After playing Minecraft on and off for the last ~10 years, I’ve finally decided to start my own Minecraft survival Server. Why? Well, because throughout the years I’ve joined many servers; some failed, ended up inactivate, some ended abruptly without ever hearing from the server owner again. Maybe you have been through the same roller coaster. I decided I don’t want to go through the same cycle again.
Stability is important. I want security that I’m playing and investing in a community that isn’t just going to disappear. With my own server I have that! I hope that anyone that decides to give this server a try will eventually have that same feeling of security. Over the past couple days I’ve invested some time in learning about the ins and outs of running a server like this. Hopefully it will be a smooth ride, but fair warning: this is my first time. I’ll be learning as we go. As of right now the map has been pre-generated. I’ve also optimized the server for better performance, in the first week we might have a couple of restarts if we notice something off. Though I suspect we’ll mostly be fine. (Same goes for the Discord server, I have done some testing and everything should work, but if it doesn't I apologize in advance).
Anyways, like I said: this server isn’t just for me. It will be a community effort and thus the community will be a part of making decisions. That’s why Discord will be a requirement. Not just for ease of communication, but also for discussing and voting on datapacks, directions we’ll take with future Minecraft updates and the likes.
Whenever I decided to join an SMP server, I always looked for a new server. Why? Because the community is such a big part of this experience... and I don’t know about you, but more often then not I had a difficult time trying to fit in with an existing community. I’ll make it a continuous effort to make any player feel welcome, no matter if they join the server now or in a couple of months. I hope that others will strive for the same. It's a multiplayer experience after all!
I also like to have a “starters town” where we will be having a little town with each our starters house/base. That will keep us around each other for a little while and hopefully boosts player interactions, resource sharing and maybe even some joined efforts in building houses together etc. And as a bonus it will give us a wonderful spawn. Although it won’t be enforced, as we all have our preferred playstyles, I hope others will take part in this. I’m also a big advocate for player shops and a playerbase that doesn’t shy away from actually using said shops.
We are all adults. We have plenty of responsibilities and obligations in the real world. That’s why I don’t expect too much from you. I trust that the majority that applies is interested enough to play, but some weeks you might not be able to find a bit of free time to play or just don’t feel like it – and that’s fine. That said, there are no guardrails in place either: you can go as fast as you want too! Well, besides a couple of “community-gated” events (example: taking on the first Ender Dragon together).
If you are familiar with the “Hermitcraft-like SMP” experience and have common sense you’ll be good to go. No hidden words that need to be posted in your application either. The Discord has a slightly expanded list of rules, but I won't be ruling with an iron fist. Like I said: just use your common sense.
- Respect each other.
- Don't grief or steal from other players. CoreProtect is in place to restore any damage (no second changes here).
- Don't hack or use x-ray.
- To apply you must be 18 years or older.
How to apply?
