Acid Islands is a game mode that is similar to Sky Block. In fact, Acid Island (AI) was developed by the same person that developed SB. But instead of building an island high in the sky, you are building your own grief-protected island on an ocean of acid. All water in AI is acid water, including rain which means that when it rains, you need to have a block over your head, or armor to protect yourself from the acid. A potion of water breathing also protects you from the acid.
Although you start on a small island with a low block count, you can gain blocks through the use of an upgradeable cobblestone generator and by completing challenges with /ai challenges. Or if you wish, you can also purchase blocks from other players, or from the admin shop. Most players gain blocks from all of the above. You can unlock nether and end islands through the use of challenges too.
Here are some notes to get you started.
All island settings can be accessed with /ai settings and you can control things like the biomes, permissions, and whether or not you want pvp enabled (disabled by default). There are tons of options here.
Adding blocks to your island will level it up. Do /ai level. Some blocks have greater value than others. For example placing 1 cobblestone block will add 1 point to your island and adding 1 dirt block will add 3 points.
As you level your island, you open up more perks. For example, you can change your cobblestone generator for a chance to generate other blocks besides cobble or stone.
Dirt, a very common block in Vanilla MC, is more rare in AI but necessary for farms, trees, and for spawning animals (when in grass form). In short, dirt is life, get it whenever you can.
There are lots of challenges with /ai challenges. Each challenge will bring you rewards and move you forward to more difficult and more rewarding challenges.
The acid ocean does not damage boats so you can easily explore and look at other islands, some small, some abandoned by those that found AI to be too hard, and some are epic, made by those that can live up to the challenge.
Beginner Hints.
Never place important blocks directly over the ocean surface. Instead, have at least 1 block layer below the surface layer that way it is much easier to reclaim important blocks if you decide to edit your island. Blocks will float for a while before they despawn, so use this time to grab a boat and try to reclaim them if needed.
Claim as many dirt blocks as you can in the beginning and then decide how you want to place them. You will earn more dirt later but gathering them up early means a better start. Be careful though to always leave enough grass blocks in place to keep your grass. If you have money then you can "cheat" a little and buy dirt from a shop.
Tree Feller is in use on this server so be careful to aim your chop so that your farm animals don't get hit. A large jungle tree falling can easily kill your starter farm animal.
Never casually walk around with important items in your inventory because if you die, you drop those items.
Remember, there is almost always a way to get the blocks you want without using shops so don't be afraid to challenge your MC knowledge. But the shops are still there to help make life easier for you if you choose.
You can add friends to your island to help you build but make sure you trust them with perms and you can earn money by voting or by selling blocks to other players through your own shop.

Server IP: exileislands.shockbyte.pro
Finally, someone has an Acid Island mode. This is so hard to find. I won't be able to join until later but can you post the view distance?
If you have not joined yet, view distance is set to about 9 I think. It's high enough to see other islands next to you.
I used to play this server every day but acid islands is too hard for most people because you have to have good understanding of minecraft.
