy is holding though.
I've just been very Minecraft'd out lately. Hell, haven't really seen anything that attractive to do lately, sort of been in a slump.

Heh, yeah I've quickly declining into a similar slump. It's less of "nothing to do" and more of "can't do anything because I'll die of hunger" though. I'm tempted to move back out of the Twilight Forest, but I also recently expanded my house and am quite happy with the result.
Eh, whatever, I'll probably just stay in decision-limbo, knowing how these things usually turn out. Anyways, looking forward to see you back on the server eventually.
Heads up, all Ars Magica mages. Ars Magica 2 has updated, but it came with a few things you oughta do before the update takes place.
1. Remove ALL spells from your spellbook! If you don't, the update will erase them and you'll have to make them all over again.
2. Mana batteries will need to be picked up as they will no longer neutralize received power, rather they will now polarize to what type of power they receive (ex: a battery full of light power, a battery full of neutral power or a battery full of dark power). Failure to remove a placed mana battery may make it disappear.
3. Any points you have stored up (ya know how you can see how many points you have in the occulus?), yeah, those points are gonna get wiped. Spend them or lose them cause I'm pretty sure no one will be getting refunds.
See the AM2 thread for the full changelog. Since it was a big changelog, Mithion included a link to Pastebin under the Changlelog spoiler IN the first post of the thread. I'd suggest checking it out so you know what to expect. But seriously, PLEASE do the first step. I don't think anyone wants to have to make their spells over again.
Sorry about the lack of activity from me again, just been MC'ed out, although once I play my way though ACIV: Black Flag, I should be rejoining people on Magipunk. Oh yea, doing massive invite swarm as well tomorrow morning, sooo...... yea. New peoples.

1. That would disable the feature for all dimensions.
2. I don't have access to the server's mod configs.

It has smaller size increments, higher max capacity, and uses flat images for inventory (Which I like better then what the Barrels mod does).
