Currently a bedrock wall is used as borders. If you're curious you can generate land beyond the wall, but those chunks will be deleted to keep our map size down as it expands.
9 stacks of iron, 2 stacks of diamonds, a massive stockpile surplus of tools, armour, weapons, wood, wheat, etc.
A pretty much impenetrable unfindable base with 2000+ obsidian blocks & traps with an additional internal obsidian house for safe keeping of materials with additional traps.
A mob trap for loot, a spider dungeon, a redstone lab and quarters for faction members.
A slightly old screen shot of which can be seen here showing the farm areas, although when taken I didn't want to show the traps for obvious reasons.
It is safe to say I'm pretty upset, but I guess I can do my degree now.
We're going back to that map when they finally update bukkit so we can run borderlands again.
The goal of this current map is to keep people from building outside borders on the main map then bitching when we re-enforce the borders.
While playing it started lagging and then i got an error and DC, on re-join i had 1 FPS and the F3 graph was going off the top of the screen with white and java was using aout 75% CPU before I was forced to end it.
Now I cant connect at all :sad.gif:.

We are still trying to solve the cheater problem. We found a new 'map' prototype that solve several problems. We will test this map out during our 'temporary' phase while we wait for mojang to get their crap together so we can return to our official map.
It solves these problems...
[li]Cheaters cannot easily see cave systems
[li]Mineral inflation is much more difficult
[li]'small map' whiners can quit bitching because the map is much, much larger and nametags will be less relevant
The new map is a place where minerals TRULY deplete - where territory is fought over. Where exploration is key -not hoading in some underground grotto.
Anyways, it is meerely a test until we can get our main map going.
ok, first a total ******** floating map that was glitching left and right and now an error the second my client downloads the terrain.

Hey guys just to remind you that the server may still be in testing. We're trying to find the right balance between a good map and solutions to the unstable hey0 mod that we are forced to use with our hosts. The floating map was a way to test one of the possible ways to solve border, hoarding, and cheating (by seeing through walls) issues. Anyway, I believe the current map is stable for now. Spawn is next to the border so make sure you walk the opposite way.
Minecraft Liberation: Total Freedom Server maps
All of the major maps that we have used have been backed up in case we decide to revert. They are named:
Alpha - First map we used on this server that started private. It also ran during the last moments of MC Alpha. Originally a tundra spawn, the spawn was moved to a temperate plain that became a creeper mortar zone. Beta - Second map we used that held the notorious creeper canyon 'wasteland' that was the original spawn that we moved to a tundra. This map had the longest uptime on the server and most of the veteran players have done a lot of work on it. It also ran as our MC Beta relaunch map. Genesis - The map with the bedrock walls and massive dense forests that ran during the super-vanilla stage when hey0 wasn't functional. Charlie - This is the current map. Lets make it a good one!
Other maps:
Skylands map - Floating islands. Didn't work out too well. Was buggy. Considered a prototype for future possibilities.
WTF happening? this new map has the spawn OUTSIDE THE "BOARDERS" so then it gliched up before puting me in a 4X1X2 hole.
