Okay sounds like you are making some progress (but like next to none :tongue.gif:). Is it going to be a number ip or do you get to choose another custom one.
In the mean time, looks as if Hey0 is soon gonna be replacd my Bukkit, a minecraft server mod that is suppoed to be everything hey0 wasn't... sounds exciting, i just hope its not too much work to get up and going.
Xenon has got to be one of me most unprofessional and amateur companies I've ever had to see anyone deal with. They seriously need to get their **** together and have actual tech support that knows what the hell they are doing. What's with one of their techs neigh saying what the other said? That makes me laugh at their pathetic attempts to help their customers. On the good side of things, I'd be fully down to donate like 20 or 30 bucks towards the greater good of willystlee, I would simply require anything that shows what its getting put towards. Also Bukkit seems like an adequate replacement to hey0 and can't wait for it to be implemented on the server, also cant wait to use craftbook, just found out it was a plugin u were using lol. Anyways i hope everyone on the op team is doing alright and I cant wait till you get the server back up and running.
PS: This is the image that pops in my head when I think about the Xenon tech support team LAWL

Lol. Thanks Dig for the support :smile.gif:. I'm trying to think of some way that i'f someone did donate, how i could prove that it was used for the intended purpose... If you have an idea or something of how i could do this i'm all ears. As i've mentioned previously, any donations are more than appreciated. Below post will eplain the update on the situation, mainly good news! :biggrin.gif:
So here's whats going on as of now.

It looks like your server was moved.
So the server was moved, and i'm right now uploading the latest world file onto my directory on my xenonservers ftp. It should be done after i make this post, (i hope). But here's the good news.
I've decided to purchase a real server off ebay, and set it up with ubuntu and run it in my room. For those of you that are confused, basically i bought a physical server, (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0430204861) run the server from that computer and hopefully this will get us really up and running. Ubuntu will run the server much better (from what i've read) and plus having the server ran independently dedicated on the server, with much less lag and better performance all around *according to my hopes and dreams :tongue.gif:* . I got a kvm switch, 2 gb of extra ram, the server all coming in the mail soon hopefully. :biggrin.gif:
Also, if you haven't read about Bukkit yet, (go here http://bukkit.org/) seems like its gonna be released around the same time i will have things all set up! Hopefully that goes smoothly.
Just wanted to also say, to all the players (and ops) who have been patient and understanding regarding the rockiness that has been the server lately, i apologize for this. Thank you for being patient, i want you all to know that it is my full intention to get the server running smoothly and interruption free, with less lag.

Hey Willy, sorry to hear about all of the trouble with the server. Just let us know when you're up and running again, so I can continue to play on my favorite server :biggrin.gif:

Hey dude, thanks for the support and hope to see you when things are back and running
I worked in Linux (mostly programming in C++) some through my Computer Science undergraduate, so I'm somewhat familiar with it if you end up needing any help. I'm by no means an expert, but I can at least get around pretty well. I don't think it will be too difficult though. You'll just need to get the Java runtime installed (probably through Ubuntu's Synaptic package manager), download the minecraft server software, navigate to the folder you saved it in in the terminal, and run it using the command Notch posted on minecraft.net: "java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar minecraft_server.jar nogui". If you're wondering, the -Xmx1024M option sets Java's maximum heap size to a gigabyte, and -Xms1024M sets the initial heap size to a gigabyte. Otherwise, Java defaults to a max size of 128MB, which isn't all that much.
I've still got Ubuntu 10.04 dual booting with Windows 7 on this computer, so I could try to replicate any issues that come up if needed. If it doesn't recognize 'java' as a command, you'll need to add the location of Java's bin folder to the system path. I don't remember if that automatically happens or not when you install the JRE.
Oh, and sorry if anything I said above was painfully obvious to you. =) I have no idea how much experience you have working with java, Linux, etc. I can give more details if needed as well.

Dude, thank you! i really appreciate the help, nothin sound painfully obvious, don't worry. I think i will be be able to handle it for the most part, but chances are i will run into problems <--always, lol
Thanks again and i will be in touch, if you have xfire, you could add me my name is the same as on here.
As for an update for everyone on whats going on with the server, i know i promised it to get back up and running, but right now i'm trying to figure out why my cuboidAreas.dat isnt woring right... every time i went go into the world and start right clicking to check building protections, they don't show up, says "no cuboid exists here" but they do exist inside my cuboidAreas.dat file, i'm sure of this. So basicly i could run the server right now, but for griefing reasons, (nothing is protected) i am not going to until we can figure out a way around the cuboid issue, or another alternative (i don't know any, suggest if you do) Basicly, my cuboidAreas.dat file was not wiped like i previously thought, the data within the file exists, but nothing is showing up protected.
Sorry again everyone, i hope you all understand. I'm working really hard to get the server back up again. Thanks.
just make a new rank called builder and when players who we know join let them build. as for newcomers set them as default which restricts them from building?

Well i tried starting up to test that out, but my guess is that xenon hasn't caught up with notch's latest update /rolleyes
imma try just running off my computer, screw this. Copy/pasta'ing our latest world to my home computer server folder...
Wait... ip changed again...
/confusion+/rolleyes <-------------me
Ok now its seems like the new problem of the day is hmod bieng "broken". I keep seeing posts on bukkitforums and hey0fourms of server admins who's servers are also temporarily broken, makes me feel a bit better knowing im not the only one with so many problems. Right now im trying to get to the releases section of hey0 forums because my home server's hmod folder has an older version since the dedicated mess and i need to update, and the site is very slow right now i'm guessing due to high traffic because of the new notch update. If had several page fails so far when trying to get into releases section.. i'll keep trying tho and once i update hey0 i will try to get the server running. I want to try out the new features!!
:sad.gif:
Lapiz Lazuli Ore ?? Dispensers!? NoteBlock!? I wanna see! ;_;
EDIT:
Seems like everyone is haveing issues with Minecraft right now, i set up the server on my pc again, all correctly and i am still getting a java.io.ioexception packet id 126...
So hopefully this gets fixed thoughout the day... i'll keep trying guys.
You are getting packet errors because the latest MInecraft update made several changes to the protocol. You need to update minecraft_server.jar and your client in order to play. In addition, you will need to run it without hmod, so make sure monster spawning is disabled.
I reverse engineered the protocol earlier today and made a Minecraft bot that connects and provides basic services, like teleportation and item spawning. Let me know if you need a copy to hold you over until hmod updates.
Judging by the progress at the hmod repository, we're going to be without hmod for at least one more day, if not several.
Are you back frm queensland? I was just watching a video of the flood washing cars away there!! shits crazy!!
Server will be back up soon on my PC (temporarily).
lol yes i have ben home for 3 days :smile.gif: but i was catching up and all that good shet
